      Is there anyway to train for pull ups, without actually doing pull ups? Sounds dumb but as a rather tall lad i cant use a pull up bar on my door frames, neither do i have time to go to the gym

      +The Coalition lat pull downs single arm rows, but with the lat pull downs concentrate on the eccentric movement really slow to build the muscle fibres

      Health and safety gone mad. I think it's liability issues since they aren't technically on basic training yet. Once you come back for your 32 weeks, no helmets then

    Do you need 20/20 vision for the marines because it is very unclear elsewhere?
    Thanks.

      @ecddanieldce6753 Před 7 lety

      snowy mountain If you have any problems with your sight whatsoever you're unlikely to be held back. They're extremely strict on medical fitness, if anything isn't right you won't stand a chance

      You dont need 20/20 i believe

    • @KayGKing
      @KayGKing Před 7 lety +1

      The details are on the website somewhere, but....
      20/20 is an American term anyway, that most people misunderstand completely. It does not mean 'perfect' vision or anything like that - basically its a general indication of normal vision.
      6/6 is the metric equivalent and what UK opticians/optometrists will be using. 6/12 means worse than normal, 6/4 would be better than normal etc.
      Army needs 6/12 or better in right eye, 6/36 or better in left eye AFTER correction (glasses/contacts), which is still pretty bad vision.....marines may be a little stricter but there are marines with glasses/contacts.
      Unless your vision is terrible or you have a squint or something like that, you should be fine.
      Hope that's vaguely helpful.

      Will the classroom work hold me back?
      I was a little shit in school so didn't get my GCSE's and I'm worried this will hold me back, the PT etc I have no problem with it's just classroom, everyone fresh out of collage etc then there's me struggling ..

      Nice mate congrats, how long after having a interview did it take until you had your PJFT and PRMC? Also. im just training by doing push ups, sit ups and lots of hill running. Any tips? Ive been told that there is no reason to hit the gym as its all endurance. Someone told me doing push ups, sit ups and hill running for a couple of months is enough. Is this true or should i focus on other things?

    • @tobykruger8544
      @tobykruger8544 Před 7 lety +1

      TeeJayy C as long as you get through the psychometric tests you'll be alright, you don't need good grades to get through the test

    • @tobykruger8544
      @tobykruger8544 Před 7 lety +1

      The Coalition tbh, I didn't train 2 weeks before prmc, got an average score at gym tests and stayed determined during the bottom field and endurance course

    • @SpartanGaming3
      @SpartanGaming3 Před 7 lety +2

      Ah ok i see. Ive just been reading all over the application pages and royal navy forums. They all say they require top peak physical fitness. But i guess they just put that there to get people to train before hand so they dont get a lot of chubby people applying. I can already do the PJFT and pretty sure i can scrape bottom marks at the PRMC at my current state. But i dont want to go simply for bottom marks, want to try my hardest and get hit my maximum potential. Applied yesterday, so i assume, providing i pass all tests, i wont go to the PRMC for another 4-7 months. Sorry if im being a pain, just want to make it clear. Can i pass the PRMC if i just train push ups, sit ups and running?
