People complained like mad when Honda made the volume control touch sensitive on the Civic until Honda had to reintroduce the volume knob in the facelift. Not sure what VW was smoking when they thought making all controls touch sensitive was a good idea. Whats worst is the touch controls on the steering wheel. Imagine all the amount of accidental touches. Those 2 things are enough to make me not consider the current generation of VWs.
Woah bobby nice review, noticed that the front passenger seats has isofix mounts and rear tether hooks, so essentially family with two small kids, the elder kid on isofix booster seats sits in front, rear could place the baby in its rear facing isofix seat and the mother could seat at the back....superb ....why cant mazda or toyota come with this option
i'm more excited for bobby's alone time with the car talking about the car design language (all the curves and lines and logical behind)... and oh how i always love VW designs their lines parallel to each other (rear door opening \\ fuel cap \\ rear light, see 10:03), so soothing to the eyes
IMO, the rims in R line is way more handsome than the GTI. The seat in R line looks really great with grey/black with a logo 'R', the seat in GTI is so colorful and the badge of "GTI" is missing. Why they removed the LED fog light in GTI? Also in Euro spec, headlamp have the rep-stripe connect to front grill.
I think Malaysia VW trying to cut down the cost, that’s why they bring in the Low spec golf Gti. Otherwise the price gonna be crazy for the based GTi. Remember last time the Malaysia MK7 Gti have different tails light than the European version.
I think it's fair now to direct compare mk8 gti(obvious cost cut I lost bit appetite) vs w177(interior design superb w loads of tech) a250 hatchback bcos both cars same aggressive 7spd gbox so I'm awaiting for Bobby to drive a mk8 gti otr and genting verdict bcos both cars is in my buy list. My question to Bobby, is cabin noise really loud going up genting n otr with w177 a250 hatchback? Thank you!
The merc's sound proofing improved a lot in the current A class, I would say it's considered a comfortable car now. Fit and finish is still lagging behind its rivals tho
The vw have been suggested to their appalling cost cutting measures. Their quality used to be reaching mercedes levels. The w205 c class was infamously delayed for a year because the interior quality couldn’t match the golf mk7. Oh, how the mk8 foretells vw’s fall from grace from being upmarket to just an overpriced peoples car
@@maxleong91 walter de silva’s designs are very classy and will age like fine wine. The mk6 and mk7 still look pretty and modern. Of all the mk8’s shortcomings tho, I’m most angry about how they don’t have the ingenious wing mirror anymore.
Asia weather here in Singapore vw just not so suitable unlike Honda you see way more reliable over time hot or cold even old Honda beyond 30 years anywhere still runs like new you hardly see Conti cars able to do that under hot weather situation beside those very classic Mercedes. Todays era Japanese car still the best for luxury unless you can afford Lamborghini like me than it’s worthy just by looking at it positive way more than negative I only made an exception for Lambo the rest of the Conti like this really pointless to buy problems.
