Jillani or Gillani Saadats are direct descendants of Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir who was born in Jilan or Gilan. Gilanis claim that they are Najib-ut-Taraffain (Nobles on both sides that are to say, Hassani Syeds form Father side and Hussaini Syeds from Mother side) Ex Prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani is prominent and leading personality among them. You forgot to mention this:
Makhdoom Raza Shah Gilani was the first person from sub continent to defeat a British candidate,E.P. Moon, i. District council elections 1934.
In 1937 , when all india muslim league had only 3 seats in the punjab assembly one of them belonged to makhdoom raza shah.
In 1945, when the qureshis betrayed the Quaid and joined the Unionist party it was makhdoom raza shah and makhdoom mustafa shah who stood firmly by the quaid and the league and won the Multan seats on a Muslim League ticket.
You point out that alamdar gilani was ebdoed ,but you didn't mention that he played a pivotal role in making the 1956 constitution. He was the first minister for locals bodies under whos direction local bodies elections were held.
You mention that Hamid Raza gillani sat on the sidelines when Bhutto was being trialled. However, you fail to mention that Hamid Raza gillani was the first victim of zia regime , His ancestral house in Multan was snatched by the martial law regime. It was not until 1985 that he resumed politics (8 years later)
You try to portray as if the family came into mainline politics due to the British, but you fail to mention that during mughal wars for succession mughal prince took refuge in darbar musa pak and remained unharmed till the time he left the darbar ,which wasn't for days.
You fail to recognise the magnanimous role played by the gilani family in the khilafat movement. Makhdoom raza shah was expelled from Atchison college,for he openly supported the cause . His admission was later reinstated and was awarded the prestigious rivaz medal which he refused to receive as a sign of protest.
You mention that the family rendered great service to the British during the 1857 uprising repeatedly, however you fail to mention those services. The only service they provided was to save the lives of the natives in Multan. Whom the British were ready to butcher at the slightest inconvenience . The entire subcontinent had fallen Bahadur Shah had been taken captive revolutionaries killed without being shown any mercy ,Multan would have been no different.
You mentioned that family enjoyed cordial relations with the British government. The British had conquered the subcontinent to deny their existence would've been foolish. Jinnah sahib too was once an ardent supporter of the British government (uptil1937) . Likewise, the eulogy written by iqbal for Queen Victoria is mind boggling (do read it, surely you will try to frame him a gadar also.)
