  • here are some vidoe clips of different area railroads. Railroads seen include Maine Central, Boston and Maine, Aroostook Valley, New England Southern. These videos were at the end of the VHS tape that had the Last trains on the Maine Central Mountain division. Again, I have no idea who shot this footage, but felt it deserved to be preserved.

Great for research for modeling in miniature. This was the day after my 18th birthday and I lived in Milinocket. BAR is my favorite but I enjoyed this a lot. Love the AVR as well. Sad it’s gone.

Nice job. Got to save those old films ; most of these roads have disappeared via merger, buyout, or closing. Thanks for the memories as the man would say.

The Aroostook Valley stuff starting at around the 4:00 mark is awesome. They serviced the Presque Isle, Washburn, and Caribou areas of northern Maine when I was growing up, including a number of industries on the former air base in Presque Isle and surrounding areas. I used to see them interchange a TON of those blue St. Lawrence boxcars with the CP.

Northern New England railroading, in all it's colorful glory, as it never will be again.

18:28 excuse me, but what the hell happened to 1008's s3l? It sounds so much better in it's later years.
