Like the drone shot over the shingle bank....birds didn't seem bothered by the drone!
I was surprised at that as normally they would try to mob the drone. They were very laid back out there.
Ken and Carol. Thank you for a lovely relaxing video. Just the tonic for these troubled times! Ideal bedtime viewing! Appreciate your honest presentation. Wishing you both a very happy and healthy Christmas. Tom
This is the first time I have come across your videos but I think I have become and ardent follower already! Love what you are doing and the sensitive way it is filmed, especially love the drone footage, it all works together beautifully! Thank you!
Glad to have you join us on our travels Jane. Thanks for watching 👍😊
Stunning sunset in this one.
Thank you KenNd Carol we Were the same very lucky to be able to come Home
I was very chilled out here, nice one. A very "HAPPY CHRISTMAS" TO YOU BOTH. 👍🎁🎄☃❄🌨😁
Just found your channel today, it’s nice to see people enjoying life more simply in England. All the best from Ramsgate
The temporary electrical connection reminds me of the knob & tube wiring in a 1906 house. The positive and neutral were run in separate lines and the outlets were spliced in Only two wire (120 volt ac) and no ground wires..
Love the music!
Yet another good one. Thank you for taking us along. You two have a wonderful and safe Christmas.
Thank you for the video 😁 I wish you and your viewers a wonderful day!!😁🎄🎄🎄
It sure brightened my day when I saw your video had been posted. I just finished watching it and loved every bit of it. Can’t wait to see more of your adventures! Mary
These videos are so relaxing to me...I have often had to camp out in my car overnight due to my job...it’s so cool to see you two doing it in comfort and interesting to see the views and landmarks in an area
The 12 C Drover’s Church is unique.
Re: your washing of self…perfect.
Another great video.
Thanks again.
What a chilled out pair you are, It’s infectious! I played in a country band based in West Sussex for a long time, (Deep South) loved all the little village clubs & the lovely friendly people! Great memories. Thanks guys, have a wonderful Christmas! 😊👍
Cheers Brian I bet you have some wonderful memories of your time in that band. Happy days. Have a great Christmas 👍
Was wondering where you’d gone! Great longer length film! Thanks for showing your routines- glad you got your bedding sorted. We use a ‘constellation double sleeping bag’ which unzips into 2 duvets and packs down quite small. Will be giving the chicken and rice dish a go! Seen that a couple of times on your channel and looks lovely ☺️ glad you’re both well.
Cheers Bernie. We haven’t tried out the wool duvet in the van yet but have started using the wool pillows at home and they are great. Hope you are settling in well to your new van. Let us know what you think of the chicken, sweetcorn and rice 👍😊😋 Happy Christmas 🎄 🎅🏻⛄️
Been watching your channel for a couple of weeks now and I just want to say what a absolute pleasure it is to watch you on your journey in your little red camper van, stay safe and look forward to carry on watching you both😊😊😊
Welcome to our channel. Thanks for watching and your lovely comment. We hope to be out travelling again in the little red camper as soon as covid restrictions allow 🙂
Thanks for the great videos. Regarding the overhead line, the overhead line is presumably being grounded for work. We are always looking forward to videos from you, best regards from Iceland
We didn’t know that about the overhead power line but that would make sense👍 Greetings to you in Iceland and Happy Christmas 🎄 🎅🏻⛄️
Great video 📹 👍. Glad you're both having fun. A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 😊 🎄🥳🎵😇🎄🎵
Another great and very informative video....Thank you for sharing with us....really appreciate it. We've just booked in a conversion for March for an NV200....thanks solely to you guys xxx
Thanks for watching Sue. How exciting to be getting your NV200 in March. We’re sure you will have loads of fun in it 👍😊
You too are a wonderful couple...I watched you all summer and now you still at it... even in the winter. 🎅 ✨🎄 Loved that little old church...
Thanks for watching Marian. We love to travel all year round but this year has been restricted due to covid 🙁 Hoping for more opportunities to get away next year🤞Have a Happy Christmas 🎄⛄️🎅🏻
Beautiful church 👍
I wish we had gone inside now but it was so cold out there that morning my hands were frozen from flying the drone. At night its all lit up and we had spotted it the evening before on the way to our park up.
Great sunset en lovely place. Thanks for the tip of washing yourself. Nice vlog again.
Great watch guys - good to see you getting out there. Lovely little day park up. Stay safe and Merry Christmas to you both .... here’s to a better year for campervan trips next year
Cheers Stew. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Jane. Hope you can get away in Harry again soon 👍🥳🎄🎅🏻
Always look forward to seeing your videos, diner looked nice will have to try that sometime.
The more I watch you both, the more impressed I am by your cheerful demeanour, and your interest in even the smallest things.
No one else would be interested in a shingle bank off the beach, but you are, and it is a marvellous quality in these covid times,
You manage to find beauty and interest right on the doorstep, you don't drive or fly hundreds of miles, but have your reduced your horizons to the local area and found it still worthwhile.
And no one else would park up for the night on an industrial estate in freezing cold and wet December, but you do, and you salvage memories out of the kind of areas and experiences that most people would just pass by.
We have a little red campervan on order, a VW California Coast. And can't wait to do the kind of things you are doing !
Thanks for that Andrew. You are right we do take more time to focus on the smaller things because once you start looking there is so much stuff around you no matter where you are. There is a lot more to Selsey that we didn’t get to show so we will be going back there at some point. Being a film maker helps as well as we are constantly looking out for things to show 👍
As the previous comment , its so relaxing watching your videos, It must be 40 years since I last saw Selsey and Selsey Bill, In a previous life I was a sales rep, not the hated variety, I really enjoyed it at the time, I could show off to my mates with a series of nice new company cars then like we all ,I grew up, living in South London I travelled all over the South down as far as Selsey, Caravan land we used to call it, there seemed to be statics everywhere, i liked driving in those days, I still do, but the traffic nowadays can be a problem, look forward to the next trip, take care you too, regards, Colin.
I bet Selsey has changed a bit in 40 years! Still a lot of caravan parks in the area though. Thanks for watching and have a Happy Christmas 🎄 ⛄️🎅🏻
Thanks, Carol & Ken for the great videos you've made this year. They've provided much-needed escapism from Covid. Happy Christmas & best wishes for a better 2021 to you both.
PS. Concerning washing in the van I use Nilaqua No Rinse Waterless Body Wash and Skin Cleansing Foam. You apply it liberally all over and towel it off. No mess & works really well.
Hi Mark, thanks for your lovely comment and we are glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for the tip on Nilaqua and we will have to give that a try. Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2021 to you as well 👍
Thanks for the video. It's great to see the two of you out and about. Here in Los Angeles County, we are on a strict lockdown, so no camping for us! I can only go down to the garage and stare and my camper and think, "Someday soon!"
Such a shame we have this virus problem Ethan. It must be very frustrating not to be able to use your new Recon. All the best, stay safe and may this problem pass quickly 👍
Well......I wasn't expecting a mention by name 😉 thanks both. I hope you enjoy your new duvet now you finally have it. Hope you both have a good Christmas and here's hoping for a better new year. 🐻❄️
Thanks for the recommendation Nigel, we can’t wait to try out the wool topper and duvet in the van. We have started using wool pillows at home too. Happy Christmas to you and yours and best wishes for the New Year 👍😊🎄🎅🏻⛄️
The van is downright cozy. Very nice video Ken. What a great way to spend your days. Merry Christmas to you both.
You guys are the best ,as I've said before absoultly love your vlogs just to hear the waves gently lapping on the beach pure relaxing 😀😀😀
Your videos are very professionally made, i can see a lot of skill, time & effort has gone into making them.
That is kind of you to say so Andrew. Video has been my one enduring hobby over the years and I get a lot of pleasure out of learning how to improve them. There is so much to learn and it keeps my mind occupied which is useful in these challenging times. Thanks for your comment 👍
Lovely video. Excellent ideas about wild camping. Love your washing technique. Thank you for your videos and have a peaceful Christmas.🎄🎁🎅
Your description of the donuts...lol.. I completely understand the utter disappointment.. I had that happen one morning something looked so good after taking a bite I instantly felt I had munched down on a shingle or something lol
Great video and also handy to see how you wild camp in my county as I live in Sussex. For now though as I have no camper I get to live vicariously through you 2 😎
Wonderful channel! Reminds me of my time in RAF Chicksands in 1986-1989. We have a 1998 Pleasure Way Van and do what you do! God Bless!
Glad to bring back some good memories for you John. Those Pleasure Way vans look great and a nice size for wild camping. Stay safe and Happy Christmas 👍😊🎄⛄️🎅🏻
Another great video, only found your channel a couple of months ago, enjoying your adventures.
Selsey looks nice, one for the list.
Hi Ken and Carol, great vlog as alway.👌
Happy Christmas 🎄 to you both and many happy blessings for the New Year.🎅🧑🎄x
Thanks Charmaine. Merry Christmas to you too and best wishes for 2021 👍😊
Great video and some beautiful shots on the beach. Like wish you both a wonderful Christmas and good health for the New Year. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Thomas. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too 🎄⛄️🎅🏻
My home country & an area I know so well. Come across your channel by chance & subscribed. Gorgeous van, I want one but with 3 young children all under 6 & a huge mortgage, I’ll have to settle watching you guys taking me along on an adventure. Cheers Andy
Thanks for watching and subscribing. Three children under 6 must be quite a handful! Best wishes to you and your family for a Happy New Year 🥳 👍
Really my hat off to you and Carol xx All the wonderful adventures you've had in your Micro Little Red Camper, though cozy I think I would struggle long term even though you have benefits for stealth and access to locations I could not get too ?? ( I Love my Permanent Bed ) LOL I know you love your LRC And it shows individuality regarding personnel needs/wants etc But even with the limitations you still enjoy x and that's all that counts, and still have the ability to produce really wonderful vlogs xx The Drone/Bird warning is so valid. I had ( Out of the blue ) a Hawk strike my drone in Greece on 2 occasion over the sea before i managed to escape and Land. A bit hairy to say the least . Have a really smashing Christmas Ken/Carol xx Stephen.
Thanks Stephen. I know we couldn’t live full time in our little van and we would love to have a permanent bed but it does give us a great sense of adventure and it is fun being able to park up almost anywhere. Have yourself a great Christmas with the family and stay safe 🥳🎄🎅🏻
Current guide lines No Trip to Birmingham for Family Christmas week this year for me Sadly 🥲🥲 x We will make up for it in the spring Hopefully 🤞🤞🤞🤞👍
Funny to see one of our ambulances sitting on roadside cover outside the carpark you used at Selsey seafront , we usually use a care home which we have a small room set aside for us but due to the current pandemic Selsey is road side cover until further notice. Crews love Selsey cover as it's a remote place that needs covering due to poor response times - hence an ice cream and nice views for crews waiting for there next call! - Great video :)
I noticed they kept returning to that spot after dealing with calls. I used to do the same in the response car back in my policing days. We didn’t have designated spots then and were free to explore and pick the best spots. These days they don’t get much time to park up as they have a queue of jobs lining up. 👍
always enjoy your videos
luv the views of the seaside, lots of things are out of stock.
weather not nice,
I can here the wind whizzing down the street.
we are going into teir 4 ,
ugh im never going to get out , but thats why I luv your vids.
stay safe.
Sorry to hear you are going into Tier 4. Hope it won’t be for long. Glad we can entertain you with our videos. Keep safe and warm 👍😊
Ahoy Pirates! Another great morning re-run! :) Ken, you have a keen eye for the little things, and believe me, my friends, nothing seems trivial these days. Thank you! big bear hugs from Capt. of the good old Blackthorn ;)
Thanks for the re-watch and lovely comment. Have a great day Captain 👩✈️ 😄👍
Lovely video as always. The golden hour was heartwarming. I was trying to identify the little birds feeding on the shore and maybe have a guess at Turnstone, but they probably aren’t! Anyway wishing you both a Merry Christmas. I do hope you’ll be able to do some more exploring in the New Year, restrictions permitting. From Louise x
They are Turnstones. My favourite birds 👍. Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year 👍
Silk duvets are brilliant.
We have not tried a silk duvet but we do have some silk sheets and they are heaven to sleep in especially when the weather starts getting hot 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK the silk duvets come in 2 different togs, there’s a thin one for summer and a thicker one for winter and if it gets to cold you can button them together, I prefer the thinner one, I can honestly say I have never had such a good nights sleep. Good luck and happy Christmas.
@@zxrcol good to know about the silk duvets, thanks. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you 👍🙂⛄️🎄🎅🏻
Great vid going to try looking for places to camp locally just to get the hang of it thanks for that and a Merry Christmas from Alan and Yvonne oh and a Happy New Year
Good idea to do a trial run close to home👍😊 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both 🎄🎅🏻⛄️
Cool
Thank you for sharing.
I came across your channel this evening and enjoyed your wild camping
Will be looking good out for more of your videos.
Wishing you a Blessed Christmas and an interesting New Year.
Regards from S Africa
Clive
Thanks for watching Clive, glad you enjoyed it. Greetings to you in South Africa. Stay safe and have a Happy Christmas 🎄🙂👍
Beautiful sunset. You both look content😁 Thank you
It was beautiful Anita and very relaxing to just sit inside the van out of the cold and watch it 😊
I have a fabulous thinsilate bag
Ahoy Pirates! :D So happy to see you out and about! Enjoyed this one very much with Mother Sea and all the cute little birdies! :) Carol, you are deeply loved in this video! :) Wishing you two all the best in these few days before Christmas. I was hoping for some snow here but the forecast says going to be the hottest days. XD bear hugs, Kata
Thank you Kata. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too. Hope you get the snow you wish for ⛄️
@@LifeistooshortCK Nah, you went ahead! 🦸 Merry Christmas 🎄☃️ and a Happy New Year 💖🎉
Hi,
Just came across your channel and watched this episode, very good, subscribe and going to have a look at some others.
Excellent episode, interesting and well presented.
Thanks, David.
lovely sunset, a real nice place to hang out
and a big thanks for for only showing us half your body wash ha ha
have a great christmas guys
The full body wash is for Patreons only which is exactly why we don’t have any 😁👍. Happy Christmas 👍
Just 'found' your channel: glad I don't have to sleep in such anarrow bed as you do though! I'll learn more doubtless - but my initial feeling is (and I'm very capable of roughing it myself) that I couldn't live like this as a couple.
There is no doubt it can be a squeeze at times but we love the compact size of our van for finding parking spaces and fitting under height barriers. Thanks for watching 😊
Love this channel, something I would love to do when I retire and have time to spare only problem is the Mrs don't like small spaces .
We have caravan at present but I rather have camper van and move about, had old be camper years ago and loved it
We enjoyed many years travelling in various sizes of caravan, gradually getting bigger with each upgrade. Then in 2019 we had a complete change of heart and ordered our campervan, not really knowing if we would cope in such a small space. We can honestly say it has been so much fun touring in the little red camper that we wish we had made the change from caravans years ago. Whatever you decide to do have a long and happy retirement and safe travels 🙂👍
Good Morning Ken and Carol Great video you were only a bit of a stone's through from us when you visited the Marine Parade Car Park in Selsey. I make it my routine to go there at least 3/4 times a week takes about 2 minutes, makes life worth living having lived by the sea in Scotland for the early part of my years. Happy Christmas .
Well we were close then. It would have been nice to say hello. That is a lovely place to live with such a nice walk so near 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Thank you for the reply next time in the area give me a shout
Loved it, was hoping you would have filmed refilling with lpg; stay safe
I had intended to do that but unfortunately some garages are a bit funny when you start filming on the forecourt.
Hello you two. What a treat that you can use your van in winter. A bit to snowy here, and without a heater we could not do more than one night I think. We are finally getting some Christmas snow today here in Mt Tremblant, QC. 5 inches. Wouldn’t it helped with the humidity if you opened your two windows a bit for the night? We also have a small marine solar vent and those two help a lot. I herd about the new virus strain on your continent. So take good care of you and have a nice Christmas holiday. Thanks for the gift you give us every week. Danielle from the little white van in Canada.
Hi Danielle and greetings to you in the little white van in Canada. We are lucky we don’t get such low temperatures here and not much snow ⛄️ You are right, we could open the two front windows slightly and that would help a bit with condensation. It looks like our travel plans are going to be severely restricted with the new virus strain here in England so we will see what news the new year brings. Merry Christmas to you and best wishes for 2021 🎄😊👍
Wew have a T5 California, similar size to your van. We use a double sleeping bag - excellent in the colder weather. From Camping World in Horsham.
A sleeping bag would certainly be cosy for the winter 👍🙂 We may bump into you around Sussex 😊
Merry Christmas ( or Happy Christmas) to you both. Hope covid ends soon cause I want to see where you go next.
Thanks Samantha, we do too. It’s not looking good here in the UK at the moment. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you 🎄🎅🏻⛄️
its nice to see a couple your age who still talk to each other and can be together in tight quarters :D*, i am new to your channel and have enjoyed the journey so far. the uk is a beauriful place. thank you for sharing
Welcome to our channel and thank you for your lovely comment. It definitely helps if you get on with each other living in such a small place 😆
I always look forward to seeing your latest video. They are interesting and calming at the same time. Does your van have a spare tyre, and if so, where is it stored? Happy Christmas to you both. 🎄⛄🎅
Thanks Ian. Yes the van has a full size spare underneath the floor. I think the van trade probably insist on this as deliveries have to be able to keep rolling. 👍
Next time you’re near Selsey take a trip to Pagham. Although the town isn’t particularly interesting there’s a partially submerged section of Mulberry Harbour in the sea left over from DDay . I’d love to some drone footage of it.
Thanks for the tip. That will be worth checking out with the drone 👍😊
A vicarious sea side visit, thank you very much. The image quality on your shore walk is superb.
Keep meaning to ask does your DAB radio work ? I put one in my transporter and its useless unless parked. Ed
I read the other day that cat sand ( silicone) in socks stacked on the dash, works well against condensation. I have yet to try it
We have tried cat litter but it made no difference for us. I have finally learned to just embrace the condensation and make sure it only forms where I want it. The bubble wrap certainly works at keeping it away from where we don’t 😁👍
If you want bedding look at Duverlay they are based in Yorkshire and they make bedding for Motorhome/campervan ......very good.
Thanks Maxine. We were looking at changing our bedding to something non-allergenic and have gone for the wool option 😊
You can stop the windows from fogging up if you wipe it with a little soap. Just a little bit, so you can hardily see it. No more fogging 🧐
Looks like it was a good outing after all is said and done. Despite the weather, how did you EVER pass up the ice cream truck? Looked like a good spot to forego masks for a bit while hiking. I live near a National Park in Virginia, USA which has a wealth of hiking areas, and with the onset of colder weather, very few hikers. Take care and hope the virus shots will return us to a more normal life by summer 2021.
The ice cream van did have some customers, but it was too cold for us! You live in a lovely part of the world for hiking with plenty of open space and fresh air. Yes, we are looking forward to being able to travel freely again, hopefully next year 🤞😊👍
Cooking during day, then putting food into flask pots - and boiled water into a couple of 2ltr flasks - avoids the condensation. If you can get over 400-500w solar panels on the roof, even in winter, you should be able to power up batteries for a microwave via a 1500w inverter, or electric portable hob. Calor gas causes a lot of condensation when it burns. Rainx spray on the windows also stops them fogging, but you can't put it on tinted windows, only factory tinted glass, or the windscreen and driver-passenger windows. Plastic conservatory sheeting from the DIY store, taped over the interior windows can be used to make cheap DIY double glazing in winter months, and doesn't fog up.
Some bloody good tips coming from you Hugh. Thanks very much appreciated 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Only just discovered you, searching for sussex locations, so a lot of channel catchup. The only other rain thing I forgot - Gortex rainwear! It's pricey, but you can dry it out with paper towels when you get inside. Gortex everything. Shoes, pants, coat, hat. Put some free newspapers on the van floor, then seal everything up in a plastic bag.
Excellent video carol & Ken as usual. A question on wild camping. So when you was camping on that housing estate how would you have dealt with a knock at the door during the early hours ???? Just curious.
First of all turn all the lights off and look out the window to see who it is. Then either ignore the knock until they go away or deal with the person. The risk is very low. Dead end so little traffic. We arrived in the dark. Left early. Legally parked 👍
We went to that little church in the Spring but the doors were locked.
We did wonder if it was open but thought it looked locked from what we could see from the drone footage 😊👍
Another great vlog Ken and Carol. Some good drone footage and lovely sunsets over Selsy beach. Wishing you both a very Happy Christmas and New Year. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Grumpy. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year as well 👍
Lovely! Please keep safe both in tier 4 😔
@@LifeistooshortCK we’re still in tier 4 here in Brum. I truly hope the news doesn’t ruin your Christmas 😔
@@steveb1972 our part of Sussex is still in Tier 2. We had decided not to see family this year anyway so will have to make do with FaceTime 😊 We are keen to get away in the New Year so will have to see what happens next 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♀️

Some time ago you mentioned while driving thru Billingshurst that you would be back for a walk round the area..., is that still on the agenda?
I'm an expat since about 40 years and grew up in the Coolham/Billingshurst/Wisborough Green area. Our family have fled the area in the meantime, so i've no reason to go back there.
Would be great to see some of that area from where I have so many good childhood memories.
Stay safe, greets from Switzerland, Steve.
We have Billingshurst on our itinerary for a future video but don’t know exactly when we will be visiting that area 😊 Greetings to you in Switzerland, keep safe and have a Merry Christmas ⛄️🎅🏻🎄
hi thanks for the video was great can you tell me was that a wheather station in the kitchen when you were showing the usb lead if yes do you have a link for it many thanks stay safe and merry xmass
It is a weather station with three transmitters. I normally put one outside the van in the trough just below the windscreen, one next to the water container and one by our lithium leisure battery as you shouldn’t charge it when its below zero. We bought it many years ago in John Lewis. That one is made by a company called Oregon. Not sure you can get them now.
Hi, what make of drone have you got? As the picture quality is brilliant.😊
A Mavic Air 2. Don’t buy one as the drone laws have just changed. I now recommend the Mavic Mini 2. Mine is on order and the details are in our Amazon link in the comments.
just do what i do with that rice lay packet down on one side hit with rolling pin 2 times flip pack over repeat with rolling pin....done lol
I love the idea of a camper van, mini or otherwise. Do you mind if I ask, is it an expensive leisure pursuit? You seem to economise well which I am good at doing. Of course this is all subject to coronavirus and the aftermath (hopefully). Thanks.
Once you have bought the van it can be cheap. The vans cost a fortune but if you have simple DIY skills you can convert one yourself. Many people have done so on CZcams. Quite a few are converting cars as well these days 👍
For LPG refills, do you exchange tanks or refill on board tank? US is almost all exchange except for household tanks.
Recently retired. Looking to buy a camper car, inspired by your wonderful videos. How do you obtain licensed music for your videos?
Hi Alan we can certainly recommend getting one. As for music I use a company called Artlist which is a paid service. The thing that makes them different is that you buy the licence forever so there is no need to have a continuing subscription. If you don’t want to pay CZcams also offer their own free music. 👍
I like how relaxed you are! It's nice to see how respectful you are towards each other.
Thanks Adrienne, we try our best 😊
