Can we just appreciate the fact that these two musicians actually show their mistakes, but move on, and keep the integrity of their sight-reading experience by not editing it all out.
I know this could easily be done with a retake, but I find it encouraging to young musicians (as a wind-band music teacher) that they show that, they too, struggle and make mistakes.
Thanks TwoSet. :) My kids, and I, love your channel.
Yes. I'm not a musician but i watch their videos because they show their mistakes, that they are human beings and fully embrace it while also using that as motivation to practice more. They take violin very seriously but they don't take life too seriously. They are such healthy inspirations. 😍
And with openly admitting their mistakes, it adds to the quality of their content. Sure, it may be funny, but it also shows that to be “a good musician,” you can still make mistakes. I am a violist, and I find this content incredibly fun to watch; entertaining, and even properly educational at times. Anyways, I do agree with what you said, they are worth watching for a multitude of reasons!
I felt the sincerity and truthfulness in this message. Thank you for inspiring me, Mark!
True and amazing
Yes- it's great to see it genuinely represented!
A moment of silence for those who can hear whole symphonies and concerts in their head but can't put them in score
Take classes! It would be a shame if people never got to hear those pieces.
(Im a self taught composer) Take classes, or if not teach yourself stuff... Studying counterpoint and other composition stuff on your own isnt that hard hehe... So long as you have a main idea to build on, writing it out is as wonderful is as playing or hearing it...
Me!
Me 😭 I literally resort to humming the melody and recording it in hopes that one day I'll know how to write it
Don't give up. I am very bad at composing, but as long as you have an instrument (piano might be best for a start to visualize the notes as the layout is always the same, no matter in what octave you are), you just have to find the first note(s) and then try writing it from there. This "relative pitch" thing, where you find the note based on other notes (for example the first note/the note before) could be really useful in figuring it all out somehow. Maybe it could help you, but maybe not because I have no composing lessons, nor have i ever written a classical piece completely...
They’re legit having fun playing that “oui, oui, non, non” lol

Ian Barnett, you are a genius. You have achieved a very nice string quartet-ish sound from nothing but two violins. This piece is on par with Schubert and Mendelssohn, and very much resembles their style. I'd love to see you turn this into a full string quartet work. Your contribution to the body of literature in the style is already significant. Thank you for sharing it!

I love it when they start a piece and they smile, and then they lose the smile not because they don't like the piece but because they are concentrating so hard on making every note right and really representing the effort put into it by the composer. So these kids literally compose beautiful classical music while going through highschool!? And I couldn't even pass my math exam back then!
Mendelssohn wrote his Octet for Strings when he was 16. I won't even mention what Wolfie was doing at that age, it just makes us all feel inadequate. Problem is, takes 20-50-100-200-300 years for Time, the Ultimate Critic, to weed out the chaff from the wheat. I bet you there were tens of thousands of composers back in those days.. and we remember / worship / study what... maybe 200 of 'em, across all the instruments? The rest are the BRitney Spears, etc of their eras. This twoset thing... both Brett and Eddy and the fandom -- seems to instantly eliminate the banal and bubble up the true music, no matter when it was written, or by whom. Which is why these two lads + editor chan have become my beacon.

Me: plays a note in tune
"Oh sorry, that's out of character"
The second piece is just fantastic, especially the baroque part. It starts off sounding like Bach's Chaconne.
Petition to bring back this series!
Your wish has been granted, Part 4 is coming soon ! 😊👍🏼
this is literally the most talented fandom omg
Fantasia through the eras is a masterpiece is there any actual recording of it
I think TwoSet should give a concert with a selection of the best of these prodegy compositions. Then they should make a recording and make that music publicly available.
@@KaroAss66 That would be awesome!
I loved that one! Well done, Maggie.
@@KaroAss66 That's a great idea, but as far as recording I'm sure there'd be an issue with copyright/permission
Yeah, that's my favorite too, especially the Classical era section.
13:33 LMAOOOO the start of comedic alibi for camera cut out 😭😭 they done just added photos of them w the violin
Hey! I don't play an instrument (I'm a singer) and can't compose at all but I just want to say great job to all the composers showcased in these videos!! Y'all do a fantastic job and it's so lovely to hear and know that it was made from you guys! So talented!!
The second composition is one of the best pieces I’ve ever heard composed for two violins, and I’ve listened to a lot of classical music
Same here, it is amazing!
The subs on this channel is definitely one of the most talented groups out there.
And it seems this is going to be a Permanent series
It should absolutely be a permanent series these compositions are really good.
I hope so
The time travel romantic era was so beautiful
5:10 eddy really enjoyed this classical theme I can tell. So did I, I feel like some of these you guys should practice and revisit they deserve it.
Who still remebers the absolut incredible piece by Alex LaMotte?
Me. I love that one!
Me!!!! God, i want it in my wedding
Omg same lolol, that one's still my favorite! I'm so glad twoset is continuing this as a series
still love it till today
Could you provide the link to the video please?
I know we all loved the "oui oui non non" piece but let's appreciate the second and the third one more because they're really great. As Eddy said I liked how both of them managed to get a full sound with only 2 violins and as a violinist myself it's really nice to see that the 1st and 2nd violin parts make sense yk because there are composers who have amazing ideas but since they don't actually play the instrument there can be some double stops or chords really uncomfortable almost impossible to play, which makes it hard to express the composer idea properly. So yeah props to these young people! Really great composers!
Agree! The second and the third piece are good. I'm impressed those young talented composer can catch the sounds of old era like that. Not only new but sounds so nostalgic too.
Thanks so much! [Composer of the second one :)]
@@maggielumusic You just gained another subscriber!
@@K-Viz Thank you!
@@maggielumusic gained another subscriber. That was amazing.
I really liked the 2nd piece, the transition, then how well the two blended... and also how great brett and eddy, sight read and blended those amazingly😍😍😍
Ps. I'm watching this while in the mid of Google meet😂😂😂
Edit: what was that😳😳14:16
The first piece is fun, the second is ingenious, the third is elegant, the fourth is clever. aMaZiNg young composers!
