- When you hear the name “oil cake” it’s sounds a special occasion or celebration. The traditional dish is simple and authentic not only for Sri Lankans but it is an authentic dish in many part of India. In Kerala it is known as Neyyappam by adding ghee. Kids love this dish and the snack is quite popular. You can explore a well detailed recipe in my video.
Ingredients
2 cup raw rice (Idly rice)
200 or 250g jaggery
1/2 cup water
4 tbsp flour (maida)
1/2 tsp or a bit more salt
1/2 tbsp cumin or funnel seeds (Optional)
1/2 tsp cardamom powder (Optional)
Oil for frying
