Some of us actually do have BPD and are Bipolar, we still know better not to fall asleep with bleach IN your hair. It’s still chemicals and what do chemicals do when you leave it on human skin. It will cause chemical burns and extreme irritation. Stop using mental illnesses as an excuse to being extremely moronic. If you fall asleep with your bleach in your hair; You ARE NOT BRIGHT and should definitely not be using bleach to begin with.

Most folks at Sally’s are just regular folks working there.
They’re not going in blind when it comes to hair, but they’re not going to know every little in-depth thing like a professional would. It’s usually just everyday average people not in the business of hair styling/working in a salon, but they know their way around some bleach powder, dyes, and toners compared to the random Tom, Dick, and Mary walking down the street.
Most of the time, though, they’re just using basic business practices that are unspoken, but known amongst most places:
Sell a customer a product, tell them that it is what they need, what it will do, etc.. They use it, and it’s not enough or it didn’t turn out the way they expect. They come back and complain about it. They’re sold more product or a product that will fix it … hook, line, and sinker. They like their results and will come back again for another round of purchasing products in the future. With the internet and the plethora of information/tutorials out there for free, though ... there is zero reason why anyone should be going into a store like Sally’s without some basic knowledge on what they need. Never rely on anyone working anywhere to tell you stuff unless they’re a professional that spent time to actually be certified to give out such info lol, otherwise do your own research if you’re DIYing, folks.

Oh my god, I got a round brush stuck in a client's hair in my first year - Was doing a bouncy blow wave. (my boss was a nasty peice of work) and i remember freaking out so badly that she would yell at me, that after an hour of trying to get it out - i burst into tears. In that whole hour I was pretending everything was fine, because I didn't want my client to freak out. But eventually i just couldn't do it.
It was a boar bristle brush, a really big one and it got like matted stuck - which my head stylist told me later, was because the brush was old and had melted bristles.
We got the brush out, but we had to cut one cm long chunk out at the end. I cried so much and apoligised for the remainder of the service. Luckily the client was chill and just laughed it off, saying she'd had her hair fried off by another Apprentice so she wasn't stressed. (like, bleach melting her hair off her scalp type of fried)
But it sticks to me to this day. I'm always more careful with everything I do. My cutting, styling or colouring.
And your video's make me learn more, make me realise more and... It's different learning from a hairdresser, then a teacher. So thank you :) And whenever i can relate to you, it helps me to realise that everyone makes mistakes. Because sometimes it feels like nobody makes mistakes but me. So thank you :)

When I was about 12, my mother went out for a minute, while I was in the shower, and I had a great idea: I'm gonna blow dry my hair. Of course the round brush got immediately stuck close to my roots. Luckily, we lived nextdoor to my grandmother, who had the patience to untangle it, but it took lot of time and a crochet hook

Used to get sleeping knots in my hair as a kid. My gramps was my hairdresser back then xD One time the knot was so bad it was almost felt, and it came pretty close that I just lost a clump of hair from the back of my head. Luckily gramps was patient, although I didn't like the process at all :D

In beauty school one of the girls had those curling irons that kind of sucks your hair inside (automatic hair curler) and her hair got stuck inside it, she could not get it out forever...

@@Littlemouse_ uh no it isn’t 🤣 I’ve been bleaching and dying my hair for YEARS. I have NEVER in my life fallen asleep with bleach in my hair, even in the middle of the night. Let alone have never met any other person that has actually done that. And I’m bipolar and have BPD and ADHD. I’m defined as crazy as most females can actually be, YET have never left bleach in my hair while sleeping. Nobody should be doing this.. Really, if your going to bleach your hair.. remember to fully wash it out. You can get chemical burns and extreme scalp irritation from leaving it in your hair longer than 45 minutes. Which is why people don’t fall asleep with it in their hair.. It really doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Even though I am a natural redhead and would never dye my hair, I would love to see Brad come out with natural colors in his hair color line. So shades of brown, black, etc. When people use his colored hair dye, their hair always comes out looking so healthy, so it would look nice in a natural shade too for those that aren't risk takers or want color.

Maybe after dying your hair a bunch of colors when you want that same treatment but something natural you can go back. Or maybe you want to mix the natural shades with a more vibrant color to give your color some more dimension, don’t act like her comment doesn’t make sense it does and people would buy it.

I was literally thinking this earlier today. Seeing how vibrant and healthy his colors are, he should have a line of natural colors for those wanting to do something not as out there and also provide that vibrancy, and good stuff for the hair! Think it would be especially beneficial for a white/gray/silver color for those who start to gray and want to embrace it!!
That moment talking about getting a brush stuck in client's hair is literally my life. I have naturally curly hair and EVERY SINGLE TIME I see a new stylist, they think it's a great idea to whip out the good old round brush. I tell them to put that thing away because it will get stuck in my hair and they just give me that look like "I'm a professional, I know what I'm doing". 30 seconds later, that brush is stuck in my hair and they're apologizing while having a mini-panic. Now I'm not mean to them about it, but damn I told you so.
Sadly, that has been my experience as well. And not just with round brushes. Like I know my hair, so if I tell you it absorbs a lot of color product or isn't safe for round brushes, trust me. You may be the professional but I live with my hair everyday. I definitely know how it behaves better than you.

I had to painstakingly remove a round brush from the beautiful curly locs of a crying flower girl at a wedding once because a bridesmaid decided the she should have a blowout too… smh had to cut a lil bit of hair but saved it for the most part. Poor kid

No Brad. The worst case scenario happened to me. I was dying my hair and in the middle of rinsing my hair a pipe burst on the street. We didn't have water for three days. I ended up with my hair all stained with multiple colours all patchy because I wasn't able to rinse it all in one siting

PLEASE, use the pointy part of a comb, when your brush is stuck in your hair. Gently stick the pointy part in and push the hair out of the brush. It helped my long hair from being cut off 👍🏻

I can say that while I was at the salon one time getting my hair cut, bleached, and dyed purple I completely fell asleep for almost all five hours I was there getting my hair done to the extent that I didn’t even remember telling my hairdresser what type of layers I wanted her to do and when I woke up I was surprised at how great my hair looked and how long it had actually been.
Awwwww... There's so many parts I love about this. That you were comfy enough around people to fall asleep. That the hair dresser just went on like nah she good she needs the sleep. And that you woke up bootiful hahahahaha I love it
I fell asleep during a root canal... but that was prior to my knowing I had sleep apnea - you might want to get checked. It's a killer.

I've been watching Brad since he had like, 1000 subscribers. And I gotta say-- he's really reigned in the vibe. For a while, he seemed to be doing a bit of an (annoying) act for an audience he thought he wanted, but since he catapulted to millions of subs, he's figured out how to become super real and very much himself on camera. I like that. I think that anyone who needs hair advice/education, this is THE resource and it's awesome that so many people have come to love him.
