    I'm a conservative. We differ in perspectives because I think you trust government power way too much. Power corrupts whether its rich people or politicians. Giving politicians and bureaucrats more power to confiscate money and determine who deserves what is never going to help mankind.

      Believe me I don’t trust the government. I do however trust a truly democratically elected and accountable government more than I do corporations and billionaires, but sadly American doesn’t have this. But my trust is in the people of any nation to govern themselves, and not to be ruled by money hungry capitalists.

    I'm a conservative, and it boggles my mind when those with liberal views seem to think that the "Right" has to borrow or "adopt working class ascetics to pretend to care about the working class". As someone who has grown up very poor and struggled with so many of the things life has thrown at me, I am part of the working class along with the vast majority of "The Right" we genuinely care for the poor and those who are in a similar station of class as ourselves not always knowing if the house of cards we balance daily will tumble because of a big bill or life event. So that you understand, I hold my views because I truly believe it provides the best opportunity for the individual to climb out of poverty and provide for those he supports and himself instead of depending on the government to support him. The problem ends up being that anytime government and those in power grow too large, the poor and middle class get squeezed and people suffer. It is a power issue because inherently power corrupts absolutely and if you believe the intentions of those on the other side are only after power and that they are evil in how they think then you've bought the narrative those in power are selling to instill a class warfare mentally. If you're approaching all things with the presupposition that the intention of those on the other side are only evil, then the divide will remain and solutions will be more difficult to find. That said, the reason this song hits so hard globally is it speaks to the individual who struggles to make ends meet only to be trampled on by those in power (LEFT, RIGHT, LIBERAL, AND CONSERVATIVE) it's a working class anthem that so many people around the world can relate to. I no longer believe that those on the left or liberals in general are evil, but instead I want to help tear down misconceptions that help to divide us as people. ~Cheers

      It is for anyone who likes it, but politically, it is actually for the right wing... this not for the left of politics by any means although normal left leaning people (not heavy into politics) can relate to most the lyrics...... The comments about welfare etc though. The left loves welfare & hates "body shaming" etc. There is a reason they calling it a 'right-wing anthem' in the media. Attacking the "new world" is attacking the left & how they flipping everything upside down... Dont get it confused as if it portrays a neutral stance on politics. This politically is a right wing song for sure & the leftists out there vibing with it are simply confused people who are likely more right wing then they think.

      The only people who can represent and liberate the working class are themselves. Their used to be a thriving union movement in the US that gave working people a voice in politics but that has been systematically destroyed and they are now left with two parties who both hate them.
      The only way to improve life for the millions of Americans living in misery is unity among the working class to start a movement that fights for their interest against the wishes of the powerful. But aside all the culture war bullshit for now, and unite for your common interests.

      @@TWReactzActually at no point since the 1930s in the US have Unions worked for the workers, the Unions worked for one party to ensure more government funding for the Union, not help the workers. When Union leaders became supper rich during WW2 you basically became focused on keeping the Union leaders rich and making them richer, all the time taking more and more from the workers.
      In the US the states where workers do the best, have the most take home pay and have the best job security with the best working conditions are states where union membership is optional. The states where workers do the worst in every aspect are states that protect unions.
      Also your view of Republicans in the US is highly biased and based entirely on propaganda and lies.
      The democrat party in the US is totalitarian, with fascist agendas and ideals. The democrat party have been the only ones to actually strip welfare or social support systems to protect and enrich their elite donors. The republican party have since the early 2000s been pushing for and passed laws protecting social security, food stamps, medicare and medicaid. Do more research and use non biased sources.
      To give a legitimate view of how the US political parties positions compare to European politics. In the UK the republicans and their policies would make them Center left. In the UK the democrat party based on their policies and agendas would be called a radical far left party. The democrat party are actually farther left on every issue than any communist party in Europe. While the republicans actually fall closer in line with the policies of the Labor Party in the early 2000s.

Most working people don’t care about the specifics of politics they just wanna put food on the table and a roof over their head. And when I say working class I don’t mean ‘lower class’ at all. In my mind there are two classes: those that work and those that own. The working class, if united, has all the power, but so often those that own find way to turn workers against each other so they never have that United power.

    I understand how you may feel this has an aura of past United Front workers unite type songs, but when you listen to the lyrics it’s quite the opposite. While yes he’s frustrated with low wages and poor working conditions, the main focus of the song revolves around an over-assertive government, who infringes on peoples rights, over taxes the citizens, as it fails to take care of those in need at various levels of society. Case in point the Maui fires. People lost who lost everything were insulted with a $700 check from the government. I watched an interview from a Maui resident who stated the only help people are getting is coming from the churches, the government has not only fail to help but has often got in the way by withholding supplies and donations. I don’t think he has socialism in mind as the answer!

      No I doubt he does have socialism in mind. But you don’t need to be a socialist to see all the massive issues with the American economy, like the example you mentioned with Maui.
      Most Americans are not socialists, but I think most Americans agree that billionaires have a bit too much money, corporations have a big too much control, and working people get fuck over by both their bosses and their politicians. I have sympathy for anyone affected by this, whether they’re a trump supporter or a socialist, everyone deserves a life of freedom, health and dignity.

      @@TWReactz The largest contributor to the current decline of America’s economy comes from the adoption of draconian covid policies gifted to us from the Chinese Communist Party. If you look at China you will notice despite their attempts to flower, or flat out lie about their economic numbers, their economy is doing far worse than those in the west. America’s economic problems right now is primarily a result of the governments interference with the natural order of capitalism.
      Regarding billionaires having too much money…how do you determine the sum total a given person is entitled to? It’s quite arrogant to tell someone who took the risk to start a business, making personal sacrifices to guide it to success that they are only entitled to a fraction of the money they earned. Regarding the size of corporations, there are antitrust laws. Now I will agree there are issues which need to be addressed, such as campaign finance, as well as how we fund regulatory agencies and who can serve in them. However, under capitalism you have options which socialism does not offer. Capitalism allows you the choice to not do business with any corporation you like while socialism limits you to what the state is willing to offer!

I watched victory stolen from him at the caucuses online in 2016. Then the Democrats rallied against him in 2020, when he was in the lead. So that one was a loss. But both times he acted like they popped him on the nose with a newspaper, and said behave. I am both a conservative and a Trump or bust supporter. No one will be dictating to me who I can vote for. If they remove his name from the ballot, I will gladly write in Donald J Trump. I watched online live video of it being stolen from him too. My state waited a year before it’s high court ruled that about triple the votes that he supposedly lost by were illegal votes. I watched the officials that certify the votes in Michigan be threatened and the lives of their young children be threatened, with the address of their home and schools being posted on the Zoom public meeting. I watched many states do illegal things, and even Republican governors sweep it under the rug. They are still publicly lying to this day, right alongside of the media, saying Trump lost his cases. None of his cases went to court, courts were violating the laws not setting hearing dates for his election challenges. Citizens and states cases were lost except for the belated one in my state . The lawyer that he had for specific portions of his Georgia case would have beat the breaks off of the Democrats and never Trumpers in court. He has one of the best win rates in the federal court, and published his case filling on line. It’s part of why they didn’t put the phony charges on him in Georgia with the rest of them. The evidence would have automatically come into his defense case. They fear him, because though he is from wealth, he has always worked with, and helped the working class. He identifies with the working class more. I don’t think it was ever that the bougie really liked him. It was just that he was a force to be reckoned with, and they’re finding out that he still is. I have not always liked what he’s done in life, but I’ve known where his heart is. I apologize for ranting on your page.

I honestly think that until you like in the usa and especially a demonrats blue state your whole outlook on the left with change. You’ll ask yourself how was I so blind to not see this. First off if you struggled to pay bills put groceries on the table working 90-100 hours a week for very little due to inflation. struggling with decisions like do I pay the light bill and have the gas shut off or do I pay my rent and lose my utilities?
      Until you get there you will never understand the hardships that we face with a demented mentally ill “president”.
      I respect your views but what I can’t respect is your “opinion” on anything to do with America. And until you actually experience struggle us Americans are dealing with, which is obvious you never have had to struggle to pay bills or supporting a family while under this clown we have in office compared to trump then your opinion is irrelevant to the United States. Just do your due diligence and look up these issues and what and who caused them.
      This is why most states are now red bc what Biden has caused is so extreme with inflation that no one can afford anything. Gas food mortgage taxes insurance electricity have skyrocketed so high that no one can afford anything while supporting a family.

Trump won over the working class because he is pro-business and people who work see that their plight is lessened if there are more jobs which makes the working mans labors worth more. In my opinion, most of the working class would dump both parties if their was an actual effective party that took care of the minimal basic things government should do and then stepped out of the effing way and let us all live the way we want to live.

      100% agree that the average working person would dump either party if a truly working class party arose. The left in America didn’t get too left, they got too liberal, and that’s on purpose. The left Democratic Party became co-opted by corporations so ditched their commitments to the working class and instead only focused on social issues.
      America a needs a new party, and I think the best way for that to happen is for a party to be born out of the growing labour and union movement in the US. Unions are the best voice the average working man can have in politics and a true Labour Party could represent the interests of the average working person.

The gun lobby is one such group but they're are plenty to go around on all sides. Here, people on the left seem to think we can solve everything by throwing money at it without significantly regulating how it can be used(fudge rounds=keep having babies because it brings money into the till), and our right, help us Lord, our right doesn't think at all, they just vote for their team like a football game thinking that if the right wins, hey we got the game. People on the left know their party doesn't support them which is obvious when they are all in power things that could bring real change and really help people doesn't happen as politicians are afraid they won't win re-election, but they KNOW what will happen if they vote for the right-maga-mania. Our right has started to get things done for their voters but only the most radical of the right, and our people on the right, bless them, they think that these people they elect are actually like them, looking out for them, as they look out for corporations, doctors, lawyers, people who never worry about missing a meal, and billionaires and whatever ways they need to keep billionaires using our money to get richer. They literally don't think at all, not saying the are stupid it's much much worse, they just vote for the team and delude themselves into believing their team has the organized evangelicals in their pockets and business people(like well they gotta be smart right) so they just must be the best. So, they came up with the branching roots of critical theory to make the working class, and especially the "ghetto class," as they said, so angry and beaten down that they would revolt.
    Then critical theory was adopted by elitists because they see its utility to keep the people at eachothers throats while they sieze power.

    I hate admitting class warfare is real but it is. Some type of regulated markets but as free as inherent altruism will allow it be, which isn’t much, but if held accountable by the masses it’s our best bet

    He's not talking about "Rich people" in Washington. He is specifically talking about the US Government. Politicians in Washington DC. Who all seem to get rich somehow despite Government salary being relatively modest (Corruption). Richmond was also the Capital of the Confederate States during the Civil War, which was not only fought over slavery, but also Northern Banks and industrialists Vs Southern Plantation owners. Aka Rich people on both sides sending poor people to die over their money. Which is why Southern Iconography's role in American Culture is so misunderstood and debated in the US.
    You are right at the beginning. This is, historically, a Leftist song. Southern culture is heavily imbedded into the culture of the Working class, and the South that owned slaves were leftists, and the Right Wing North Republicans were Slave Abolitionists. It was only when Right WIng Republicans started bringing economic prosperity to the South in the decades following the Civil War, did many southerners turn from Left Wing to Right Wing politics. Making American Right Wing politics and the Republican Party becoming the party of the Working class, and the Left Wing Democrats being the Party of wealthy corporations and expensive, elitist Academic institutions.

    He has openly validated that this song is about the right wing GOP, & is finding it rather amusing that they're playing it at public events such as the recent debate for GOP presidential nominees. 😆

If you want to talk about corporate American fucking over everyday people, talk about how oil and Gad companies have managed to throw so much doubt on whether climate change is even happening, when there’s an incredibly strong scientific consensus on the matter. Corporate propaganda is strong.

    I really liked your review and wow what a powerful and great song - you seem like a very intelligent young man. So, I encourage you. If I may, just a word of caution, all the socialist governments that ever gained control - they will eventually break the hearts of the true believers in socialism. They end up making everyone "equal" - equally poor with no opportunity to get ahead. It's ok if you don't like what I'm saying - just keep it in the back of your mind when you study this subject. Socialism is actually the best system for the elites because it prevents any competition on their wealth. And they end up with total control for the good of the people. It's a false promise.

    Wow what a great observation: if Woody Guthrie had written this song in the 1930s it would have been considered a left wing song. I guess what updates it to 2023 is the reference to people taking advantage of government assistance. That bugged some people, not to mention the reference to obese people. If I could have changed one thing I would have left that out. Besides being "fatphobic" it feeds into our (often subconscious) stereotypes over here: he didn't say she was a black or brown obese woman milking the system, but some of his critics went there. Where he lives in the southern part of Virginia and neighboring West Virginia and Kentucky, most people are white. You really have to go to rural and small town America to realize how many white people are living in poverty . Urban and suburban white people sometimes don't realize that. The urban poor are more likely to be people of color. Anyway, I think the frustration here in America is that the rich take care of themselves, and the unemployed and disabled are at least nominally taken care of. The regular working people these days feel like they are on their own, and forgotten except when they are being used as ATM machines.
    There is some confusion about the line I wish politicians would look out for miners, and not just minors on an island somewhere. It's a play on words, and sometimes gets garbled if you turn on auto subtitles say, or are just hearing what you think he said. He is talking about coal miners. The coal mining industry has collapsed in his part of the country and people are hurting. Some people thought he was talking about looking out for minors. That gets him dragged into our culture wars. It's all about the supposed dangers of drag queens and gay/transgendered people and secret child trafficking rings in Hollywood and who knows what else. It's a rabbit hole he did not go down, but others did.

    It is as much a song for the left as it is for the right. Those at the top don't care either way. Your attitude that only left care about working class shows the problem, not every answer to a problem is tax rises. Biggest change to the poor in the UK would be getting rid of VAT. You need to open your mind to different opinions, no point in having empathy if your stuck in 1 point of view.

    • @TWReactz
      @TWReactz  Před 11 měsíci

      I literally did say that VAT is bad, and of course tax isn’t the solution, but the right kind of taxes on the right kind of people can help a lot. Neither democrats or republicans are the solution to the working classes problems. The working class are the solution themselves. There used to be a thriving union movement that gave working people a voice in politics but since that’s been systematically destroyed. Regaining that is what America needs, it gave the average American power, becuase power comes in unity and numbers. Americans need to put aside all the culture war bullshit and fight the real enemies, corrupt politicians, corporate oligarchs and money hungry capitalists.

      @@TWReactz dude I am from Scotland I was talking about UK, sorry I kind of went from 1 topic to the other without making it clear. I am hopeful this song can be a springboard for calmer discussions over here, I am centre left and all the parties are mental. I understand the appeal of socialism but it only works in smaller settings as it is to easily corrupted at scale. We do need to alter the system but also create safety nets outside of governments, fruits and vegetables should be cheaper than "fudge rounds" for example and many ways to do that just ask farmers ( they would love to tell supermarkets to do one). No agendas or anything here dude, just want everyone to chill and fix what's broken before we argue about progress.

    It's amazing how much I agree with what you're saying even though I disagree with you're conclusions on what policies should be made. I think you trust the government too much to use taxes well.

    • @TWReactz
      @TWReactz  Před 11 měsíci

      I don’t trust government at all in the slightest. I would however trust the government slightly more than private corporations to deliver things like healthcare, education, energy, transport etc. at least the government has a shred of accountability whereas corporations are solely out for profit.
      The solution however, to having a bad government, isn’t to hand over all the power the government has to private corporations, corporations have even less accountability integrity or trustworthiness than the government. The solution is the improve ether government through massive democratic reform.

    • @thomasnicklaus6836
      @thomasnicklaus6836 Před 11 měsíci

      @@TWReactz I definitely hear you on not wanting to give corporations more power. However, they do a better job of managing money than the government. Also, less money in the hands of the government would mean more money in the hands of citizens and small businesses too.
      The only way to help people get from the bottom to the top is having a merit-based system. The more power the gov't has, the less people's effort changes their outcome. If the consequence of a merit-based system is that private corporations are filthy rich, so be it. It's also worth noting that big corporations supply lots of jobs, the gov't doesn't.
      For clarification, I'm not advocating limitless capitalize, it still needs its checks and balances. I am however advocating for less government and more money in the hands of the people.
