The C-packs deactivated (dark gray) is a good addition to the kit because it can be painted without sacrificing the activated mode (the pink one?). I'mma paint mine in Cosmic Metallic Blue or just Shiny Silver!
I also opted for the inactive mode, looks more interesting than the pyscho frame
And because of that, it can also be replicated using a mold, if you feel like duplicating that many parts and keeping track of it, and then use resin to cast inside the molds and have it be clear or other opaque or translucent/clear colors.
There's apparently supposed to be a cosmic blue version as a power up variant. But they didn't put it in this
Good point
@@LoliconSamalik cuz that would be Pbandai duh, like Unicorn got a bazilion variant
The plastic-type stickers brings me back the Jewel-type stickers on old-gundam torsos or how they manufactured like that. ( Particularly MG Shining Gundam's shiny green jewel sticker )
Really like this video format! Can't wait for the next part
im so excited for this kit
Love it! That head sculpt is fantastic
Love the video, like hearing your thought process and all the details.
I love the colours you picked. Im very excited to see it finished.
I love this format of video! Great job!
Definitely can't wait to get my Narrative Gundam. Great custom idea and review Zak.
Thanks for the review man. Hope you and your family are doing good. Can't wait to see your finished custom on this one as well.
I think the color pallet you chose is very interesting, can’t wait to see the final result!
I can't wait to see your final build. Great video btw!
Thanks! Me too!
Why there's no in hand shot of the kit Zack you let me down Zack Why????
Thanks zack for the video keep it up! More old hguc reviews would be awesome!
I have two coming specifically so I can build a "what if" completed version of the Narrative. Very excited.
That shoes color scheme + a fedora hat = PERRY THE GUNDAM
I’m not sure why I expected the deactivated psychoframe to be like a smoky clear dark grey opposed to opaque solid grey.
great review! cant wait for some mad lad modeler to custom build a1/100 A packs for it.
Damn that's cool, I'll prefer it on base armor instead of the psycho frame.
22:13 looks cool!
You can ALSO get the white color Shield DE from the perfectibility unicorn.
I have a spare Beam Magnum I might use on this as well.
i might have to pick this up as my first UC MG, i was gonna stick to 1/144 UC for consistency (and to save my wallet) but the HG c-packs was my very first ever gunpla and I'm sentimental
When I started gunpla i was all about the hg, now I realize that I much rather have fewer but larger and better kits. I’d say get this one, it looks like an incredible kit packed full of awesome engineering that would be a joy to build.
I wonder if they are going to make a A-packs conversion... that would be pretty awesome. I heard that this kit was pretty solid, I hope to get my hands on it sometime soon.
They could make an expansion pack since there are some obvious hardpoints already for the B-packs so it's there's a high chance they will
I'll wait for the MG Narrative A Pack.
21:40 you might have forgotten to rotate the pilot figure in the core fighter.
Fun fact: The nu gundams fin funnel backpack actully goes on perfectly to the narrative, its not mentioned anywhere on anything
Very odd there’s not even a tiny mention of it in the manual 🤔
@@ZakuAurelius right! Even if its a nice callback to the fact the narrative is a inbetween the unicorn & the nu. But yea!
I have to say out the this, the nu and unicorn I think this is my favorite. And that's saying alot. Mabey the fact it's simple and has a core fighter like the grandaddy... sometimes though. 😊
Great build guide, really clear instructions! 👍🤖
Especially with the inner frame painting I'd be curious about the durability of paints. No matter how I coat my kits after the paint job, I find myself not wanting to handle them anymore. had a action base scrape some of the inner leg paint right off exposing the primer grey
Hopefully this suggestion isn't too late! Instead of the silver deactive psycho plates, you could instead take this opportunity to resin cast the psycho plate into a clear teal colour and keep the 2 tone white/cream combination of the shoe!
Are those hose plastic stickers the same as the green and red ones on the MGEX Strike Freedom?
Not a fan of Narrative Gundam. But this kit looks very nice! Looking forward to the customizations results.
Hey zakk do you any have any tips for diassembling this kit?
Is it possible to fit the luminous crystal psycho frame into narrative?
Now the question is would bandai dare make an Mg narrative A-packs…probably be p-bandai but that would be awesome
The problem Is that the A-Packs and B-Packs Will be 100% sure P-Bandai.
I would buy both them in a Blink of and Eye but i live outside that stupid P-Bandai program.
a MG A-Packs is going be massive, probably surpassing the MG Deep Striker.
Where is the 2022 Psychoframe runner from? Like from a new Unicorn variant? Are the new unicorn ver ka reprints also seeing the 2022 runner?
Must be some kind of minor modification to the original 2007 runner. My unicorn OVA version printed copyright 2010 has the A runner marked 2022 and B marked 2007 as well.
My guess is there are some damage to the mold and they fixed it in 2022. SInce the parts are made in 2007 and consider how much they milk that mold, it's possible the mold has some noticeable damage.
Are the psychoframes compatible with the mgex?
The narrative looks good. The core fighter is insane! The ab crunch is phenomenal
Fellow lore nerds out there, could anyone clear something up for me: Is the C-packs just spare parts for the RX-0 unit one or was the Unicorn really dismantled. Cause I remember this scene from NT where Mineva brings up what seems like a live feed of the Unicorn Gundam with seals all over its body. The Mobile Suit seemed pretty much intact.
IIRC only Banshee was destroyed, during the testing of Phenex. Unicorn was still intact with Mineva's faction of Neo Zeon. So C-Packs are literally spare psychoframes.
They just put Unicorn in storage and seal it with some duck tape 😂. It’s safe to assume they make new psycho parts
@@ivanj46 Cool beans! Thanks for clearing up that tidbit for me. I really appreciate it.
@@JericoLeslie Duct tape 😂 That's a good one. But yeah, that pretty much confirms my assumptions. I appreciate the reply ✌🤓
Actually, the banshee might not be really destroyed @ivanj46
👍👍👍👍
When is the estimated time these will start showing up in US stores?
I believe they are shipped out now so hopefully will be arriving in stores in the US this week!
@@ZakuAurelius awesome thanks for the info!
Do you think they will ever do the A pack
Possibly! But it will surely be P-Bandai like the HWS for the Nu/Hi-Nu
Should I matt spray all the white runners before assembling them? Or in which best step where we apply the coating?
Only do that if you don’t plan on applying any panel lining or decals. If so, then don’t matte coat til after doing said steps
If you panel line with liquid paneliner it's best to apply matt after panel lining. HOWEVER, if you use a marker, I find it easier to panel line after a matte coat (if it's glossy the ink won't stick as well). Only downside do this method is the cleanup is harder
so the red psycho frame is the final step, correct? best assembled after matte spray yea?
The shield would go for like 33 bucks in the jp market
Not sure what it's like in the West and honestly don't want to find out
I thought the gray psycho-frame are a clear part. It is not and it just a gray part like inner-frame!??
I've seen people say that it being gray is anime accurate since a deactivated psychoframe is just a hunk of metal. We only think a deactivated psychoframe is clear because of MGEX Unicorn.
Still, IMO it wouldn't hurt for it to be clear so that someone could build an MG Unicorn or Narrative with custom LED's.
Lore wise they are just metal I think. In the show they even said they had no idea how and why psycho frame can glow.
take the kit apart is pain in the ass after build it
I've become bored with the same old gundan design and don't bother with them anymore. There basically all the same. But I do like this one and I will get it, plus being ver.KA we get water slides (which is standard with every single model brand out there). Bandi has a business model and that's to make as much money from the customer as possible. With the cost of living way out of control prices of model kit are unrealistic and an absolute rip-off. The only kits where I felt I got my money's worth was Yolopark's Optimus prime and Shock wave. It's just disappointing my hobby is getting more expensive as well. When the PG Strike came out it cost me $123.95AUD now HG kits cost this much. Rip-off.
That's probably who it's best to wait until event builds like MGEX or a Ver Ka or a PG gets released if you like the gundam design or theme but don't love it. At least the building process of making a monster of a machine is worth it alone.
@@LoliconSamalik Yes, that's where I'm at with bandi now. Just Ver.KA's 👍
