    what about setting cards? if a turn player sets a card can he special summon a mekk knight for example before the opponent has a chance to cosmic the set?

    • @Yishan
      @Yishan  Před 2 lety +2

      Since it is a non game starting action you could chain a quick effect to the set, if they pass priority then the opp could activate a quick effect. If both players pass it goes back to an open game state so then you could special a mekk knight, but the answer is yes you could do something before turn player can summon a mekk knight

      The moment you set something that consider a action. Opponent can chain, yes.

    Priority ie how an evil twin player learns to get their draw 1 before getting nibiru’d

      Ki-sikil chain link 1 for turn player, Nibiru chain link 2 ?? You wouldn't get the draw ?

    How do monster quick effects work in conjunction with quick play spells?
    Taking scenario #4 with super poly.
    If player 1 normal summons stratos with no effect, is there a window where players can activate quick effects in response to the summon before quick play spells? Like a quick effect to pop the stratos before the super poly is activated.
    It sounds like no, player 1 will have priority to activate super poly before player 2 can activate a quick effect monster pop.

    At 4:09, let's say our opponent (Non-turn player) had a set Torrential Tribute.
    If the turn player chooses not to activate Strato's trigger effect and just normal summons Stratos, would the non-turn player be able to activate Torrential Tribute before the turn player activates Super Polymerization? Thanks for the clarification!

      Yes

    • @DylanHlava
      @DylanHlava Před 2 lety +2

      No they would not, it still falls under the same box as “player takes an action that does not start a chain” (the stratos normal summon) then you would still have priority to activate any fast effect before your opponent

    • @harlesmsbl
      @harlesmsbl Před rokem

      Additionally, if the opponent has torrential set instead of super poly: In this scenario, I THINK we would want to chain the Stratos’ effect so that torrential would miss timing? This is because TT states “when…” and not “if.”
      Anyone with more knowledge please let me know if this is correct

    Player 1 activates pot of extravagance. P2 says no response. P1 adds gamaciel and resolves the pot eff. p2 tries to use IP eff in response to gamaciel being added to hand. P1 claims turn player prio and attempts to tribute off the IP as cost for gamaciel. Which player is correct? 1 or 2?

    • @TheOneAndOnlyP6
      @TheOneAndOnlyP6 Před rokem

      You probably don't need the answer anymore but something he forgot to mention in the video is a Post-resolution window. It is true that after adding gamacil, he has priority for using quick effects (fast spells or monster effects) but tributing for a kaiju is an action performed during an open gamestate (like normal summoning)
      You can in fact use ip as chainlink 1 if your opponent does not want to or have anything to use during the Post-resolution window.
      After ips effect resolved there is another Post-resolution window. Only after both player confirmed an open game state, the turn player has the next play (which is probably kaijuing you)

    And over here I thought goat prio was gonna be explained

    • @IamGrimalkin
      @IamGrimalkin Před 2 lety

      Goat priority is the same rules, but you can activate ignition effects in the summon response window.
      Really goat 'priority' has nothing to do with priority, it's actually about when you can activate ignition effects.
      For quick effects, the rules are still the same; e.g. the turn player has priority to activate Zeus in the summon response window.
