- This is Round 1 of the Blast Ace Rumble, a tournament featuring 8 decks from the 14th main booster of the Digimon Card Game: Blast Ace. The first two decks to clash are Tyrannomon and Palmon. The primarily Green Tyrannomon deck has received new tools in the form of a powerful Lv.4 combo enabler and a Lv.6 that can both extend and end games, increasing the deck's overall speed, power and consistency without having to rely so much on generic Green support. On the other hand, the Green Palmon deck features new powerful support for the Rosemon deck that flourished in BT13, offering similar boosts to its strategy of keeping the opponent's field suspended. It's Green against Green in this opening match. Who will come out on top!?

I find this matchup very amusing cos I think BT14 Palmon is actually a great card to include in Tyranno's Lv.3 lineup. It can effectively reduce MetalTyranno / RustTyranno ACE's evolution costs by 3. BUT of course as I like to do in these tournaments, I had to go tribal, especially for mah boi Tyranno - wanted to see what they are capable of with the new support. Anyways, while I am very pleased by the deck's newfound brutality, it still faces its old issues of consistency due to a lack of tribal searchers and expensive (though powerful) Lv.5 lineup. On the other hand, Palmon / Rosemon benefits from a legacy of Plant / Fairy support AND the Yoshino power from BT13 - its speed and consistency is another REALM. So while this outcome was not too surprising, it was a shame that my special entry contender (and secret favourite to win - yes, even more than Nume & Suka) was taken out so early. Now I entrust my hopes... to POOP.
I think 2 color tyrannomon cards with the EX4 bottle end could work out.

It's funny how the tyrannomon deck was introduced like it was supposed to be a surprise entry in the tournament, but we all got spoiled with the title 😂

Oh RustTyranno. The only other green archetype that gets consistent support throughout sets besides Fairy/Vegi.
Insect went without support between BT9 and BT14 (I don't consider HercX or BT12 GranKuwaga as support as those are more new boss monsters rather than support for the deck as a whole) and the BT14 support is really underwhelming/not helpful for how insects are currently built but might be better once BT15 is out.
Beasts are starting to get up there but are just too new an archetype at this time but will likely/hopefully change after EX5.
Meanwhile Shiva, Ceres/Digisorption, Hybrid (though I guess the support for Rusty actually helps this one somewhat XD), Alliance and Digi-burst are still waiting for help :P
Unfortunately for RustTyranno though, unlike Fairy/Vegi, the support it tends to receive is usually just 1 or 2 cards, support that would have been great 1 or 2 sets earlier as it's just not able to keep up with the other decks and never really what the deck needs just slightly better versions of what it already had.
What Rust would need to be a contender deck:
1.) A Memory setter Taiga. Ideally with it having an on play effect to search out a Tyrannomon card and a your turn effect to let level 6 digimon with Tyrannomon in it's name attack your opponents unsuspended Digimon (as a call back to the OG Rusty). Likely would need to be something like "Main: You May suspend this tamer to give one of your level 6 or higher digimon with Tyrannomon in it's name the effect 'Your Turn: You may attack your opponent's unsuspended Digimon' for the turn"
2.) A Dedicated Green Rookie(s) that can actually search out Tyrannos AND Tamers (even if just Taiga). Think Terrier/Lopmon from EX4, RB1 Angoramon heck even BT4 Flamemon. Instead we just have BT11 Agu which can only grab 1 tamer and bottom decks the rest or Betamon which has no inheritable and can only grab either a tamer or specifically level 4 -_-
3.) Some form of Redirect either on a new level 6 or, ideally, an inheritable from a level 3 or 4 or Taiga effect so you can change the target of the attack to itself thus allowing you to use the All turn burn effects from MetalTyranno and Ace RustTyranno on your opponents turn as well as letting the BT11 Rusty unsuspend
4.) Some sort of removal protection though, green as a whole is in dire need of this. Indomitable in EX5 is a nice start though I'm not sure it'd be enough for Rusty specifically unless it's given as an inheritable from a level 3 or egg which is unlikely to happen any time soon.
This was super close. I adore both Tyrannomon and Rosemon so I has a blast watching them both go through each other's Security so fast.
I seriously cannot wait to see if Sukamon and Numemon can win against their opponents.
Disappointed that Diaboromon Ace won’t be getting his time to shine in this tournament.
Though going by what you said at the start of the video, I’m holding out for WarGreymon VS Diaboromon Ace for that separate video
Yes, but sadly, without proper base line support Diaboromon will get washed out. He hasn't had "Real" support since Bt05/Ex01. ACE is great but we need better Infermon/Kurisarimon and a second Arata, maybe a new Armageddemon as well. Also the X line. Eater support for Arata as well (I have a fun idea for Eaters)
This ending really was a great example of why players shouldn’t be greedy with memory. The Tyrannomon deck didn’t NEED to hard play the MetalTyranno, there could have been other plays. But, by playing the MetalTyranno, they gave the Rosemon deck enough memory to make a comeback and win.
As a fellow rusty fan, watching this build was an absolute treat, the way it tore though the security was fun to watch, definitely looking forward to upgrading rusty when bt14 drops in english

damn, I really wanted to see more rust tyrano fights. Why every deck I cherish for ends up loosing super fast? T_T
at least the rooster of decks look a lot more interesting this expansion, excited to see how the next matches gonna go

NGL, Palmon is one of the decks I was planning on building for this format (the other is Angemon), so it's nice to see what it can really do, especially with the BT13 Rosemon stuff.

On the one hand, I definitely wanted to see Tyrannomon show off being awesome. On the other, I feel like we didn't get to see all of what Palmon could do, so I'm glad she'll have at least one more opportunity.
Fun match, shame we never saw Lillymon ACE actually activate. But Rusty sure did, I hope Tyrannomon gets more tribal support in the near future, it's so close to being a competent deck. It just needs like a tribal rookie searcher or something.

You maybe tired of the Greymon support but let me say this, if you compare all the stuff in the new structure decks and bt14, Wargreymon got the short end of things (which is fine). His structure Deck actually helps Machinedramon and Craniamon more and let's be honest, the bt14 support only Agumon and Wargreymon are good. Yellow, Blue and Purple are the strongest colors in bt14.
Well yeah but the main concern is that the agumon line keeps getting support which is fine if it's a few sets between but it just feels consecutive. A lot of players I know are also getting tired of seeing Wargreymon at this point. At least have Bandai give some love to other Digimon and not just Digimon Adventure stuff. I'm okay with Wargreymon but don't make the support this frequent. The bt14 support could make a difference too

Eh, it will go away for a while. I myself play Gaiomon over other Greymon species decks. Plus in all fairness Wargreymon got the short end of the stick in the start of ACE Era, his structure Deck supports Machinedramon better and only really has 2 good cards in Bt14, that being Agumon and Wargreymon (which is fine.) Yellow, Blue, Purple are the stronger colors this set.
I just hope D-Brigade can finally get a tournament win.

While I’m sure this decklist for the Tyranno deck was extremely tight, and making your final picks was likely very difficult, I’m surprised you didn’t tech in even just 1 copy of EX3’s DarkTyrannomon or ExTyrannomon. The on delete inheritable and blocker might have been nice additions
They are horrible cards. Playing bad cards because they share the tyrannomon Name is bad.
I bet you never even seen bt8 Kogamon purple/green gives retaliation. Never EX3 Dark tyrannomon.
BlackRapidmon would have been better then Extyrannmon. Or EX2 Rapidmon

I’m not saying he should make the entire deck be darktyranno and ExTyrannomon, like, I literally suggested 1 copy of each. Rustmarrow likes the archetype, so I was suggesting that he tech in a bit more of that archetype.
Though in response to your accusation that I’m not aware of Retaliate Kogamon, no, I’m completely aware. Heck, it’s even a better card under ExTyrannomon. I didn’t suggest it because it or either Rapidmon because they aren’t tribal… which is what Rustmarrow wanted… tribal.
But maybe you were too busy whaling out decks with alt. arts to notice that. Ironic that in your own reckless Blitz that your didn’t see this Blocker has Retaliation too ;)

@@Dinowrestler I agree with you, I wish the deck was stronger too. I genuinely LOVE Tyrannomon in all forms (though I admit, I’m especially fond of the plush Ex one 😅).
It’s so sad how Tyrannomon has fallen in the lore. Tyrannomon used to be good, with Greymon treated more like the apex of the species… like only the best of the best Tyrannomons were able to instead become Greymon. Similar to how only the best Veedramon became ExVeemon instead, you know? And then it changed. Now it feels like Greymon is good, GeoGreymon is the apex, and Tyrannomon are the below par ones. Don’t get me wrong, I love GeoGreymon too, but I want Tyrannomons to get more love

I look at the Geo greymon line in cards, and being part yellow makes it fell very busted now.

This was a very close match between two decks of my favorite Digimon, really cool match, kinda sad Tyrannomon got defeated, maybe the Greymon showcase could be against Tyrannomon, a dino vs dino match, it would be really cool.

As cool as it may sound on paper, and I love tyrannomon.
To put the most heavy supported deck with a powerful new Secret boss card. All the best search cards,
De evol, raid, SA+1, Blockers, and cheaper evolution/memory gain. Lots of DP+
VS one of the most under supported decks with no searchers, and only 1 good lv5, (master isn't good) and only 2 playable lv6 (bt2 Rust is to small, to expensive, and it's effects aren't any good) attacking untapped, and tapping a 5k isn't good enough.

@rustmarrow well it's on evolve and on play so the 1 you evolve with stuns 1 and then the play stuns the other

Mm, I disagree on the basis that Tyranno is more iconic as a 'BT14 card'. Other than Rust ACE, it got legit support in the form of BT14 Tyranno. Diaboro needs more than the ACE, and I expect it to get that support not too far in the future - so saving it for then!

Personally, I just hate the level of support Omnimon, Greymon, and Garurumon get I get that they're fan favorites, but still it's a bit much.
Kicking greymon out was a great idea. It's not very interesting to see the most heavily supported deck come in and clean house. We can see that every day at locals.
I'm happy to see tyrannomon in the spot light, but it's bitter sweet, because losing in the first round hurts.
So close to a win.
I wish the Rust ACE was green/black, gives better options for level5 lines.
