    This is something my trainer has drilled me on with the TROT! I hadn’t tried it at the canter though! Standing in your stirrups is so so good for your balance and leg strength 💪

    WE DID IT! This excersize is truly a game changer ! 😁 Practiced my last two rides and had a few AHA moments. My horse loves it! My legs were so much better. This will be Incorporated into my daily riding until I am strong enough to do it well. I gotta tell you, I was very sore after the first day 😅

    Oh how I love this chick. When she screeches "stop gripping with your knees, put your legs on" (about 1.46 into the video) I can't help but chuckle. One because she sounds so Aussie (and love it) and also because it sounds familiar from my pony club days. And by using 2 point to help with getting the correct position for your knee and therefore not gripping is a lightbulb moment. Thank you. 😀👏🏻

    Yes! 2 point work is where it's at. So many times I have people asking me to help them learn to sit the canter better and I immediately have them up in 2 point working g on their leg strength a few have gotten irritated with me saying they were not here to learn a jumping position but quite the opposite. I have to tell them they MUST work on their leg and core strength to be able to sit better. Doesn't matter if your riding in and english saddle, western saddle, endurance saddle or bareback! If you don't work on yourself your horse pays the price unfortunately.
    Thanks for the video!

      @Jennoriafly Před 2 lety +2

      What exercises would you suggest to strengthen legs and core muscles to prepare for when I do finally get to start taking lessons again? My horses are too young right now to ride, but I want to be as ready as I possibly can be once I can start riding again!
      I used to only ever trail ride, but I want to start training for more than just bomb proofing and trail riding so I know I'm going to need to better myself first! Any help and tips are appreciated! :D

    I have been doing this without knowing how fantastic it is! My little quarter horse has an enormous canter so the only way I could ride it was in a two point position. Eventually, I started sitting and going back to two-point. I was doing the right thing and didn’t even know it! 🥳 I do not bounce in the canter because of it.

    Hii! I am a young rider. I have been trying my hardest, giving out all my strength on the horse to not bounce. The horse i am riding is a nervous one and speeds up with just a mere mistake of mine. He is uncomfortable to the sensations of the reins. As i have been trying my hardest, thinking about him more than myself, i always leaned forward on the horse to not bounce harshly on his back. This video has enabled me to look at all of my riding experiences from a different point. Thank you for that. I am now looking forward to learn and get inspired from you. Love you so much! Have a great day.
