Congratulations Troy! No one deserved it more than you. I just watched the movie yesterday and his performance was just incredible in every way, it really moved me. He also seems like such a lovely person! I hope to see more deaf actors and just more diversity in general in future movies, he's gonna be such a big inspiration for so many people to become actors. I'm not deaf but this movie really opened my eyes.

I’m so happy for him, I hope he gets amazing offers and get to play a super hero, I loved CODA he was so funny my favorite scene was when he was describing why he liked gangster music and did the vibrations of his butt cheeks with his hands I just laugh so hard. It was a slice of life and I’m so happy they got best picture, I was watching live and rooting for CODA in the 3 categories they got nominated. Just a beautiful movie.

So deserving of a win! It made me really glad to see him get the recognition he deserves and his Oscar speech had me crying.
I’m really excited that he’s getting offers and scripts! It’s about time we see representation of others in the deaf community, especially through a perspective that has been silent for too long.

What a beautiful, well deserving win for Troy and the deaf community. Aside from what everyone else may be saying about the night, I believe his win and the win for CODA taking best picture were the most memorable for me.
We all love you Troy. Thank you for having the courage and dedication to achieve what many doubters called impossible.

I don't know the sign language of any country, but it was a pleasure watching Troy Kotsur sign language. His sign language is clear and powerful, and with his rich expressions, I can feel the expression of his sincere feelings.
This is the first time I've seen and felt the beauty of sign language, from Troy Kotsur, the Best Supporting Actor at the 2022 Oscars. Congrations ! Well deserved.

So happy to see Troy win his Oscar! His performance was absolutely incredible - as was the movie. My best friend growing up was a CODA, and I loved watching her sign with her family. Because of that exposure at such an early age, I fell in love with the beauty of this visual language and Deaf culture and ended up taking seven years of ASL through high school and college. Love seeing the Deaf, HoH, and CODA communities represented in this way.

I found a way to watch CODA in the theatre since we cannot afford for Apple TV subscription. I have to drive 27 miles to the closest movie theatre that they're showing, down to Venice, FL from Sarasota but it's really worth it. This is my best feel good movie ever! I took up Music in college and I remember I taught a choir for competition using a sign language with the song. I started learning the alphabets for sign language when I was young and for me the best way to learn any language like ASL is through song. I was really really touched during the audition scene coz it is so authentic. I knew in my mind that the reaction of Ruby's family watching her doing the sign language was a surprise for the actors coz they didn't tell them about that scene. Congratulations to the cast esp. to Troy for winning most of the awards for Best Support Actor for this movie. I have to have a copy of the movie CODA and watch it again and again.

Troy winning was the highlight of the Oscars for me. Even though I’ve never seen CODA, I want to now. At my school, I’m actually doing a project (it takes 2 years, it’s a Capstone project on why people should learn ASL) and taking an ASL class at my school (I have a deaf uncle and ASL needs more positive) exposure. That’s why I was so happy when I saw a deaf actor won an Oscar! 🙌🏽 (That’s supposed to be the clapping sign in ASL, I looked it up and that emoji apparently expresses joy so I don’t regret using it, Apple and other companies should really make more ASL emojis!)

It was so wonderful to see Troy win Best Actor. Truly deserved.
I’m hard of hearing and use sign. However, since I can speak and use hearing aids, my wife and children don’t know sign - it just wasn’t as necessary for them unless I was deaf.
I don’t get to use sign too often but when I do, it seems so natural.
Watching CODA or Sound of Metal made me feel pretty proud of the deaf community. Another film from, if I remember correctly, 1968, is The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. Sad but well done starring Alan Atkin.

I was lucky enough to attend the Governor's Ball this past Sunday and after the travesty of the slap seen and heard around the world, I was a bit overwhelmed by how much the entire experience of the Ball has changed since I was a part of this catering company just a few years ago. The food and service (all the staff had to wear masks poor things) were better than it has been in years: I drank some amazing rose champagne, my food favorites included the spicy tuna cones, waffles with fried chicken, lobster pie, beef sliders, cornbread with crab and caviar, and the mac and cheese which has been thankfully updated. I didn't get a chance to try any of the Turkish selections. I tried one dessert which was a choc sea salt eclair topped with a gold and chocolate oscar. Upon my exit, I, of course, took home one of the famous choc Oscars. Many celebrities left even quicker than in past years, perhaps due to the Will Smith incident (that's almost all anyone talked about). I enjoyed watching Kodi Smit-Mcphee proudly carrying a beautiful rose. Most importantly I was able to confirm from a few of the WPC butlers that almost all the mountains of left-over food were in fact donated to organizations whose mission is to feed multitudes of hungry individuals so ubiquitous in Los Angeles. This is a welcomed change from decades of having to watch the majority of this unspoiled food simply fed to the dumpsters. Nice job!
