You are wrong you Brian!!!!! I actually remember the solution because I still do it for free beers.
well done!
Scam School XD when the reply gets more likes then the comment
It's than* not then, and @tankmon123 it's you're* not your
on point my dude xD
I saw you on a JSE vid and Ryan Hyga vid and this vid
I'm a waiter and learned this from a friend about a week ago. I showed this to a table, swapped riddles and puzzles and ended up with $30 tip because they had such a good time.
wow
you actually managed to scam me into watching a 1:30 minutes commercial
not cool
TheBarak5000 it replaces ads
You would know they were here if u ever watched this channel before. You can even skip it
I get ads too.
The ads are getting smarter.
OMG I DIDNT REALIZE
Didn't forget the answer because I never learned the answer. I have a ring which gives me the answers.
Is it me or does Brian get funnier as the years go by?
thanks, man. I'd like to think that after 10 years I'm kinda getting good at a thing :-)
over, half under (that is backwards). done in 2 moves. is it legal? or am i missing some rule. You are awesome though. i have liked your content since i was in college.
I think the way you're talking about would involve moving two of the same coin at once.
OMGLYKEWOW ahh! so thats not allowed. ok.
*as the beers go by*
Why does it say this video is 2:30, but when I watch it, its 11:30?
wow
toof toof Is it that way for you?
Cameron Jackson yes weird..
same....
+Cameron Jackson yeah
If they're all on a string they can't be swapped, or even moved relative to each other.
Yeah he explained it poorly.
It's good to be back, Scam School. Now, buy me a beer!
on it, boss.
Ok but the way they did their ad for domain.com in there was genius. I've never been so invested in two minutes of advertisement in my life. Props.
Brian: "All you need is 3 pennies"
Canadians: "Well, I'm out"
I only got out coins to play along with after the answer for the first one, but I legitimately found out the 4 move solution first try after that!
...
now to recreate it...
Nope, nevermind, recreated it the first try as well. Maybe I should count this one to luck, but hey, it counts for something!
*EDIT: Oho, no, I made up a full new solution myself apparently! Here it is:*
i) 2&3 over, connect to end
ii) 3&4, middle two of the four, back connect to 1. It's now PPDD(space)P.
iii) 3&4, the two dimes, over, connect to 5. Now PP (much space) PDD
iv) 1&2, the two disconnected pennies, just slide over to the other one to make PPPDD!
11 cent puzzle. You just moved 20 cents in step 3.
good point, mindscapejem
This is the first puzzle I actually tried myself because I thought it actually looked easy. I tried it right after the guys made the first move and I paused it, and worked out what looked to be the next 2 steps, so I decided to test it. I ended up solving the 4 step solution first try but then kept watching because I thought I must have made a mistake and solved it wrong. Nope, my solution was identical to what Brian did at the end. Normally I hate puzzles but I guess my brain was just wired right for this one.
mindscapejem Yeah, I didn't catch that. I knew something felt dodgy about the last couple moves, but I guess I was too tired to remember the whole "11 cents" bit.
the moves according to your codes are(here reverse means from opposite direction):- reverse half over, reverse swap and reverse obvious
This video brings me back. I remember always watching this show including that coin video 8 years ago. Wild that this channel is still doing well
This channel has improved so much, now even the adds are funny.
He followed me on Twitter and i have no idea why.
it's because we were meant to be together.
Scam School Must be true.
Phrase of the day: *I will bet you a dollar*
so my grandfather just set this up for me to do this, not knowing I knew it, but he forgot the solution and I did it flawlessly. THANK YOU SCAM SCHOOL!
Scam school is absolutely amazing. The way they find ways to make their sponsor clips so long and their advertisers pay them more for extended advertisement. They know how to scam the system
oh, man... your comment just got me to re-watch the whole ad. that was a fun one.
Last time i came this early my girlfriend left me
Press F to pay respects
not sure what the signifigance of "F" is but ........F
Zoeth Silvan F
The real scam is the ad they put in the middle of the video, the merch they sell to remember this nonsense, and the fact that they're getting you to watch an 11 minute video that could be shortened to only 2 minutes or less. Spooky
Welcome to Scam School.
Griffin Jenkins Oh no this CZcamsr wants to make money and I'm incapable of sliding the scrubber to the two minutes I want to see. Boohoohoo
That's where skipping through the video comes in handy. Not only do you see the desired content, but they don't get a full view, incentivizing them to make less fluffy videos.
Vedvart And as an added bonus they're less entertaining and we have less content!
I actually figured out the four move solution myself what I did was I got to the swap position state then tried to bring it back to the original(unsolved) state and found how to do it :) Great video by the way
Other people: *frantically tries to remember solution*
Me, an intellectual: *Looks at rogue's ring, realize I forgot the glyphs, then frantically try to remember the solution*
you could do it in 2 moves
puppys for life Nope coz then there will be blank space between the coins
0o0o0
_ _ 0o00 _ _ o
_ _ _ _000oo
BLOOGaming lol, that's what I did
BLOOGaming That's exactly what I did.
OoOoO
OoOO_ _o
OOOoo
You can do it in actually 2 moves!
*PD* PDP- move to front
PDP (PD)
*PD*PPD move just behind right most dime
PP (PD) D
WIN!
I had this puzzle and the 4 move solution memorized for years. I never really knew the 5 move solution but the 4 move one is more impressive. I still remember over, double over, swap and obvious.
This and 4 1/2 cents are two of my favorites.
Not first!!!!
You can do it in 3 moves
- OoOoO
1. move the first to coins to the end of the row
- OoOOo
2. do the same with the new coins
- OOoOo
3. move the 2nd and the 3rd coin, between the 4th and the 5th coin
And there you go
Nice move, but you can do it without creating a gap, here is how:
To make it simpler I gave each coin a number (odd number = big coins, even number = small coins)
This is the setup:
12345
First step:
1_ _4523
Second step:
1524_ _3
Third step:
_ _24153
@@henryh3643 but then.. your solution goes against the rule that everytime you move.. you have at least 11 cents. ony the last move.. you moved two same-valued coins.
@@kazuohirose Okay, I forgot that...
Well then I guess the solution with the fewest moves is the 4 step solutions they showed
Love the moves, hope I remember them good.
oh man, i love brian's ads. I actually want to watch them lol
Not sure if sombody already said this, but you can do it in 2 moves.
0 = pennie
1 = dime
0-1-0-1-0 initial position
1-0-0-1-0 first move the 2 furthest right coins go to the left.
1-1-0-0-0 second move the 2 furthest right coins move in between the pair of pennies and the furthest left dime.
you cant split the two coins you are moving....
@@chrissergamer
Why?
They never stated that and you get a free beer by splitting them?
Well, because he will say this
2:46
I didnt have to
@@chrissergamer
Don't ask "if you are allowed to do it"
If he didn't forbid it it's his fault
he would still say when you do it, that he didnt have to
dead channel
If by "dead" you mean "at an all-time high for subscribers and viewership," then yes.
+Scam School 😂
he means dead as in you're too popular for scams.... everyone knows them now. You're dead. I relied on you being subtlety known so eventually you're own popularity will be you're doom.
i love the rick and morty reference
"and thats the waaaayy the news goes " XD
This has gotten me a 2 free beers since I first seen this like 12 years ago. I’ve learned most of your coin puzzles they are super practical. But I just use em as conversation starters. Also I remember it as over, over, half over, swap, return. I’m pretty sure I changed the terminology but not entirely sure 😂
jokes on you I watched the old video 2yrs ago! and I remember the solution!
Within the rules, a very simple 2 move solution. First move, take the leftmost 2, move them across and do the split. Leave room for 2 coins - the 2 leftmost move into the gap as per the obvious.
The split is valid because you're still touching 11 cents throughout it.
This could be a TV show. Really good 😊
I've been doing this puzzle for over twenty years. It's a great way to occupy kids
my god the amount of beer i have made out of this over the past 8 years... i am sure i owe scam school like £100's
Sanky and brushwood have given me the ability to go out with no money and get so soooooo drunk lol THANX GUYS
Damn Ill get so much beers with this
When you showed the result I mentally assigned a number to each coin based on its current position and then remembered which pairs were moved, ie 1+2 then 1+2 then 2+3 then 3+4 then 1+2 which made it much easier to remember.
Cool. That was the first _funny and watchable_ ad plug I've seen ;p.
I can't wait to get as good as Brian at these tricks to have as much fun performing them. so far im still nervous and hesitant lol
LOL I paused the video and figured out the four-step solution, thinking that was the one he showed!!!
I did it with 4, before he showed it. Then again, I did watch one that was 8 years ago.
"Without those Numonics it's almost impossible to rework.." Not when you have a good memory 😅😂
when you subbed/found scam school but it was a year ago RIP
I remembered the 5 move one! Tried to do the 4 one with my own coins and couldn't remember though.. Long time fan, keep it up :D
THERE IS A 3 MOVE SOLUTION! My brother figured it out - the first two moves are like the 4 move solution 1)Big over (but only leave one coin space instead of 2 coin space, 2)just like the second move "over" with the penny and dime. This leaves you with "Penny, (Single space), penny, dime, penny, dime. The third move is take the outside penny and the middle dime (which are separated by 2 spaces) and move them so that the penny fits inside (to where the dime you picked up WAS) and the dime goes outside. This maintains all correct spacing so it is a valid move, and solves in 3!!! I hope you mention this in a future episode!!!
The best trick in this is the misdirection of using the "I can't juggle" to plug that site 50 times opposed to once
we just found a solution in three moves.
one beer will buy you the answer
I'M GONNA SAY SOMETHING REALLY CRAZY AND SAY THAT PEOPLE THAT MIGHT HAVE SEEN THIS 8 YEARS AGO MIGHT HAVE FORGOTTEN IT BY NOW
revolutionary
Lol, I remembered the moves you made without a problem at 1st attempt, dont try that shit on me boy hahaha
Ayy! I remember this one! I went and tried it at the point Brian was like, "even people who watched that episode 8 years ago will probably forget the answer," but it looks like I still got it~
Edit: Grammar
There are actually 2 four move solutions because I found one that was slightly different on my own before Brian gave his. In stead of big over, big over, swap, obvious, you go HUGE over, big over, swap obvious. Basically you move the first 2 over so theres room for 4 coins between them and the original pile, then move the next 2 over so they are just inside of them, and then swap-obvious.
Very minor difference but still a different solution
My uncle showed me this once when I was younger.
A proud 10-year old cried that day....
playing with the coins on my desk, realizing it's really hard to figure out going from the starting solution to the end, just before the video gets to the answer I'm like "what if I start at the end and work backwards" and from there it's trivial, there's really only one obvious move going from the ending position back to the start. very clever puzzle
loved this brain teaser. i took an outside the box method to figure out the 4 move. i did it all backwards. it helped a lot because i knew the last move (which wad the first going backwards.) and did some reverse engineering. fun little tricks. thanks again
this worked really well
AND THAT'S HOW THE COOKIE CRUMBLES
loved it! I caught the first solution but think it was the overhead camera... when you did the second solution... all I could think was "oh... you... ahole" lol good video bro
you should do an episode on juggling- that'd be awesome since you can add it into random tricks
this was awesome!
My favorite magic trick was the smoke breather, where you light the match, breath the fumes, leave it sit, and blow it out.
Great video! I might try this one..
I can juggle scarves!
You did pretty well with the balls!
I did it after seeing it once. Like when Brian said let me show you once I could do it
You can add coins also. By adding another dime and penny the moves goes up from 5 to 14. I've kept adding 11 cents until I reached over 100 moves. I soon stopped adding coins after that because I found myself falling asleep and missing out on really important engagements.
I love trying these out on my own first, and I'm glad I did with this one. Got the 4 move solution first try, replicated it, tried a different solution (got it, but I forget if it was five or six moves), and then re-replicated the 4 move solution. Honestly though, having watched the other scam, how to rearrange coins in a diamond pattern into a straight line, probably helped. What I didn't notice though was that you had bandages on your hand, until I read a comment asking about it. Glad you're (ultimately) okay, and be careful! :)
I learned this one years ago. Won quite a few drinks with it...
When he asks if they have to be in contact you explicitly say that you do it that way when you go out of your way to explain that you leave a buffer.
I remembered both solutions. As a matter of fact, I have been using this trick to scam drinks ever since I saw the first video.
Thanks! I am so going to troll my friends with this :3
I once heard Penn Jillette say there are two types of people: magicians and jugglers.
It’s weird watching this, knowing in the future that Brian will be taught how to juggle on the Modern Rogue
I also did it with your trick just when you showed how to and my mom too but I figured out a three move solution
You have to break the rules to do it in less than 4 moves...
My dad showed me a trick with a similar idea when i was a child, so I was able to figure it out as soon as he showed the solution the first time.
Love giving people the answer without them solving this. This is cool
This should be named 'beer school' 😂
"I bet you a dollar" fuck i'm motivated
I'v known this game for years before iv seen this video, However i did always do it with 3 moves with the same rules as you, but now i have 2 other ways too do it to help get more beer :)
Thanks to this trick I've been drunk for two weeks straight!!
Now that's a way to make an ad people will watch.
I remember the 5, but don't even remember 4 being done
I either forgot about one rule or found a 2 move solution:
-ababa (starting position)
-abaab (move the two first to the end)
-aaabb (move the two first between the two last)
I found the same one and then found this comment!!
you cant split the two coins you are moving....
I remember this and the ones with quarters
Got it after the second time. I just memorised where his hands were.
that laugh though
I watched it once, waited about 30 seconds and could still remember it. I don't get why others find this hard.
Reverse engineered it in about 20 mins
Man it took more than it should after having seen it once
just tried this on my sister, after I she gave up she claimed she "never agreed" to by me a drink despite me saying it at the start and her playing lmao
What you shoulda said in the ad "they have 99.9% uptime unlike my juggling"
8 years later and I still remember the 4step solution 😬
This is the first time I've actually lmao'd during a domain.com add
Added a 2 minute "commercial" in the middle, which was just enough to push the total video time over 10 minutes. This got him paid twice for the same content: from CZcams and from that sponsor. Now THAT'S the real scam.
This is why I watch Scam School ads. They are interesting.
There's a 3 move version as well. It goes left over to rights end. Left over to rights end. Twist bam 3 moves
My 2 cents (pun) do not use 3 pennies and 2 dimes. Play big or go home. Subconsciously people respond to and treat penny tricks as if they are worth a penny. I have several penny tricks where I upped the ante using a silver dollar, Kennedy Half, Susan B Anthony or other attention getter that subtly conveys that we are serious and talking high stakes. Get extras so the coin can be the reward for those who solve the puzzles. NOTE. In 5 step Half over is is 1 in from left as Mr. Brian aid like reading. In other words the 3 coin starts it & the coin that there is only 2 of is the 2nd coin. Also Directions of 1 of each coin for every move can not be stressed enough.
