The children are constantly sick with runny noses from living in filth. Such a simple solution to just be clean with soap and water. breaks my heart for those little ones!
Mom and the children watch utube videos on their smartphones. They know the convenience’s of moving forward. Mom, the boy, Burma and Ursula will follow stay in the family business. Bissome will grow and move forward with her life.

It’s not just this family, it is more than likely the whole village in that remote part of the mountains. Despite caste systems being now unlawful in Nepal, the behavior, belief systems, customs, etc. are still intact and harder to break including the choice for some to live in isolation away from more modern ways of living. Plus Nepal is landlocked, old ways of farming and tending the land without a lot of import/export of goods keeps them even close to old traditions and customs.

My husband and I have done well, but my daughters make 4 times my and my husband’s salary combined. If America gets its into trouble again. Children live what they learn. It would be impossible for bissome not to follow that behavior. I’d love to see her rise above the violence and abuse but it would be too much to ask of a child who’s been the family’s punching bag ever since I’ve been watching. We ALL know who they learned this behavior from, mom was constantly using violence as a way to discipline CONSTANTLY. The unfortunate thing is 99% of the violence was directed at bissome. No matter how much people would love us to forget it, we never will. Not ever. It would be unfair to not expect her to dish it out. However, it is tragic to see mom allow any violence in the home, mom has missed the boat….she has the mind of a middle school child. This is the same day that Ursula was violently pounding on bissome! Mom was watching as she walked out of the front door. She knew bissome would fight back, she intentionally let her so she could punish her. The scene cut out but bissome was upset afterwards. She got a beating from the kid, then for sticking up for herself she got a punishment.
I was bullied by my older sister. I did nothing to provoke her except for breathe. My parents were strict disciplinarians, not abusive but they would put the belt to all my siblings when we really got out of line. But I couldn't understand why they didn't intervene when I would tell them how my sister would beat up on me. She was clever not to hit me in their presence. They would always tell ME to stop tattling. One day after she slapped me , I slapped her back - and that ended years of bullying! We became best of friends 👭🏽❤

Look at the variety of plants in that section! Mother is gathering browse for cows. She does this daily. There are no fields for the cows to graze.
