That's why i went with the 3'' because I was told the 3" is best fit for headers and intake or boost for better air flow ! I want to install a catted headers system too ! Keep looking , you will find something that works well !

I got the Borla Atak for my 2017 GT and wow. Love the sound and it really wakes the care up. From the factory it sounds good but this thing really screams at you. It's a loud but it also has a great tone to it as well, something I think the Corsa lacks.

@@RomanChaar When you open it up it tends to get raspy even revving on the lower rpm’s sometimes but over all it’s like a deep rasp it sounds really good

After 20 years of driving crappy used cars, I finally ordered my dream car! It's a 2016 Mustang GT, Performance Pack with Guard paint, black stripes, saddle leather interior, 6spd and all the fixings.
I want to get a cat-back exhaust, but I'm having a difficult time deciding between:
- FRPP Sport (loud)
- FRPP Touring
- Roush axle back + X-pipe
I love the look / sound of the FRPP sport but I've been told it's very loud, bordering on obnoxious. I'm used to loud V-twin bikes so I want the mean growl.
The Roush is deeper and sounds sweet too.
I'm afraid if I go for the Touring I might want something louder in a couple of months.
BTW: I've watched every CZcams video on S550 exhaust I can find about 20 times, but it's difficult to decide.

+Ari Cohen I had the touring and switched initially to the Borla S type which I absolutely loved! I have since switched to the quad tip Ford Sport which sounds really good but I still like the S Type just a little better. The Roush with an X pipe delete will be LOUD, much louder than the others you are interested in.

That's really interesting. I had thought the FRPP Touring / Borla S-type were the same systems, and that the FRPP Sport / Borla Atak were the same. But I just now watched your S-type video and I understand.
So in your opinion the S-type sounds loud enough, but not too loud where neighbors will hate me?
I realize that it's all subjective. I think you and I probably have very similar tastes in exhaust sounds. I want deep, mean, growl with some crackle. But I don't want screaming, raspy, eardrum-popping racer exhaust. This will be my daily driver. As long as you don't think I'll think the S-type is too quiet, I'll order it from your store.

+Ari Cohen The sport and the S type are very similar sounding. The Touring is much quieter the ATAK is much louder. To me the S type had the perfect tone. Decent tone for normal driving, aggressive when on it, zero drone on the highway

I went with Borla S-Type axel back married with an X pipe and MAK Cat deletes...
April 27 2021 Update: Installing the MAK CAT deletes was a HUGE mistake and don't know how anyone can survive running that setup! I was going home, got stuck in traffic for 30+ minutes and still recovering from the exhaust fumes! Will be going back to my Borla S-Type with X pipe setup tomorrow.
Imagine how that sounds and just know that the audio is being captured through a GoPro mic and if you dont understand, GoPro mics are absolute ass

I went back to the Borla S type on my car. I liked the ATAK but it was a little too loud for my taste and I have some Kooks longtubes with no cats waiting in the wings which would only make it louder.
Can we hear this with the MRT H-Pipe please? That might be perfect IMO anyway! Thanks!

Can anyone attest to having this exhaust and switching on wet snow mode of it gets quiet lol.
Wet and snow mode kills throttle response so they would make sense.
Would you recommend Anti Seize Lubricnat? Corsa seems to highly recommend it in their install manuals, but I've yet to even see a mention of it in any install videos.
Bill just wondering why you say build quality is better then Flowmaster. I thought Flowmaster was too build quality and backs their product for life? The Flowmaster outlaws actually seem a little louder than the borla. Also do you have any idea what the weight of the stock, borla and Flowmaster is?

Alright Bill, since you are the exhaust master I need your opinion. I have a 2014 GT with offroad H, deleted resonators, and GT500 axle backs. The volume is about right but it has a raspy tinny tone. What axle backs would be good for a deep smooth sound with minimal drone on my set up?
Honestly I don't think you will find anything less raspy and deeper and smoother than what you have with an offroad pipe and no resonators. I love the sound of the Borla S type with an off road X, I ran that for awhile on my 2011 GT. It has no drone but was pretty loud at WOT
Dammit! I was looking at the Magnaflow street axle back but I guess Ill have to throw some quality resonators back in. Thanks for the input man

Hey Bill, been binge watching your videos. Plan on buying a 2015-16 GT Prem vert in June. I havent seen any LT headers videos. I think the S-type Borla is for me (had Borla on my 04 GTO). Do you think LT headers and S-type would be as loud as the ATAK (so should I go with touring instead)? I've already made a list of parts to order....Vinyl blackout kit, 4th brake light kit, CAI and seq taillights.
The headers with cats don't add too much volume so I would say it will still be quieter than the atak. we do have a longtube video with the ARH headers for the 15.

Bailey Parker It is Dewalts compact 14.4V 1/2 impact gun. Not a lot of torque so its pretty safe to use for most things.

I am still confused. I've recently read that removing the factory resonator can trigger check engine light and that it interferes with how the engine pulses gases through the exhaust. I want my car to sound aggressive...but not at the expense of performance headaches. Can you clarify this issue for me? Does removing the resonator cause engine stalls, exhaust scavenging issues, and error codes to the Mustang?
No I doesn't removing the cats will cause a check engine light if not tuned, but not a resonator delete.

Hey Bill, just wondering i you could tell me the differences between this system and the Flowmaster Outlaw Catback? I watched sound clips of both and they sound very similar, but the Flowmaster looks like it's lighter and it'd also 200 less. Can you comment on the sound, build quality and weight o these two systems so I can make uo my mind of which one to buy?
Evan Salas Build quality is superior on the Borla for sure. No drone at all for the Borlas while the Outlaws are kind of known for it. I have never heard the Outlaw in person on the 15 but I was not a fan on the 11-14

Looking at one of these systems for my 2016 GT just wondering if fitting the 3" borla ATAK cat back system to a stock engine cause any dramas? It says on the websight only recommended for vehicles with substantial engine upgrades but was just curious how it would cope on a stock engine

Hi Bill, between this exhaust and the MBRP Aluminized 3" Street Series exhaust which one has the Deeper Nicer note ? to me from the videos the MBRP is deeper and has a nicer note to it where as this Borla ATAK is just purely Loud, but the sound through video could lie, whats your thoughts ?
The sounds on the video are pretty accurate. The MBRP street is quieter than the ATAK for sure, so is the race for that matter.

Most definitely. I have one on my 2016 mustang gt and I've gotten complains from neighbors due to me having to leave for work at 6am and because of how loud it is. Just like he said I tested it out and my friends could still hear me from a mile away so I understand how my neighbors feel when I turn it on in the mornings. Especially during a cold start

The Outlaws drone terribly so we do not offer them. The ATAK is unique to Borla, the systems Borla provides for Ford Racing are also specific.
Bill Tumas I can attest to that. I had the outlaws on my 14 Mustang GT and while they were very loud and sounded awesome at WOT, the drone was miserable on the highway for any length of time.
I noticed it said you will need an 8mm Allen key. it was never used in the video. does anyone know what that was for?

Mauro's-Red-Mustang#13 - Both are very loud but have different tones. I would lean towards the Roush and off road H or X four pure volume.

We offer Borla options for the EB but this is for GT only. The V8 and EB will sound completely different.

+Gale Hollis Corsa for sure, kind of hard to tell how it sounds through recording, its a very crisp raspy exhaust yet deep at idle.... I was so stuck between the frpp and corsa and thought Id get the frpp for sure. Working for ford, I had two similar 5.0's come in, one with the corsa extreme, the other with the full frpp cat back and I can hands down say the corsa sounds the best. The Frpp does sound good at low rpms but is a little bit quieter and gets a little sloppy sounding at higher rpms..
Hey bill I have a 2015 V6 and I know there is a BORLA atak catback for it. However, that one doesn't come with an X-Pipe, by any chance would the gt atak catback fit a V6? I would love an x pipe in my V6

I just got a 2016 gt with phase 2 roush supercharger. Should I go 2.5 or 3 inch, I want sound as well as performance.
2.5 is good to about 700 hp, above that I would go with the 3 inch
The roush phase 2 sc kit makes 727 hp so I guess I should go with the 3 inch then, correct?
