This is my second playthrough of Elden Ring - my first playthrough is linked below. My plan is to do this playthrough using no summons (TBD on using gold summons) and to fight bosses up until Maliketh, but we'll see. Do you think some of the bosses will have new lines of dialogue if you wait to beat them until after beating the DLC?

I feel that there may be something with Malenia. The developers already mentioned that there wouldn’t be any new endings but they could definitely sneak in a line or two of dialogue. 👀
I'm waiting to kill Mohg after I download the DLC, and I'll leave Malenia and the last bosses for after I beat the DLC, just in case.
I really doubt anything in the DLC will directly interact with the base game. That's not how they usually do things. Maybe the other way around there will be things in the DLC that reacts subtly different depending on what you've done.
The flask replenishment has always been there when you kill of a group

Absolutely every time i replay elden ring, my heart fills with nostalgia as I open the door out to Limgrave and the first step. I will forever love this game. Can’t wait to watch you play through this again as I watched your entire previous playthrough! And I will definitly play the DLC on release and watch your videos after😄 Can’t wait for our next ER adventure :)

It is extremely interesting to replay it, after knowing the lore of the game, bosses and NPCs. You view everything from a whole new perspective.

@itsjavachip I enjoyed your first playthrough of this and will likely tune in for this one. I think people forget that this game has ridiculous replay value so even if it's the same game there are so many ways to play it differently and basically make it a new game. Have fun, foul tarnished!
Well Java, you can grab the Claymore Greatsword inside Castle Morne, imo it's a good option for Cofessor as it's what I'm using atm on my Confessor.
Confessors are all about strength and faith, if you very sneaky you can get to Redmane Castle for Flaming Strike and the Red Hot Whetblade then you can have the Burning fire sword whenever you wish, also catch flame and flame sling are decent offensive spells, while Bestial Vitality from beast clergyman 3rd deathroot(?) gives you a very FP effecient heal over time while exploring and only requires 12 Faith while it heals 5hp/sec for 2 mins or 600hp for no flask use as a simple 18fp, something to consider.

Since you're open to backseating, it's a big game, you can take some time to learn all the combat options. Guard counters with medium and large shields are useful, especially vs. dogs and imps - and everyone else, really. One handed and two handed heavy jump attacks are useful. Both guard counter and jump attacks are good for guard break, then riposte. Play with the ashes of war, too, the weapon skills. Find one you like with the speed and balance power you like.
Spells, play naturally. When you find a new one, pick it up and give it a try. Either you'll like it or not. If you like incantations, remember to level Mind. It's easy to forget.
If you like high Dexterity, try lightning. It'll pay off inthe long run.

1,500. If we're doing number of deaths, I'm saying 1,500. You'll have fewer deaths in the base game but you're playing without summons, which will add, and the DLC is all new, which will also add.
Well now i have something to binge watch until the dlc comes out!

873 deaths. im doing the same thing playing again for the DLC
Doing a Faith build could be VERY interesting, but I feel like a lot of the best Faith incants are mid-to-end-game, unless you go out of your way to go get them (...which you could, to be fair, it's a open-world game afterall). In my opinion, very different to let's say Int/Sorceries where I actually think you can get a lot of the good spells very early on by picking up scrolls or just exploring Caelid (which can sorta be early-game in the sense that it's right next to Limgrave and you can get teleported there from Limgrave as well).
However, I still think you should pursue the Faith/Incant build, just to spring some sparkles and make this playthrough quite different to the previous one. But my advice would be to, whenever you can, maybe go out of your way to pick up some Incants you would ""naturally"" get later on if you followed a more streamlined playthrough of the events.
