Cut page does it for me. Most of my editing is for small, short projects. I love 15, but sometimes a lot of the great tools get in the way. With 16’s cut page it looks like the tools I use the most are easily accessed. And having all of the easily available when I need them is a major bonus. Great video, BTW. Subscribed.

I think the best update is the switch over to utilising the gpu. My fusion composite in resolve 16 is blowing me away on my Radeon VII. Real-time playback with lots of particles and layers in 3D space with no slow downs. All I can say is wow. If you have a monster video card you are going to love this version

My favourite new features are the new scope features and the ability to keyframe OFX plugins in the edit page.
    I would like to see:
    1. Font preview in the font list
    2. Spine editor and keyframe editor from Fusion in the colour and edit page
    3. Color grades from colour page following through to Fusion as an option
    4. Ability to arrange panels and layout

I’m pretty slick on the Edit page, but when I saw the Cut page I immediately knew it was gonna speed up my workflow for basic edits and quick turnarounds. 🙌🏻 There’s a lot of stuff that I wanted that they implemented in DR16. Can’t wait to try it after I finish my current projects.

  • @a-a-ron21

I'm looking forward to the first update. I found that after creating a fusion composition and converting to a compound clip once completed and no more fusion editing required that I had to move the compound clip up a level in the timeline or it would keep telling me media not available. I also keep getting notices that my GPU memory is full but it doesnt seem to actually hinder the performance and it happens sporadically while working within the same project. I am noticing much quicker rendering, however, but I havent had a chance to really throw a lot at it yet with particles and other effect nodes. So we'll see. So far, I'm loving it. I also agree with you that the Cut page will take some getting used to, but I think I will be able to incorporate it with my workflow once I get a good feel for it.

The cut page gives you a zoomed in timeline and a complete timeline (which the edit tool is missing!), editable as well. It also has an intelligent way to put footage in in a guessed intention. You have no longer to be frame-precise. Main functions are still available, e. g. Titles. Even a deliver tool is included.

its like the "final cut pro x" integration I always wished for. but as it feels right now, really really basic and obviously with this new editing keyboard in mind. which is how bm makes their money of cause. it will need some years to fully integrate it. but for a really fast rough cut it will be faster then the edit page. which is already nice. and bm is doing a really grate job, they are really fast and really visionary! I use is since 2009 for color grading and love it.. for editing they should integrate the new browser view to the normal edit page also.. and in editing.. the only thing annoying is editing multichannel audio for feature film, its like "normal slowly, premier, avid" in the edit page, but I would, which its the next step in the "cut" page, to do it like final cut does. I mean, edit "one" audio element, and decide afterwards which channels you want to activate. this is a lot faster then working right now. I wonder why they did not see it already...
