HOT SPOTS 31 BLUE ISLAND

One of Chicago's busiest railroad junctions, Blue Island sees trains from CSX, UP, BNSF, CN, CP, Iowa Interstate and Indiana Harbor Belt, with Metra crossing overhead. I was there many many times in the 50's & 60's. The grade crossing was always busy, had cars lined up for blocks. But as a young railfan, I thought it was GREAT!
