    "A human chaperone has to walk along side it to remote control it, if it gets confused."
    So basically it’s useless…

    • @soundninja99
      @soundninja99 Před 7 lety +13

      You missed the point. It's still in the development stage. The robot's future is of course pure automation without a chaperone.

    • @jdd1000

      +TTate so it's still useless right now? That's what I said.

    • @soundninja99
      @soundninja99 Před 7 lety +9

      No, it's not useless, but its use is just not what you're thinking. It's no to deliver food, but to develop the tech.

    • @jdd1000
      @jdd1000 Před 7 lety +3

      TTate yea I get that, but self driving cars were announced like 5 years ago & still nothing. All I'm saying is wait to say "it works!" until it actually works. Mainly I'm blaming the people who organized the video.

    • @jdd1000

    I dont see a version of this that does not clog sidewalks so I doubt something like this will actually catch on. However this is an interesting step into the future of robotics taking over basic jobs. A driverless car could drive to a customers home and the robot then rolls out of the car and approaches the home. That makes sense and completely removes the delivery job

    Having a robot do the delivery offers no advantages unless it is fully autonomous. We're close, but not quite there yet.

    A lot of people will consider this new upcoming wave of robotics and AI a great threat and they are very right about it, but the fact is this has happen many times before, when the people invented concrete the stone builders become concrete workers, when the steam came the horses and those who delivered goods with caravans changed their jobs, when the telegraph was invented the handwritten letters was not needed and the post mailmen needed to adapt too and leave aside their horses, when the car came or the electricity how many jobs had been lost back then? too many i say! But new jobs arise in the place of the old ones, and those who could not adapt...well they cast themselves aside and didn't do anything. The word the society is a living organism if it wont move forward it will slowly die by itself , evolution did the same in a way.
