How "rubbery" is the Ares edges? Or is it hardened plastic edges? Also does the Ares sit flat when laying down on its back?

Does the Ares Mag have any time-out issues when charging via magsafe? I recently purchased the "sister brand" UB Pro Mag case and it loses magsafe charging connectivity at the 1 min mark consistently.
