I'm not sure if yall have picked up on this yet, but Yuta (full name: Yuta Nakamoto) is Japanese 😅. Up until NCT2020, he was the only Japanese member (and only Japanese artist in the whole company), but now Shotaro has joined NCT (and Giselle in aespa is also Japanese).
Also, Jaehyun spent a couple years in the US when he was younger. That's why his english is so good.
Doyoung is the savage one because he has to survive from all the bullies from all the NCT members. He is actually strong. He is the mom, the smart one and the one who most of the members will first call when they need help.

yuta barely gets any representation which is probably y u guys don’t know him as much :( he’s my number one bias because he is very respectful! he’s SM’s first japanese idol yet they treat him horribly:/ i hope you guys see more yuta content! he’s seriously an all rounder.
SM treats all their foreign idols awful. They're infamous for the way they've treated Chinese idols in the past and now I guess they're just expanding those attitudes to their Japanese idols as well. :(

24:25 Nakamoto Yuta is japanese, he's a really good dancer and his voice is really unique, you'll recognize him instantly once you're better at names! He has a ✨healing smile✨. He often "lies", so when he's serious about smth no one believes him lmao. He wanted to be a soccer player (and he's really good at it) before auditioning for SM. Did i forget something? He's great, you'll love him!
For the members you're struggling with remembering;
-Jaehyun definitely has the deepest voice in nct127, he's somewhat quiet and has very perfect looking eyebrows and a very traditionally handsome face. He looks pretty serious but has a very pretty smile.
- Taeil is probably the shortest in nct127 but is the oldest member of all of nct. He has pretty noticeable round eyes and a more square shaped face. He's very sweet and gentle.
- Yuta has pretty striking eyes and his resting face can look kinda scary or angry. He has very handsome Japanese ethnic features and looks like the main character in a j-drama. His smile is very noticeable and pretty and shows off his upper teeth. (He's actually REALLY REALLY funny without even trying- I wish the guide had mentioned it)
- Jungwoo is actually the second tallest in nct127 and definitely on the taller side. Which contrasts his pretty soft sorta squishy facial features. He sorta resembles Taemin from Shinee, and has noticeable lips.
( I think those were they only ones you were struggling with so ill just put a few notes on the others)
- Doyoung really closely resembles a bunny and has a round/oval eye shape. Honestly the other NCT members are always clowning him so he always looks like he's holding back tears, or smiling the pain away. He just looks clean and proper to me.
- Johnny is the tallest nct127 member and one of the tallest members of nct overall. He has down turned, somewhat sleepy looking eyes. He also has a very distinct upturned lip shape. Also one of the more muscular members in NCT.
- Taeyong has very noticeable and strong eyebrows. His whole face shape is just pretty sharp in general. He's pretty slender, which is probably because he's a dancer. When he's not performing, his eyes look really bright and shiny, which fans say look like boba.
- Mark is pretty much average height when it comes to 127, but has a very boyish vibe. Big younger brother vibes. He has pretty noticeable cheekbones and round eyes. His face shape is pretty square.
- Haechan has a pretty round face, with pretty round lips, nose and eyes.
Jaehyun is the only baritone vocalist. Hopefully that will help you recognize his voice.

Haechan has a very unique beautiful voice and is incredible dancer
Yuta is indeed the kind one, but he's more to that his personality is actually very interesting. He is effortlessly funny, like he doesn't have to talk much, but once he speaks he just makes everyone laugh. There may be moments where Yuta can be kinda savage too. Like how the members describe him, "Yuta may look tough on the outside, but if you get to know him he's actually very sweet." Aside from singing and dancing, he's also great with drawing and arts. He's also hugely influenced by Japanese-rock and you can see it so much especially in his recent styling, look, and overall vibe.
Taeyong was street casted had no experience in dance ,rap or singing so he was trained and got amazing skills now trainers even had a hard time with and thought he was hopeless surprisingly hard to believe

Yuta is called the kind one because he’s the one the members go to for encouragement.
He’s also the one the members call the most manly and most new fans think Yuta is scary because he sometimes looks evil when he’s bored. I think looks like a manga character but I’m super bias. Yuta has a radio show for his Japanese fans. He speaks Japanese, Korean, English and Chinese.
Yuta also prefers the outdoors, plays soccer like a pro and likes ballads and hard rock.
Haechan loves Michael Jackson & Justin Bieber. He has a radio show and is a great MC.
He’s a brat and a sore loser but he’s also clever, funny and has a heart of gold.
My grandma is Japanese and said that one of the Japanese writing systems is the same as a mandarin writing system. So, they can write to each other, but cannot speak to each other.
yuta auditioned as a vocalist but started out as a dancer and kinda rapper (firetruck) but now hes a dancer vocalist. he used to be a soccer player then joined sm with no formal training in anything. he said he used to practice in small rooms with mirrors and practice until the mirrors started fogging up from the hear of his exhaustion. i think yuta is a very charming performer and hes capable of so many things, he just suffers from lack of screen time LMFAO so like reactors generally skip over him cos they dont rly get to see more in the things they react to.
Choosing Haechan as your bias 💚 I knew it tho. Hahaha. But for reals, Haechan in their content is so funny and just lovable. You will love him more as you see their more of their videos. 🙈 He will definitely make your day brighter.

About whether Korean is closer to Japanese or Chinese, I would say it draws from both. This is because Chinese characters (hanja) were used to write Korean until they developed their own 'alphabet' which is called Hangeul. Also, the Japanese occupied Korea for a bit during the 18th century so some words were adapted from the Japanese language as well. Therefore, I would say it draws from both as well as is its own individual language. Basically, they sound very different but if you pay attention. you might catch a few words here and there that sound Japanese or you might encounter words that are derivative from Chinese known as Sino-Korean.
Of course, this is based on what I have studied and my opinion, I am open to any corrections or clarifications that you might have.
If I remember my linguistics classes accurately, Korean is considered the only language in its branch which is to say it doesn't have any closely related languages that still survive.
Grammatically, the structure is more similar to Japanese. Mandarin and other Chinese languages are quite different in sound, structure and history. There are lots of borrowed words used in Korea from both Chinese and Japanese (and English these days of course). But in terms of a language tree, Korean is on its own branch, very unique :)
Don’t push yourself to learn all of them just yet, it takes everyone some time. Just keep watching their stuff and you’ll pick it up, no pressure.

The guy you kept seeing at 7:51 is Ten From WayV (Chinese subunit of NCT). At the time they were doing a promotion for "Baby Don't Stop", which was a duo by taeyong at ten.
Ten is actually Tai, so no idea why he is a member of WayV.
@@marydavis5234 Ten is actually of Chinese descent, his family is just from Thailand. He's from a Chinese Thai family. Generations back his ancestors migrated from China to Thailand. His family just followed what is Thai society. That is why he probably has a Thai name. Ten's ethnicity is Chinese tho. ( I was shocked when I found out lmaoo)

1. japanese is closer to chinese (because of kanji but thats iy) but theyre all very very very different
2. WayV is completely chinese all members are chinese, Xuxi is half thai half chinese

Soccer - Yuta, Jungwoo, the rest have pretty basic soccer skills.
Basketball - Jaehyun, Mark, Haechan(unconfirmed, Shotaro said he was good)
Bowling - Jaehyun, highest ever bowling score in ISAC.
One explanation to why a lot of the NCT guys play piano -- Asian parents love to make their kids learn to play piano and take it as far as they can go. lol

Doyoung-is pronounced like dough-nut, dough-young, Doyoung
Jaehyun-is pronounced like jay-hyun - like yuh or run with a y, jay-hYUHn, jaehyun
Haechan-is pronounced like hey-ch-ahn, haechan not like Channing Tatum (the sound of Channing sounds similar to Anne). I hope this is helpful it takes a little time to get their names right, it took me a while😀😁😄

33:14 Korean used to use Chinese characters long time ago. Because there were no letters, but only languages. However, King Sejong made Hangul(own Korean letters) for the people and was evaluated as the most scientific text. In fact, some minorities and tribesmen who did not have letters adopted Hangul as letters.The reason was that all sounds could be written. There are words that have similar pronunciations to those of China and Japan. Because I've been using Chinese characters for a long time. We use Hangul not similar anything.
I proud our Hangul, our unique alphabet. 😊😊

But I guess it really is kind of a struggle to recognize a group with 23 members what makes it harder is that some of the clips used had members from other units too 😂 but I guess the only way to help you recognize them is just to watch more content that isn't related to their music! ☺️ Their skits, shows, random videos they post on youtube. This way you start recognizing them by voice both speaking and on track, or even by personality! :D

You guys are doing great at learning their names don't rush it's better to go slow and get them correctly than to rush and have no idea which ones right also talk a little less over the video you can hear them sometimes saying each other's names so that'll help you with pronunciation.

Chinese Japanese and Korean have similar pronunciation in many words bcs at first we all use chinese character.Now japanese still use many chinese characters but korean create a new character system years ago.

33:17 They aren't close whatsoever. Korean , Chinese , and Japanese used to be similar a long , long , time ago, But Korean was later made into a different language itself by the King of Korea around year 1400. He sat down and wrote out Hangul himself and taught his people because he found Chinese language difficult. Hnagul then became the official Korean writing. Japanese and Chinese are pretty close to eachother though they have a hand full of similarities and japanese uses some chinese. I don't think korean is like any language. The only thing i think is similar between the three is Informal and Formal speaking.

34:00 incase anyone wants to know lol- I'd say Korean is closer to Japanese, because grammar-wise Korean and Japanese are almost identical, but Korean and Chinese use very different grammar.
One of the three Japanese alphabets is called Kanji, which is mostly similar to Hanzi (Chinese characters) So a lot of Japanese characters are derived from Chinese characters.
There's also Hanja- which is the Korean name for a traditional writing system made of Chinese characters that was used as early as the Gojoseon period (first ever Korean kingdom.) But now Hanja hasn't been used in Korea for like 70-80 years.
Other than Hanja, Korean writing isn't similar to Chinese.
So basically Korean is more similar to Japanese grammar-wise, but has little relation to Chinese. Japanese and Chinese are pretty similar though.
