SERENADE OF THE SEAS (DAY 1) Embarkation, Veranda Stateroom Tour, Ship Exploration, & Drink Package!

- Last week, Brennan and I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise aboard the Serenade of the Seas from Tampa Bay, cruising to Cozumel to celebrate Brennan's 30th birthday! After dropping Arlo off at the Best Friends Pet Hotel, we drove to Tampa to board the ship, have some lunch, get our drink package, and settle into our stateroom! We spent the evening exploring the ship, going to dinner in the Reflections dining room, and getting drinks from several bars throughout the Serenade. We had a fantastic sailing away evening, and were able to quickly get comfortable about the offerings and layout of the ship for the 4 nights/5 days we had to look forward too! When you also get coffees, juices and even wine, the package makes more sense. And if you don't like the drink, just dump it and get something else.

You went on your cruise when we were on the DVC cruise! You saw the new little mermaid film. On our cruise we met the original little mermaid (Jodi Benson) in the gift shop! 🧜♀️

When the Oasis leaves Port Liberty in Bayonne, NJ, it also just BARELY passes under the Verrazano Bridge (connecting New Jersey with Brooklyn) and apparently only has SEVEN FEET of clearance!
I wish we had been on the top deck to see how close it passes underneath, but we were lucky to run outside to see it, it happened really fast!
You guys always seem to have the highest tolerances... I couldn't do more than 2 before needing a nap. Or the drinks just really aren't strong? Looking forward to hear you guy's consensus on the drinks package!
Not sure if this ship has cococola freestyle machines. But I’m pretty sure whether or not they have them you can get the souvenir cups with the drink package from any bar
No freestyle machines that I saw, but if we walked up to any bar they had sodas and they'd just give us the can.
Were you guys hung over at all? And did you have to tip for each drink?

Gratuity was paid in advance with the drink package, about $100 for both of us, and if we wanted to individually tip on top of that depending on the service then we were welcome to! And no hangovers really, just a little dehydration haha.
Roy! Is the camera viewing everything extremely warm/yellowish or is it actually the lighting in the ship?

That’s the white balance! I had it set to daylight so inside the ship in certain light it might have been a little yellow. I used the G7X for this trip since it’s a little more compact, haha.
I’m so confused when you mentioned the time change and having an hour. Like was this recorded a long time ago ??
there’s a time change when you go to cozumel but the ship doesn’t change time so it gets confusing.
