Vaughn was a great Clone repaint figure. The Obi show version of the 501st clone... ehhhhhhhh not so much

Looking forward to adding him to the collection. So what if his helmet is a repaint of Cody's - they're military, standardized equipment is to be expected.
That´s not how standardized equipment works. It´s a bit of a stretch that Vaughn uses a customized armor set that´s almost exactly like Cody´s down to the shoulderpads wich are only ever seen used by Cody. Just like Phase 1 Fox was a repaint of Phase 1 Cody, Vaughn is just a repaint of Phase 2 Cody. You can headcanon it away but it is what it is.

Found this guy on a clearance sale at a retail store. Turns out they weren't selling so well where I live. I assume a lot of people get turned off by the orange color scheme on the helmet. I imagine it would have sold better if they had included a second helmet sculpt with a blue color scheme like they did with the TMS 23 figure.
The lateral slots along the mouth area, that are on Codys helmet... have been removed for Vaughns helmet.
Like you said the lateral slots are gone on vaughns helmet it’s and so is the vertical one on the chin. Which I guess makes it a new mild after all? But just very slightly?
@@douglasberggren7667 I agree with ya! There's just enough that has been changed, that would qualify it as a different mold. Even if the changes were minimal.
I received my Vaughn on Monday of this week. And haven't had the chance to compare it to my Cody figure.
I'm happy that Hot Toys made the proper changes!
I don't want any more trooper legions, I need droids! A 1/6 fully "roll in"-able droidika. That would be dope!

My Cody is currently displayed without his shoulder antenna. I'm too scared to put it on. 😂
The antenna on the helmet on the left side is the same thing. Yours is just broken on Commander Cody. Lol you also said it on your commander Cody review lol plus I have Cody also so I know 😅

The antennas on Cody and Vaughn’s helmets are the same. Looks like your Cody has a broken antenna 😬

Is it me or Captain Vaughn helmet model is actually smaller than Cody’s helmet. It’s hard to tell.
As much as I think these are cool, I'd much rather prefer Hot Toys release all the different clone variants from ROTS, many of which that have different armor/helmet designs but then again, they'll probably release all the cash grab troopers, right? lol
