- I was in Grand Teton National Park very recently and had the privilege of seeing and filming The Queen of the Tetons Bear #399 and her cub Spirit over a 3 day period. I was there a year ago on May 16th 2023 when she first brought her tiny little cub out of the den and introduced him/her to the world. It was an extraordinary event and I wanted to follow up now a year later and my how Spirit has grown. They both look healthy and beautiful. At 28 years old #399 is Royalty!
My family and I were in Yellowstone in June 2020 and the word was spreading fast throughout the park that 399 had been spotted in Grand Teton national park with 4 cubs! We drove down and had the privilege of seeing all 5 grizzly bears! It was so special and something my family and I will never forget!

She is such a calm, confident, dignified and graceful Bear. We are so fortunate that she has shared her life with us; yet she still remains wild. She arrived on the scene at a critical time for Grizzlies. And has taught us humans that bears are so much more than trophies for hunters.

Beautiful film of the Queen and Spirit; my sister and I were there 3 weeks ago and only got a glimpse of their behinds as they faded into the willow by Jackson dam...but just being in the area was exciting. May she and Spirit thrive and live long and us humans give them respect and the room they need to room in that vast wilderness. She is truly an amazing bear ambassador and they should remain on the ESA.

Beautiful video of this Matriarchal Queen and her beautiful, growing cub, Spirit ... I found watching it meditative in some sense. Thank you for helping to share her earthly and her symbolic presence in this splendid setting, where she brings expanded and timely perspectives for our human species to observe, consider and absorb.

I was there the same day! Didn't get as good of a video or pics as you. But it was still good to see her! I saw her the Saturday before this as well! Then again on Saturday the 1st and hopefully tomorrow!

The Grizzly bear is a magnificent and powerful animal for sure with surprising speed and reflexes. Who do you think would come out on top in a battle between a grizzly and a gorilla ? Let me know your opinions and why. I think the gorilla would prevail due to it's superior agility.
