Most Asians have the ABCC11 gene which reduces body odor to the point that you can’t smell it unless you put your nose right on someone’s armpit. Lots of Asian countries don’t use deodorant for that reason.

Allow me to clarify. As someone who is currently living in Korea….but not just Korea, but also Japan and China that there’s this weird concept that Asians “don’t smell” when perspiring. Very very untrue. What some assume is a “natural” smell it’s what we Americans call musty. Just for some reason they don’t smell it hat way. One funny example, summer time, took a public bus, smelled funky asf, looked around wondering if anyone smelling the same thing as I am. Everyone seemed like it was just another day. Got off the bus asap…….

I don’t use deodorant. I mix lemon juice (or lime) with witch hazel, put it in a spray bottle, and spray my underarms if I need it. It neutralizes any smell.

If you’re diet is that good, it’s possible that you don’t have to use deodorant cause it won’t get that smelly. You’ll still sweat but it still won’t stink as much, nothing a shower won’t fix. There are also natural deodorants or alternatives that you can use instead of the usual axe spray
I stopped using deodorant after higg school when my professor told me metal is what clogs your pores to prevent it from sweating. I'm also Asian and don't have body odor

Not everyone has to wear deodorant or antiperspirants. Not everyone has BO. Deodorant literally only covers up BO, it doesn’t kill bacteria or stops you from sweating. So it’s wild to think not wearing deodorant is unhygienic. Just wear it if you need it.
However, people who think Asians don’t have BO are also wrong. The subway stinks during summer even when it’s early in the morning. And the fact that you can find deodorant/ antiperspirants in every drugstore in Asia means there is a demand for them.

I think I read Koreans don't wear deo because it's in their gene not to smell. Also some people really don't have underarm smell even they don't use deo. My sister in law is one. Cologne is NOT bad for you for the same reasons deoderant is. Deoderant contains metals that block your lymph passageways.
For those who don't know, many east Asians, and almost all koreans have a gene that prevents them from producing body odor, or something along those lines. Which may be why the people in the video don't use it, bc they don't need it. It's actually why it's almost impossible to find deodorant in Korea. It's just not something the majority of Korean's need to buy, hence the title of the video. Of course, you could buy it online in Korea, but the point is, most koreans don't need it. Same goes for many other east Asians.
You can find over 20 brands of deodorant in Olive Young and in the EMarts. It’s not almost impossible. It’s actually fairly easy but it’s not advertised.

Maybe she just started using it and her body was detoxing itself or whatever but she stank up every room she was in and what's funny is your nose smells you before anyone else has a chance too so it's crazy to notice how many people just stink and don't know it, I feel so bad for people who stink and I'm around them.
