Thanks! It was honestly a strain on the vocal cords for me since our director put us at the very back of the stage and I had to project a LOT.

Auditioning for a play!
A heads up for people who are wondering how to hit the 'scream' note, I was cast as her, and warming up my voice worked quite well. And besides, it isn't really a note, she is actually screeching because she's so bratty and ticked. Also, if your auditioning for this play, and you need a song, I recommend not doing one from this musical, because then they will have a hard time not be able to see you as the character the song is sung by, which gives you less of a chance to make it in. In truth, just making it is good, a lead role is just a big old bonus. Good luck c:

@@MiDoReLunar I wouldn’t do a song to a specific role honestly. It lowers your chances of getting a different role cause your casting yourself. I auditioned for veruca the first night and did a regular song the next night and got Charlie bucket! Just sing a song that suits your voice

We did Willy Wonka at my high school and while I was cast as Matilda (one of the soloist candy kids), I was able to stand-in for some of the actors when they were gone from rehearsals (I remember I stood in for Charlie a couple of times and I stood in for Violet, Mrs. Gloop, and I believe I briefly got to stand-in for Mike once) and once I was able to stand in for the girl playing Veruca. It's kinda cathartic playing a brat, not gonna lie.
