  • This video shows how to make a ring out of a rock (How to make a ring from a rock). The rock used is granite. I did not use a Dremel tool to make this ring. A drill press and lathe are all you need to make a stone ring. I will be uploading many more rock to ring videos coming soon so subscribe to see a multitude of rocks being transformed into a ring. Stone rings are a super cool handmade item easily made by any DIY'er.

      @Agate Dad Thanks! I have a lot more ring videos coming up with many other rock types. I don't have agate around where I live so if you ever want a ring done email me and I'll make it happen! I only recently figured out how to make different sizes.

    Would that work in a children’s rock tumbler? Great tutorial. Also did you make those inserts yourself that was holding the ring as you were rounding it

      I'm not sure of the brand. They are called diamond tipped hole saws. I just used the common multipack found on amazon.

    Have you made an icosahedral dice? I want to make one out of some rhyolite I have. And I have a piece that I think is rhyolitic tuff with lapili inclusions but, it's dark like it has a lot of plag in it, so I thought maybe basalt

      @johnneyyoungs2648 Před rokem +3

      I've been cutting rings with just a dremel tool. However I would recommend getting a drill with the diamond hole saws just for the sake of time. Doesn't have to be a drill press if you're comfortable with a hand drill

    Really makes me wonder how the f our ancestors made entire vessels with accuracy so precise it makes your ring look like a throwaway. Just want to clarify I think your ring is really, really cool - just acknowledging the craftsmanship of the ancients.

    Для создания колец из камня всегда использовали прямую оправку и мягкую мастику. А такой способ как на видео не очень хороший, так как изделие получается не пропорциональным .
