You’ve clearly thought a lot about this and have covered all the important points here, but I would like to add one more: (like you said, I’m not targeting specific communities either) but I’ve noticed toxicity more on java edition, because people on java are kbm and have more access to chat, and can type faster and are generally richer and can get another account if they get banned, but on bedrock, there isn’t much toxicity because most players are just little kids and are on controller so it’s impossible to type properly. I also liked that you wrote gf in after the game, or also do that after most games despite being on controller, because I cannot start toxic players or players who don’t appreciate their opponent. Anyways, very well made, subscribed

Sometimes its hard to not be toxic especially to hackers. They just cheat and say gg even though they're hacking and I get really frustrated with them.
the worst hackers are when they win and says "ez", "L" or "noob"
The problem is with that is, Where The Hell do you know that someone hacks? Nowhere, without proper evidence, Shut Up is the correct answer for the self-promoted player "Admins".
Nice vid clearly highlighting the points. I play bedrock edition and toxicity is prominent there as well, but I think its not as severe as java edition though.

I used to play LOTS of competitive pokemon (peak #1 in the online ladder) and the lack of toxicity is astonishing there. When i first started playing lots of Hypixel it was so insanely frustrating to have to deal with toxicity so often since i was so not used to it. Recently i picked up overwatch and as a diamond player i can confidently say that ow players have nothing on the average wanna be bedwars sweat when it comes to making others feel miserable
I have never experienced the toxicity that I have playing Minecraft on any other game. It’s crazy it’s such an innocent game but has such a toxic community (a minority of players ofc)
Once my friend and u were playing bedwars, we failed to get their bed and they became toxic for no reason

Thank you for covering this topic! I am 11 years old, and when I played bridge everyone said I'm terrible and will always be toxic towards me. After this I didn't play mc for a week just because I felt so bad abt how bad I played when in reality I played really good, thank you, you made my day.
I dont recomend playing competetive mc minigames till ur like 13 bc wen i started playing the players would be toxic but i jus brushed it off and never thought more of it. Making friends was also a big part in it, if u get good friends that dont mind carrying you thats where you really learn how to play the game but u do u

I 100% agree. Like you said, in the end Minecraft is just a block game everyone can enjoy and people who should be mature enough to know not ruin other people's fun are. It's really disappointing. And even though I've been playing Minecraft for a while and can deal with toxicity, I sometimes disable chat because it makes me genuinely sad to see people get bullied and targeted while trying to have fun.
I get annoyed when I lose but I can’t stand it when people are toxic as hell saying the worst things possible. Even tho it may not do much, whenever someone puts something toxic. I just simply type, “Don’t be toxic “

during the covid era i was like 11 ish and started out playing minecraft i joined a cracked server (yes im broke cuz my parents hate video games) and i started playing some minigames
since i was new i kept losing a lot and some of these ppl in my lobbies were downright verbally abusing me the told me things such as "go kill urself" , "dumb asian motherf****"(they asked me where i was from and i replied mainly because i wanted friends and to connect) and "stupid black n****" i barely knew what these meant and fast forward to 2023 (im 14 now ) my friend let me borrow his mc account to play hypixel and they told me the exact same shit (except the second one) but cranked it up to 11.
as a sweat the only time i see myself being toxic is with irl friends(no the bad shit only L or EZ) because as a victim of toxicity i can understand the impact it makes on a person , so if a person gets mad if i beat them in bedwars i just invite them to a party and play with them.
That’s terrible to hear. People don’t realize what they say over a video game can really hurt.

Thanks man! And it can be tough trying to break the toxic cycle. Good on you for actively trying to reduce it, I think we’ve all been guilty of an “L” or two at one point or another. The key is making sure the specific things in the video I mentioned aren’t said, because those go so far beyond smack talking.
The MC PVP community in general has single handedly been the worst gaming community I have ever been in pirod. People in this game are as mature as high school kids.
Playing on servers like Lunar, Minemen Club and Hypixel is like doing self-harm. And like you said It's always the goddamn best players that act like this. I could letterly get my ass walked by these people in-game and then 2 seconds after the game these man-childs would go into my ingame dms just to ridicule me for even trying to learn how to play the game and tell me game end myself.
I'm not a sweat or toxic, but sometimes i still outrage cuz i'm losing like every time i play on a server.

This is relatable... a random sweat in bw that I've never met before called me something that got me kicked out of the party I was in. It rattled me more than I want to admit
i personally think that a lot of toxicity [like unprovoked insults with no point*] is an ego thing, because losing is really annoying, especially when you lose to a player that you see as an idiot [like they acted really annoying etc] but there are a few other reasons. There are a lot of points* [like annoying playstyles] but people often get provoked and fall to the level of PURE toxicity with no point. basically i feel like there are a lot of annoying things like runners and bowspammers, and a lot of us just start being toxic towards people like these and lose our points that we want to make, so hypixel and other servers could reduce toxicity by not letting people provoke others
If by provoke youre referring to in game provocation, I disagree. Nothing done in game warrants toxicity (obviously I’m taking about play-styles here and not things like racist builds or writing terrible messages on things like signs). But if you’re referring to people being toxic first by saying something then I can understand why people respond with toxicity. No matter what tho it’s always best to aim to not be as toxic of course

There is literally no problem with them insulting you when winning, but there is, if they insult you and you've lost. I was addicted to game just by this, playing over and over just to fight those who said these f*ed up things, the best way to enjoy the game and win more likely is just disabling public chat and private messages, that works 💯, and if you found those guys somewhere, just block them, dont let them fk u up.

I once was playing a game of bedwars on Hypixel and the last team aqua I got destroyed by him and aqua started being toxic. But then he lagged out and got pretty angry😂
I have been this guy for years now, and gladly i managed to change that.
I really want to go back and stop myself from doing it because being toxic didnt benefit anyone anyway.
