my mom has multiple myeloma :[ but i am so so sorry to hear about your dad. i'll keep you in my thoughts and send positive vibes his way. aggressive cancers are terrible, but i hope some positive thinking can extend those 2 months. enjoy the time you have, and seek out all the love you can.
yes - they all do. handprint is my mom's - she's my best friend/biggest supporter and won't always be physically around (read: cancer) and so its for her to always be there. rat is a Banksy stencil with an equality symbol in the sign. the tree rings are for important moments in my life (thats the band around my arm.) ancora imparo means 'I'm still learning" and supposedly Michelangelo scrawled it near one of his final works. ive got others you can't see in this video, but those you can!
I'm thinking of planning one for this summer, to help folks with general questions since I can't always respond in a timely manner. What sort of format/site/situation is good? (others, feel free to let me know too!)
usually the word "steal" sets me off when it comes to copying tattoo designs - that being said, there are many people with handprint tattoos. all i want to say is that my handprint tattoo came from my own original idea and is the most special tattoo i have. coming up with it, the idea and design, was a wonderful process that i hope you can appreciate. i highly recommend coming up with something unique and original to you and your grandfather's experience together, but it's your choice, friend.
I have been following you for more than a year now, and I have to say I am so impressed with you! You are beautiful and inspiring and I simply cannot wait to read your book. Congratulations on all your successes and I see many more for you in the future. The work you are doing is world-changing and extremely important and sacred and I think your words and videos are likely a lifeline for many trans people, adults and kids alike. You have helped to educate me so much.

for the summer at least! yeah i love maine, it's actually much nicer than i anticipated (hard leaving the hometown, but my mom LOVES maine and i love biking along the coast :D)

i've grown about half an inch. T can stunt and fuse your growth plates - my friend who started when he was 14 is only about 5'2, whereas his projected growth was 5'5. i haven't seen anyone post-puberty who has grown on T, but i do stand up taller post top surgery. where abouts do you live?
I am actually going to go to Grad School for Social Work. All of what you said about thinking about being your MSW is what I am going to do! I am about to graduate college with a double major in sociology and gender & women studies. I wish you all the luck and success and I hope that one day I will be able to meet you. I will go to the Trans health conference for sure next year! You are an inspiration in all you do and your art (as a dream of becoming an artist). Thank you so all you do!

There's really no such thing as "Full Genital Reassignment Surgery" in our community. "Fully transitioning" is as far as each individual wants to go - some choose hormones, others don't. Everyone's transition is different :] Specifically - genital surgery is optional - some want it, others don't. There are over three different kinds of genital surgeries out there for FTM's (google-able.) Phalloplasty is the closest to resembling a cis-male penis. I haven't had a phalloplasty nor plan to.
sadly, no :/ have no friends down there at this time!
check out the "In a bind" program - originalplumbing(dot)com also has many resources to help. look for local chapters of gsa type clubs/pflag/glsen as well to see if you can get some support there!

my favorite person in the whole world is FTM Trans and between these videos and being close to hi m my eyes have really opened. I am joining the LGBT club at my university and I am hoping to become a mentor since many of my friends are part of the LGBT community. It's such a wonderful community and I have been so blessed to have my gay and trans friends in my life. My trans friend just went through chest surgery and I am so proud of him. I am absolutely in love with him and his journey!

So if I read right, your mom has cancer. I would like to say I am sorry. My father has cancer and has been given 2 months to live, so i know how scary the thought of a parent not being around is. You are a wonderful person and stay strong!

when i started to watch your videos i didnt understand a lot about trans and stuff when i actually click on the video i didnt even know what was it about, lol. personally, I really appreciate all the time you have taken so far making this kind of videos! they are really interesting and i have learned a lot through them, they made me thought about my sexuality and discovered that theres nothing wrong about not being straight or being a trans. i ended up accepting im bisexual, continues...

Sorry about the long wait Skylar, I've been going through hell lately haha. Actually I live in titusville, Florida. Well I'm stuck at 5'3" pre-T anyways so theres that. Other than ways to find out about Trans hang outs, do you know any groups that might be willing to help someone start going through the actual process of transitioning as well as like donation groups because I really want to do this but I can't even make basic fundage for a binder let alone seek psychiatry.

Hey Skylar, fellow trans guy, pre T, Pre-op, I was just wondering, since you started on T, have you noticed any physical growth? Like have you gotten taller? I know that some cases have been shown to grow a little bit, and I was just curious if you'd been measured height wise anytime recently? Also, do you know any good ways to find Trans communities- I live in a super empty area, and I dont even know how to find out if there are any other trans guys around here, that I could hang out with..

I like the idea of the hand print on the shoulder, but higher up and I want the print to actually be a picture of an anchor but in the shape of a hand with the texture that a hand print would leave, if you can understand what I mean.. I'm sorry for using the word steal
