    The craziest scene ever is the fight with the SS (for american heroism it must be allways SS - it looks like noone knows that at the end of war most of SS were WaffenSS units, these soldiers are forced or conscripted to this units, no more elite).
    As an old tankcrew member i know, it was in WW2 and is today, if enemy infantry is around your tank you are dead.

    It's actually important to note that while the entire crew were extremely hard on Norman, only the loader (Grady) was actually bullying him and being an asshole, the rest were all stern but fair to him, at 5:54 for example the driver (Gordo) scolds Norman for almost getting them all killed when he didn't shoot the anti tank German in that trench fast enough, but lets it go when Norman gives the very valid reason of being out of ammo

    • @myegyptiandadreacts4824
      @myegyptiandadreacts4824  Před 2 lety

      I felt Gordo was bullying bc him for the sake of making him toughen up quicker. (Except in the Emma sequences) which was out of jealousy.
      Keep in mind he was the first to congratulate Norman when he mowed down the Germans and called him a good man

    I always feel very fortunate when I find a very new reaction channel just starting out. There are so many possibilities, I can't wait to see how the channel develops.
    I have somewhat mixed feelings about Fury, because the folks who made the movie tried so hard to achieve a realistic feel, but made so many unrealistic and nonsensical choices in the combat scenes. The performances and overall story of the movie are very dramatic, but there are things depicted in the film that just make no sense, if you know just a little bit about the real history of the time and place. For one thing, they enhanced the appearance of the tracer bullets, to the point where almost every other bullet fired seems to be a tracer round...but really the tracer rounds were usually loaded 1 to every 4 bullets.
    OK, a small thing, but it adds into the overall unrealism of a lot of the combat scenes, just like the complete absence of any Allied artillery or ground attack aircraft anywhere in the film. The worst scene is the big duel against the Tiger tank, which was scripted to make it more dramatic, but would never have gone the way it was shown. Even worse, there was no need for that scene to be so unrealistic for the sake of drama, since if they had made it completely realistic, it could have been even MORE dramatic. One important thing to know, the makers of the film depict the main gun on Fury as being unable to kill a Tiger tank from the front, but that is just not true...in reality, the gun on Fury could reliably kill the Tiger from the front at ranges over 600m. The short barrel 75mm gun on the standard Sherman tank did have great difficulty getting through the armor on the front of the Tiger, but Fury had a long barrel 76.2mm high velocity gun...which could even penetrate the Tiger from the front at ranges of over 1000m, as long as the armor was not angled.
    I just wish they had not made so many things so unreal so that they would not detract from the rest of the good things about the film. 🖖💯✌

    • @myegyptiandadreacts4824
      @myegyptiandadreacts4824  Před 2 lety +8

      You're absolutely right about the realism aspect. It's a shame they sacrificed some of it for the sake of drama, especially in such a beautifully written and acted movie with such loveable characters. Yes, even Grady! :)
      I know most people see him as this 2 dimensional A-hole, since he bullied Norman the hardest but I noticed he was also the first to praise Norman when he did good. He just wanted Norman to adapt and toughen up in my opinion.

    • @theshermantanker7043
      @theshermantanker7043 Před 2 lety

      Fun fact: At close range even the shortbarreled 75mm the regular Shermans had were almost capable of going through the 100mm of steel the Tiger's front hull armour is made of (not the turret front though, that was reinforced with the gun mantlet), and even though a shot from the relatively small 75mm AP would never go through the first time it would cause such massive spalling that the crew often bailed out despite a non penetration, and spalling aside the impact from the non penetrating shell often left the front hull looking like literal swiss cheese, guaranteeing that even a small gust of wind to that same spot later on would probably cause the Tiger's armour to fold like cardboard

    • @theshermantanker7043
      @theshermantanker7043 Před 2 lety

      @@myegyptiandadreacts4824 Grady was still quite an asshole, I don't fully blame him because it's likely he's the most traumatized out of the crew, but that doesn't excuse the way he acted on some parts of the movie

    My great grandpa was a tank commander in the 101st SS heavy panzer division.
    The tiger, sherman combat scene is a total lie. German or any tanks only knockout the leading tank first and it will take 6 to 8 sherman to knockout a tiger if the crew is lucky. Ther was a story of a single tiger knocked out 19 out of 20 newly arrived sherman tanks.

    That was good - thanks.
    I do have a suggestion. And i'm just trying to be helpful here;
    So much of this film was low-light -
    dark interiors of the tank, night shots - your white/light shirts and light/cream backgrounds overpower the film's scenes. I'm watching on a cell phone so i'm looking at a small screen. My pupils can't dilate well enough to see the detail of the movie because of the relative brightness of the rest of the screen.
    Maybe dim down the room and the clothing, lighten the movie screen, or both for a better viewing experience.
    Thanks, gentlemen -

    The part where they force the character Norman to execute the German soldier, isn't that hard to believe. The reason why they execute that soldier. Is because the German soldier is wearing a U.S. army long coat. Now this has some historical presidents. During the end of the Battle of the Bulge. When the U.S. army is pushing the German Army back, and taking prisoners. Lots of U.S. Army units would force German prisoners to take off captured articles of uniforms. Mainly U.S. Army boots. Some U.S. Army Airborne soldiers would take this to the extreme. Where those soldiers would not only force the German prisoners to take off captured U.S. boot, but if those boots were jump boots(which were issued to Airborne units) then those soldiers would force the German prisoners walk in deep snow. Till those prisoners could not feel the tip of a bayonet on te bottoms of their feet. Which would mean those prisoners would end up losing their feet.

    People tend to bash Fury for its historical inaccuracies but what it does do well is show how horrific major wars get towards the end. They don't just wind down an peter out, wars get worse. From the losing side getting desperate and using old men and children to both armies being whittled down to veterans who have been at war too long. The constant dehumanization.

    This film is very good, the costumes are very real, the photography, but there are some very deceitful scenes.
    The scene of the SS battalion marching in broad daylight would have been IMPOSSIBLE in April 1945. The Allies had total air supremacy and marching in broad daylight and singing was asking to die. The tank scene is also pretty untrue, as no tank commander would ever sacrifice himself to protect an intersection at that point in the war with a stationary tank. Tanks are useless without mobility. The combat scene against the German Tiger tank is also a bit of a lie. You would NEVER advance towards a tiger, it would be suicide.
