[4K] Florida Keys USA Scenic Drive - Islamorada to Key West via A1A Highway Road Trip

- The Florida Keys are a coral cay archipelago located off the southern coast of Florida, forming the southernmost part of the continental United States. They begin at the southeastern coast of the Florida peninsula, about 15 miles south of Miami, and extend in a gentle arc south-southwest and then westward to Key West, the westernmost of the inhabited islands, and on to the uninhabited Dry Tortugas. The islands lie along the Florida Straits, dividing the Atlantic Ocean to the east from the Gulf of Mexico to the northwest, and defining one edge of Florida Bay. At the nearest point, the southern part of Key West is just 90 miles from Cuba.
One of the longest bridges when it was built, the Seven Mile Bridge connects Knight's Key (part of the city of Marathon in the Middle Keys) to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys. Among the longest bridges in existence when it was built, it is part of the Overseas Highway in the Keys, which is part of the 2,369-mile U.S. Route 1.

Ive done this drive to Key West twice. It never gets old. it's such a beautiful drive. Love the Florida Keys.
I have done this drive 4 times. I loved it every time. I want to do it again maybe this summer. Hang out in key west after for a few days. I loved seeing this part of America. We all need to do more drives like this. See the sites and meet the people that live and work along our well-traveled roads.
You know what? I can't stop thinking that you do your best to remind me of the wonderful days I spent in the USA. :) I was driving on these very roads and enjoying the scenery just last March! It was a lot of fun. I strongly hope to be there in the shortest time possible!

In my opinion this is a much more peaceful and beautiful drive than PCH in Cali.

Move to florida its perfect
Hope you plan on having atleast 8 grand a month. It's not the cost of housing but the flood Insurance and the electric bills make it very difficult to live there.
Florida Keys are SUPER expensive. And have high flood risk. Great to visit though 👍🏽

@@tameikabrown It was awesome! A very relaxing couple of weeks off.. I stopped a few places along the way to visit old friends and family. My buddy flew down to Miami and I picked him up and we rode down the rest of the way together.

i lived here also; i also left a similar comment for your drive from Malibu to Santa Barbara along PCH/101. you have to be careful in Big Pine Key and not hit any of the key deer - you'll go to jail for that; you drove by where i used to work on Boca Chica ...

not sure if it's possible, but perhaps you can try to add a small map in one of the corners w/ 50% opacity that shows exactly where you are.

You're right ❗ They're trapped. The price you pay... lived in Southeast Florida 1981-2002. Went through the "Storm of the Century" and that was enough. A big reason I left eventually. I bet it's crazy crowded today. By the way I'm a very positive person. It comes down to logic.☺️🌺
