That's a opportunity of a lifetime, when you become a Cardinal and opening day, this is something you will remember for the rest of your life, welcome to Cardinals nation Jordan Walker
It is not often that I come across a young phenom at the highest level of sports that is so naturally likable as Jordan Walker. Even if I wasn't already a Cardinals fan, I would still be a Jordan Walker fan. I hope he is the same person all the time as what we see in videos like this because I want to root for him for many years!
Baseball fan for 50 years and it’s so good to see more young black players embracing this beautiful game. I’m a Angels fan but I’ll be watching the Cards for Jordan Walker ✌🏾
@@rayshardsmith2546 - All the black youths aim for football or basketball. Baseball isn't really that popular with them but I bet if it was, 2/3 of the majors would be black.
I absolutely love seeing this. It's so cool to get the behind the scenes look and see the players interact with each other and to also see up close what the Cardinals Hall of Famers say to the players when going down the line shaking their hands. I hope to see more of these mic'd up videos.
I love this kid.. He's going to do so good here he's going to be here for a very long time and pretty soon he's going to be must watch baseball. Today was no fluke. Mason Winn and Jordan Walker are going to have a ton of games like this... A game like today could start a 15 or 20 game streak.
That would day was so beautiful and promising and I would have never thought that we would be sitting here looking at 76 losses going into September.. It is what it is though if the Cardinals can win a boatload of games in September they can find their selves in the playoffs because we're still only 11 games out of that wild card. I mean there's a hundred wild-card teams this year anybody can get it. Lol. I honestly love the fact that there's 3 waldcards.
Pretty easy to see why Alec Burleson was selected to be on the roster. Yeah, he's got talent. But he also fits in so well. He and Jordan make quite a duo, I bet...
@@GatoSalvaje Ah yes, Mozeliak 'ruined' this team! By drafting a plethora of phenom prospects, building a stacked outfield with great defense, WORST OF ALL getting Arenado for basically free, and going out and signing consistently elite MVP Paul Goldschmidt. HOW TERRIBLE! lmao If you think for a second that Mozeliak isn't doing everything he can to provide LONG TERM SUCCESS for this team, you are seriously out-of-touch! (Which is obvious because you are silly enough to advocate for his firing.) He made extremely shrewd and intelligent off-season decisions, EVERY 'big' pitcher signed in this off-season has some sort of injury, most of them near-season-ending. Not going after them turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the fans, but you need to understand that these people have MUCH much more information about players and their conditions/potential/etc. than we, the public, or even the media, do. There are literally DOZENS of much worse GMs that are currently employed in MLB, and nobody is perfect; everyone also has different visions for where the team is and needs to go. (Fans/players/GMs/Ownership/etc.) As far as Oli Marmol, his biggest 'rookie' mistake has been treating the media as his friend, he needs to understand that they are there for a headline and drama they care little about the success of his team, or any team (that isn't backed by the same company as the media outlet). As soon as he learns that and learns that he has to control himself and keep these things internal. Marmol's immaturity is more visible, in my opinion, because there are SO MANY veteran managers across the league right now. So when he makes those mistakes it's more apparent. I thought the Cardinals should have signed Mike Sciocia, he seemed like the best fit for the squad.
@@GatoSalvaje I was talking specifically about potential free agent signings, you're a bozo and your tone is wack. Dude has made some bad trades, yes I know about the Alcántara trade every one knows about that trade. There are other trade moves that I didn't like either like Arozarena; it was obvious he was a future superstar but (it seems as if) Mozeliak doesn't like black players. (Also look at the nonsense demotion of Jordan Walker and now moving Contreras to RF/LF.) Trading Arozarena and Adolis Garcia I think are equally large blunders to the Alcántara trade but you dont know what you're taking about so you don't mention those you just cite the most well-known trade blunder he's made. People can make mistakes and still be brilliant or even genius. Hell, Einstein and Oppenheimer made the nuke.. That's part of life. As previously stated, nobody is perfect, but to think that he isn't trying to play the best team he has is so, extremely, out-of-touch. I don't agree with MANY of his decisions but you don't even know 1/3 of what the GM knows on any given day. Nonetheless about his own team. ✌ P.S. This team is lost w/o Molina's bench management. And Marmol has a COMPLETE LACK of understanding bullpen management and how to put-together a lineup. So there's also that.. ✌
I love Alec Burleson and Jordan's chemistry haha "You had dinner with Ozzie? How come I wasn't invited? Where did you guys go... Outback?"
What I love about Jordan is you can hear the lil kid in him still 😊 I love that the saint Louis cardinals have him on there team!
I feel that with noot too
To be honest with a team with vets like Nolan and Goldy having some kid energy can go a longs way during a long season
@oldmansportsog2514 Well that aged badly 😂😂😂
Beyond stoked for Jordan to be a Cardinal. Welcome home bud.
And retire as a Cardinal!

this guy is the future. protect him at all costs.
Those Cardinal uniforms are fire.
That was great to see his first impression of things about opening day. I hope he was able to keep the nerves down and take in the moment and enjoy it
Welcome Jordan Walker!!!
You're a big one!!!

Opening day in St Louis is nostalgic.
There really is nothing like it in baseball...
Is Baseball Heaven. 😊
That was so cool!
Imagine the Wizard wanting to go eat with you! Too cool!!!
How long has it been since youve rooted for someone so much? Hope this kid has the Birds on the Bat for the next 20 yrs
I’ve always wondered what it would be like on the field for opening day. Thank You!
He is the Future! So excited for him!!!
Congrats Jordan. Cardinal nation is with you 100%. Go Cards!
Jay Walk is the man
Love the perspective, phenomenal content!
Tommy should have let that comment about "keeping the truck" linger a little longer. 🤣
Awesome video! Love this kid.
Dudes literally living his and my dream
You can tell he's got a good head on his shoulders. This kid is the real deal.

Holy shit this would be so cool😂
Lars Nootbaar is the ultimate hype man. "Let's go, let's go, have a day!"
Got me ready...

seems like he has a good head on his shoulders and hope hes here to stay for awhile
“You get to keep the truck too”
“What really?!”
“No. 😂”
He’s got the feeling of a future hall of fame baseball player.
Call him back up asap, he needs real game reps, he’s our future
Dude might be the next pujols. I hope he doesn't worry about those expectations though and just plays his game.
"Jordan got ran over by a Clydesdale" 🤣
Someone should tell Bill Dimwitt to mic up that stellar starting rotation he didn't pay for? But I'm glad JW'b got his first HR! Way to go kid!
No big deal kid just started his career tying Ted Williams for 9 game hit streak and I think he gets to ten games tonight
Was that Mark McGwire?
At the 3:18 mark? Yes - he's between Ted Simmons and Jim Edmonds.
Why does he sound like Russell Wilson the QB.😂😂😂
JORDAN WALKER IS THE BASEBALL SON OF GEORGE HENDRICK
Alec wasn’t invited because the dude sucks
fire Marmol, hire a veteran coach that brings his own GM and pitching coach like LaRussa did with Jocketty and Duncan
