    I owned a travel scoot for 9 years. Great machine. Many compliments everywhere I went. Travels great. My only complaint... I wish it had more power. I sold it last year and bought a triad 750 XL (powerful) but doesn’t travel as well... having said that, it did great at Disney(FL).
    Two different machines with different capabilities. Sport vs Practicality.

    What degree of incline can it handle? Looking for something that will easily let me use public transit - not only does it need to go up the ramp to load on/off the bus, but also need to operate up/down my driveway, as the garage is tucked under the house. I'm not a scooter carrying up/down steps whenever I need to go out. The neighborhood is on top of a small hill surrounded in every direction by bridges and pedestrian underpasses. Local grocery shopping means traveling a 10-20 degree slope for about 2 city blocks. I'm looking for something that tucks out of the way -- even while in use -- and this scooter looks the part for flat surfaces. But like all scooters, the visuals show operation on basically flat terrain like we're all in the prairies. Please show travel up/ down a slope (the max it can handle preferred), so we can envision if and how it will handle during regular daily routines for our circumstances.

    • @TravelScootUSA
      @TravelScootUSA  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for the question. The TravelScoot will do twice that of an ADA-approved ramp. So around 8 degrees. A 20-degree slope is a 36% slope. The steepest roads you'll find are about that. Mountain passes are about 8 degrees. We do not recommend you use any mobility scooter on such a steep incline.

To me the ATTO looks like the TESLA of mobility scooters whilst the TRAVELSCOOT looks like a child's tricycle. However, the ATTO is around 10 KGs heavier but does break into two parts for easier lifting.

      Thanks for your comment. Once again: Our scooter it still the lightest and strongest on the market today. This requires uncompromising engineering, materials and workmanship (btw, these are hand-built). You can purchase inexpensive (under $1000) scooters that weigh 3X as much or more and carry less, maybe 250 lbs., and have conventional batteries, and little or no warranty or product support. You can also find similar products (not as light, though) that cost considerably more. Feel free to contact us as usa@travelscoot.com if you have any questions or further comments.

    This style unit runs about $2,500. Yes, as much as an old used car. Absurd cost! I just picked a small[ish] scooter, used with second battery pack, for $350. So don't buy new. These things are cheap and easy to fix anything wrong with them. Much the same controls as an R/C robot or car without the wireless parts.

    • @TravelScootUSA
      @TravelScootUSA  Před 5 lety +3

      One can find used conventional (read: heavy - you'll need a lift to get into and out of a car) mobility scooters, of course, in various price ranges. You can also pick up a used bicycle for free at most garbage dumps, or find a nice used competition bike for a few thousand $. Most mobility scooters are constructed of stamped steel parts that are then bolted and/or wire-feed welded, with very little innovation. The TravelScoot frame is made of formed, TIG-welded, heat-treated and anodized aluminum. It's strength-to-weight ration is over 10:1, far surpassing that of conventional scooters. The complete scooter weighs just 35 lbs. with battery! We'd love to tell you more about the TravelSoot. Just give us a call at 800 342-2214.
