I never much thought of or cared for repeating watches but….. after hearing a few, i feel an urge to get one. If only someone was building 18th c style watches today 😅
Singing bird boxes I inherted one from my great great great grandfather. It's a jules jürgensen and it's still running, but i would never even consider wearing it.
My wife's grandparents are from Germany - last name Schraeder. We were in Germany last year - love it. You could always buy a nice pocket stand so you can enjoy the watch periodically. It is good to wind and use an antique pocket watch maybe once a month or so.

Chris Ross Truly wonderful. If you visit my website, there are links to my eBay Store where you can see everything I have for sale and also see what has sold and for what price. Kind regards, Troy Duncan.
Very difficult to find such watchmakers. What makes a watch like this complicated beyond what even a master watchmaker can repair is the musical aspect. Most watchmakers do not know much about music boxes, how to craft a new musical tooth (which includes tuning).
😁 10k。18k。or 24k also gold。only depant how many gold only。right😂 🙌 if pocket watch use 24k gold。very very soft。 i have many 10k pocket watch。 but now no many people know colletion antique pocket watch ady😥.only know buy new watch。i very very like antique watch and toy too😅😂 dinky and corgi matcbox😍😍😘😘 hehee.....
There are gongs that surround the movement with small triangular hammers, movement’s basically the same as a clock that has a grand sonnerie feature, though it’s in a completely different arrangement
*Stop saying it's SOLID GOLD !* 18 Karat is NOT solid Gold *it's roughly 75 % Pure Gold and the rest being a mixture of Copper and Zinc to give the case better wearing strength.*
You should really not try so hard to be an ass. It is standard industry practice to state that an item is "solid gold" and list the karat (or purity content). I have never seen a watch crafted of 24 karat gold as it is too soft and would wear rather quickly. In short, you are stating the obvious as everyone understands the karat system and what it means. Using the term "solid gold" simply implies that the piece is not plated with 24k gold, etc. ON a side note, you should cut your hair as the long strands are really not hiding your balding problem but maybe grow a goutee to hide your double chin. @@troyduncan1969 Thank you for the personal fashion advice ;) I will take it under consideration. You obviously didn't read my note properly. I already stated 18 Karat is 75 % Pure Gold with a mixture of Copper and Zinc so it will "wear" better i.e. *It will not be so soft as Pure 24 Karat Solid Gold would obviously be.* I think your use of the term "Solid Gold" is somewhat *disingenuous.* It is *NOT* as you say, standard industry practice to state something is Solid Gold when it is not, thus the term 18 Karat, 14 Karat, 10 Karat. Personal attacks demonstrate you don't have any real argument here, and you're an arrogant son of a bitch !
@@markjob6354 OH my gosh - I just watched a newer video of yours and it looks like you gained 50 pounds from your profile photo - grow a goatee my friend. Here is the deal, I retired ten years ago at the tender age of 41 and I was an executive and full equity partner with one of the largest consulting firms in the world. My wife (still on marriage number one mind you) who was always a stay at home mom told me that I needed something to so so I turned my hobby into an enjoyable early retirement activity. @ This is not so in the rest of the world, or the other Western Countries. Historically, the term "Solid Gold," always referred to the understanding of "Pure Gold," thus 24 Karat Gold referred to .999 Fine Gold as it exists in solid gold bars. Gold mixed with Copper or Zinc is considered to be a "Gold Alloy," containing a specific gold content measured in Karats by most Jewelers. 10K = 50% Gold. 14k= 60 % Gold. 18K = 75 % Gold. 22K= 90% Gold. 24K=100% Solid Gold, or pure gold in solid.

Simply amazing, thanks for sharing
Traumhafte Uhr und absolut perfekt.
Thank you Hanspeter. Kind regards, Troy.
Beautiful!
Such a beautiful timepiece.
I agree. The watchmakers back then were true masters. I sold this one but I have another in my personal collection that has a gold dial.

And what makes the chime sound? What makes that deep sound if it's so small? But its beautiful though!

Hi, who are some of the best watchmakers in the Europe and US to service such complicated mechanisms?
Very difficult to find such watchmakers. What makes a watch like this complicated beyond what even a master watchmaker can repair is the musical aspect. Most watchmakers do not know much about music boxes, how to craft a new musical tooth (which includes tuning).

Wow nice
How much is the real price?
How can it chime if it is so small?
There are actually smaller pieces with even more complications - it is simply a function of an extremely talented and high quality craftsman.
There are gongs that surround the movement with small triangular hammers, movement’s basically the same as a clock that has a grand sonnerie feature, though it’s in a completely different arrangement
Can I know what is the meaning of 10ct? Is that gold?
10ct means 10 carat gold. 10 out of 24 where 24 is 100% pure gold.
tq😘😘😘😘😘
hi.i have 2pcs same model half hunter。but my no ring ring🚑。i buy 2pcs $1400is good price??? good condition
If you purchased a true grand sonnerie, that is a very good price. I sold this one for around $10,000.
Thanks bro.🙏
How much current price?
I sold this over four years ago. CZcams videos always have time stamps so you can see how old a video is.
