You should add the iron first prior to the urea, reason being is that when the urea is added to the water the reaction lowers the water temperature, and like you said, higher temp water will allow the iron to disolve better. I just added 3.5 lbs of 46% urea to 1 gallon of water. Water temperature went from 92 degrees to 50 degrees. If you ever played sports as a kid and was injured, the instant cold packs that are used are made of urea and water. Great video! Thanks 😃
Super Tech brand Diesel Exhaust Fluid from Walmart is $10 for 2.5 gallons. That stuff is just water and urea with an analysis of 15-0-0. I have yet to find liquid chelated iron from a big box store but you can get granulated ironite.

I wet down the driveway and sidewalk edges a couple of feet from the grass edges right before I start spaying the liquids...helps if you go over the edge during application. That way it hoses off easier and leaves less of a mess.
If you use the granule iron with a spreader, the iron will last longer. I spread it four times a year and to keep that grass greener longer, you have to cut it higher. The lower you cut, less green color and won't last as long, I'm in Southwest Florida.
For real, I spend hours every day keeping my lawn nice and low, and green, neighbors on both sides have nutsedge and crab grass and 4 inch tall Bermuda and it drives me up a wall
Idea for a video: What if you tested in a small area and did almost everything "wrong" when spring seeding? - Plant now instead of earlier in the spring - Don't pre-germinate - Use KBG instead of rye of fescue - Don't work seed into the soil or apply a top dressing - Don't use any preemergents or starter fertilizer Basically just lay the seed down and keep up with watering and that's it. Maybe even compare to another path where everything was done right. Then compare in early summer to see how they are both doing.

You might want to try placing a piece of cardboard about 12” x 12”’or any other shape for that matter, on the lawn to see a clear 360 degree comparison of the look you get with or without the treatment. Yes, after mowing would be best. You can spray this cocktail once every 4 weeks if using pgr. If not, every 2 will be fine. After 4 hours of sitting on the leaf blade you can wash it off. Thanks for watching!
I was thinking of mixing 3 liquids together, 2 ounces of DEF, 2 ounces of Magnesium Sulfate, and 2 ounces of Chelated Iron per gallon of water. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated on amounts and combinations I plan on using. Maybe adding a Surfactant and Green Dye to this too.

I refer you to a published study done by Michigan State on iron for turf management. I suggest you read the 10 page pdf before you continue to push iron on the typical residential lawn. Iron became an issue when regulators began limiting random dumping of high nitrogen fertilizers and golf course managers were trying to figure out how to green up grass growing on crappy sandy soil lacking in micronutrients. Iron truly only works in a very specific set of cultural conditions and is not readily absorbed by grass unless it is in a specific ionic state and with a specific pH. Even if you hit that mark the green up is short lived and temporary. Most likely your green up is due to highly soluble nitrogen salts. The bottom line is there is absolutely no reason to push your lawn with iron unless you are rocking a putting green and dumping iron on your soil could lead to iron toxicity in time since iron is very very immobile in the soil. If you do a soil test I’m willing to bet that iron is not lacking so why add an over abundance? Regulators have already banned phosphorus fertilizers in many states around the Chesapeake bay. Florida has enacted similar fertilizer bans. Continued spread of misinformation hurts everyone. Most homeowners have no clue what they are doing and buy whatever Joe Tattoo at Home Depot can fit in the car. I for one do not want to see people dumping tons of ironite around me because you say it “greens” the lawn or whatever. Having a decent lawn is tough enough without the need for more confusion

I've used everything known to man,Scott's Max,Ironite, I guess I haven't tried your way,but the darkest my grass ever got was when I used Scott's Natural lawn food.Was totally not what I was after,just got a deal at 4.50 a bag and so I bought all they had.I put it down and two weeks later it was the darkest of green I'd ever seen it.Havent used it since the last bag was gone,for some reason it's hard to find around here and my goal at the moment isn't the color.Like I said it was just dumb luck ,but it was so dark I figured it was worth mentioning.

I have been using ammonium sulfate, Iron and trinexepac ethyl for 2 years now.The dark green result is absolutely real. Btw, chelate is pronounced "kee-late" not "chee-late" Also, if you have the time, apply iron weekly. My front lawn is only 1,500 sq ft so I apply iron weekly at a lower rate. It keeps the color much better even when cutting under 1".

After watching this video, I bought some chelated iron, from Southern AG. I’m not sure but I have applied it twice and see very if any results. I even tried doubling the amount and still no results. Any advice? Did you water it in ? If so how long did you wait to water it
So, with these ratios, you spread 3 1/2 gallons liquid over 1,000 sq. feet. That's a lot of water to apply in 2,000/ I have a Chapman backpack sprayer and only ever used it for Prodiamine pre emergent. Can you confirm? THUMBS UP!!!
I have the same chapin motorized sprayer, love it. Sounds like you calculated 1000 Sq ft per gallon on yours. I've done many tests with mine and mine covers 500 Sq ft per gallon. Did you put a different spray head on yours?
Hello There! I have always used straight iron and just a general fertilizer once a week with plenty of water and have had good luck but i want to do better :-). I add a pinch of citric acid to my water to lower the PH a bit. This helps the plant absorb. I only do this when I'm greening up.

Yeah it’s such a balance. Long grass can hold its color although it’s terrible to walk on. Better to sacrifice a little color with short cut grass.

Sprenkle yard/lawn with coffee grounds once a year. Turns dirt green.

Using rust converter will help rust stains. I use it regularly.

Thx for the video. I spread urea granules on my lawn and it turned totally yellow. Do you know a fix for that. Should I shampoo it with baby shampoo to get rid of the urea! It’s cold and raining.

After watching this video, I bought some chelated iron, from Southern AG. I’m not sure but I have applied it twice and see very if any results. I even tried doubling the amount and still no results. Any advice? Did you water it in ? If so how long did you wait to water it
So, with these ratios, you spread 3 1/2 gallons liquid over 1,000 sq. feet. That's a lot of water to apply in 2,000/ I have a Chapman backpack sprayer and only ever used it for Prodiamine pre emergent. Can you confirm? THUMBS UP!!!
No, sorry if that was confusing. I'm using 3.5 gallons of water on 3,500 sq ft. so.... 1 gal = 1000 sq ft.

I have the same chapin motorized sprayer, love it. Sounds like you calculated 1000 Sq ft per gallon on yours. I've done many tests with mine and mine covers 500 Sq ft per gallon. Did you put a different spray head on yours?
Hello There! I have always used straight iron and just a general fertilizer once a week with plenty of water and have had good luck but i want to do better :-). I only have around 800 sq ft or so…… based off of 1000 sq ft what would I use for my sprayer as the mixture? I live in Oregon. Thanks for any help.
