Oh wow, those are lovely Machins! It's one of my favorite designs certainly, I love the original higher value set from the pre decimal time, there's something appealing to me thinking about the old coinage names. I assume the design will be used until the next Monarch ascends.

Hi Tim, the Machin design has got to be one of the most used design in the world. I like them but there are like over 500 variations to collect, I just cherry pick my favourites. I've read somewhere that Prince Charles sits every 5 years in preparation for the change of designs on the stamps, coins and banknotes. I wonder if currency will still a thing when Prince George ascends to the throne in years to come.

@@coinsstampsandcollectibles3552 It's an interesting thing to think about, how with the tech age we're supposedly moving to more digital currency. You can already see this, most people just use plastic cards for their transactions and coins and banknotes are less common. I wonder if they'll continue the Machin series but just with Prince Charles, that'd seem reasonable. I believe Canada had news of going all digital by either 2030 or 50? I don't like the idea myself, as annoying as carrying bills and coins can be, digital can be wiped away so quickly by human error! And there's considerably less enjoyment collecting if everything's online, not physical. Keep up the great work.
