Sam - will you be building more cabinets for the new shop ? I would love to see another video of a shop cabinets build ! I have watched several different ones but, they are to complicated for me to do myself. I really like the way you toned it down to my level. Thank you & good luck w/ the new laser biz !

I really liked the simplicity of the project! I'm always looking for inexpensive projects and builds that are simple enough for a beginner like me. With today's costs, even the inexpensive ends up being pricey by the time a project is completed. I'm like you in that I like to use materials I already have when possible.

Try spring clamps for quick clamping of thinner material stacks, they're cheap cheap cheap, versatile & remarkably fast. U coulda clamped the 2nd carcass to the 1st (2 or 3 spring clamps), your spacer block to carcass, etc. It'll change ur clamping lifestyle vs always reaching for F clamps.

Bigger is better so don't worry, well done with the project. Liked it heeps, will make mine similar in my "Car Port". I've got NO SHED. So I made an extension shed at the back of my carport, being W12'x D4', yeah, I'm in Australia but still work in feet and inches when it suits me, then other times it's so much quicker and simpler in Meters x Millimeters, it's more exact with out saying a LONNNG measurement like 12' 1/3"'s long, silly measurements. Anyways, whatever works in your shop you use it, YOUR way. Now I've got the back shed made, it's got a side door and front, but the front door has a 900mm small door plus a larger door of 2.7m making up the rest of the measurement of the width of my carport. Next I'll be putting a wall between me and next door neighbor, then I can put this wall cabinet up and a Tool cabinet being 2400x1200mm sitting on top of my bench, with a further cabinet with 2 doors to hold my tools that don't have boxes for them inside here. So, with your setup, it's going to be great once finished. BLOODY RIPPA MATE. Take care buddy and thanks heaps for your input.

Thanks Sam. My husband Andy I are building shelves in the basement and are trying to avoid the mortising the butt hinges. The piano hinge looked like a great idea but we'll have to do a lot of adjustments because we've used 2x4's as a frame and they are not flush. The vertical supports are further out than the horizontal ones. It was the simplest method to make them. White boards look a lot nicer than plywood and probably lighter. ✔️👍

I like your style, plus the fact that you have a R4512 I pimped mine with an Incra TS LS Joinery System. I noticed something I bet very picked up on! How you held the brad nail gun perpendicular to the part you were driving the brad into! This does help in keeping blowouts from happening (brads exiting the side of the work)
The piano hinge trick is pretty neat! For door clasp In the future I suggest neodymium magnets! Order on line they are much cheaper and the 54 series are stronger magnets. The cabinets look nice!

Love it Sam! Want some free hardware? I stop any time I see someone tossing out furniture, and toss it in the back of the truck. I take it home, remove all the pulls, hinges, closers, slides, glides, screws etc and toss them into a clear Ziploc bag. If the piece is real wood I'll break it down, if not, it gets dropped at the dump on my next visit. You would be amazed how fast the hardware adds up! So if you want some pulls let me know. The cabinets sitting off of the left wall is screaming for some stacked shelves to fill the gap now....
