Sideswipe feels less like a "mobile rocket league-like" and more like a rocket league 2, gameplay wise. It keeps an incredible focus on mechanics while simplifying everything enough to where it's easy to pick up and play. It's still difficult and mechanically challenging, but in a different way than the original RL (especially with purple and gold shots). Plus the feedback for these mechanics is incredible, from the little shine and sound effect when you get your flip back from a reset, to all these different colors signifying what kind of shot. Hats off to the sideswipe team for pulling this off so well.

One correction, the purple shot is stronger when closer to the ball.
be as close as possible to the ball and have your whole body of the car on it and press boosted jump

There is one trick with the golden shot which makes it really useful. While the ball is in the air, go right under where it will land, and face the direction where you want to shoot with your back. Pull down the stick, and double jump when the ball lands. You can literally kick the ball trought the entire map, or give your teammate a high pass. One of my favourite things to do, especially im hoops, you get a perfect angle sometimes. Amazing video btw, I was looking for one of these for a while.

You can straight up just drive on the roof forever, even back and forth even better timing.
Also wave dashing by having your front wheels hit the ground first

Amazing video, at first I had no idea how to jumpshot and now I’m doing it relatively consistent. Now I just gotta learn how to do it in any situation where I want to.

Power shot: Usefull for attacks
Purple shot: Defensive shot to back on the ground
Gold shot: Back-up shot to go fast on walls/defense goal

@@Mogzrl ye bro been having trouble setting my shots up soo my skills can't be taken to the next level since i can't set myself up and pull of all those stunts
are you using the fast aerial button (boosted jump button) ?? its insanely useful for setting yourself up for air dribs etc

You can do the No-Flip in Rocket League aswell, although maybe not as powerull as in sideswipe. Also, No-Flip is another mechanic in Rocket League where you cancel your flip, so using the same name for a completely different mechanic would be confusing for people who plays both games
The no - flip made me do a crazy musty and double tap with low boost that made me score the winning goal in over time.

The gold shot is definitely has the most potential to be flashy in my opinion. The purple and gold do look insanely cool to pull off a goal with though.
I started to play yesterday and the normal rocketleague was pretty nice but I sucked so much. I now realized that I'm doing gold shots on accident so often in hoops due to defending them with my rear end. Thanks for the info and the video was pretty dope 😂
rocket league in the beginning is very difficult
2:30 it is very useful at high ranks cause it help to go back defending faster when u made a defensive or offensive powershot
What settings are needed?
@@jamescaswell5057 hit the ball perpendicular to ur car but with the back of ur car with a dash
People seriously underestimate just spinning to hit the ball. You can still pull off some legit powerful shots. Also since people don't really know about it, you can flip and then dribble and they will think you cant shoot, but you can!

The gold shot is really useful to trick players. I’ve scored most of the time with it on hoops, haven’t specifically been useful on anything else to me.

The purple shot is also really good if you are with the ball but out of boost because you can use that to get it away from your goal and you will land and be able to get more boost

My favourite is the gold shot and i almsot mastered it for situations where every second counts because it's a very fast shot
Little but more on the purple jump, see that ring your car makes when you jump? That is the minimal distance for the purple job to work.

My favorite thing to do to do with the purple shot is to toss the ball right over the defenders so that its a easy goal for my teammate or its strong enough to be a goal. Its also pretty good for faking out and doing a 50/50 midair.

I’ll try to send you a clip of a mechanic that makes gold shot useful. If u jump and then immediately jump with your movement stick down while the ball is towards the back of your car (terrible dribble option). If you time it rigjt (jumping a little before you catch the ball when it’s high) it gives u a great vertical clear or dime for your team mate even in akward positions and you don’t even need to flip your car if ur not as it will just bounce it off the wall to a great shooting pos on the other net
Gold shot is my favourite way of scoring and it feels epic when u hit it

I just found a trick that uses the gold shot. If you get under the ball but the car is on the ground you need do pull the joystick down and double press jump so you quikly jump up and down but the ball shoots in the air
I just found it so idk how to use it but it has potential
The best purple is when you are sticking to the ball, and the power is the same as the gold on the video(maybe better )

Yea but the Golden is still harder I have tested but the gold shot is really hard and I sometimes make a purple instead before I learnt to make golden ones. Haven’t successfully made a mid air golden shot just kickoffs and other things tho

Best time IMO to use the gold is under the opponent's net. Wave dash (dash into the ground) while leaving their goal. Holding the joycon downwards and quickly double jump, you'll catch them off guard everytime. You can also pop the ball up for a pass (while dribbling) with the same technique. You just need the ball on the butt of your car.
Succeeded to make a goal in training where I jumped out from a goal, hit a golden shot like from above the ball which gave it backspin and it flew into the same goal I jumped out from. I think u can with that score from behind the ball when u fly into the opponents goal

I use merc car i feel like it has more power ijust boost onto the ball with my front in hoops and face straight down and push the ball into the hoop
I feel like the gold shot is especially good for chucking the ball to the other side of the field when you're being pushed back, it usually pops the ball high so you can easily juke your opponent/s
It's a great way of putting pressure on your opponent/s if you hit it right
I still dont know how to consistently do gold shots

It’s very easy to hit gold shots if you turn away from the ball and quickly flip inte the ball. You seem to just flip away from the ball, turn that flip around!:)

I spent today just practicing purple shot and I have mastered it now😁😁
(One tip from me: Never use the unlimited boost feature in freeplay if you're practicing something coz in a real match it would be a different scenario so don't use unlimited boost if want to master a specific thing)
