Flavel's collected Works are a treasure. Pastors and theological students: though many volumes today carry the claim of being "must-read," very few actually are. Flavel is the rare exception. Take up and read, for the good of your soul and the glory of God in your people's souls.
John Flavel is one of the Puritans I dream of reading completely. Hearing from Reformed pastors and theologians about Flavelʼs piety and Scriptural fidelity makes me want to learn deeply about his faith next to the Word of God. At the moment I don’t believe so, at least not from the reputable publishing companies like banner of truth. Which is interesting, he’s my favorite puritan by far at the moment. His body of practical divinity is a treasure, they should really release it as 3 volumes in 1.

I'm working through Calvin's Institutes and many of the John Owen works. Maybe one day I will get Flavel.
