Numbness of the hands is a very common problem that patients have.
Numbness of the hands may be due to number of causes. The 10 main causes of numbness in hands are as follows
1) Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Cubital tunnel Syndrome
2) Vitamain B12 Cyanocobalamin Deficiency
3) Diabetes and Hypothyroidism
4) Prolapsed Cervical Disc
5) Cervical Spondylosis
6) Medications
7) Raynauds Phenomenon
8) Alchohol
9) Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
10) Herpetic Infection

In This video we have described about not only the causes of Neck pain but also the investigations to be done and treatment for each and every problem.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the most common treatable cause of Numbness in the hand. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is due to compression of median nerve due to transverse carpal ligament. A very simple treatment of this is to do a Carpal Tunnel release Surgery.
Vitamin B12 is a nerve tonic. It is a water soluble vitamin which is present more in animal food sources. Its scientific name is cyanocobalamin. It improves nerve conduction and gives nutrition to the nerves. Deficiency of the same can lead to a Neuropathy. This problem is more seen in vegetarian population specifically Vegans ( Those who don't even take milk products)
