Actually, in OxygenOS 11 you can turn on true AOD in Settings. Display > Ambient Display > Always-on ambient display And yes, in 2023, as enjoyer of one of this phones, I can truly confirm that it's an absolute masterpiece)
Watching this on my 6t, still running strong! It has it's issues but it has spoiled other phones for me. It still has the OG Oxygen OS and am afraid to switch to other phones. I have exchanged the battery 2 times and am happy I have done that!! Soo close to being perfect.
Love my Oneplus 6T. Only issue is that lately i've been experiencing the camera black screen issue. Restarting the phone fixes the problem for a while... but then it returns :(
Still use my OP6T everyday, the only issue I encountered was bad battery life as I bought it second hand. A new iFixit battery solved my problems, the phone does everything I need it to, I can't complain.
What a monster of a phone it was. 4 years ago i switched from my htc one m7 to oneplus 6t and now i switched to iphone 14 pro. I still keep this phone around as my secondary phone and everything except camera is still decent.
Excellent review and perspective, the OnePlus 6T is proof that depending on your personal needs and usage, you do not really need the latest and greatest mobile phone. I have a OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and I very happy with its performance. You are absolutely correct the greatest downfall of any mobile phone as it ages is battery life.
Watched this on my OnePlus 6T. Only problem with the phone is that the battery life is pathetic when used on mobile data. Also, the gallery app has become buggy after Android 11 update and also, RAM management has also degraded. Even after gaving 8 GB of RAM today, this phone boots out apps out of memory too soon.
Would you say this is good for gaming? I've watched footage of COD Mobile at max graphics and smooth. It's due to arrive tommorow so hopefully I can test it...
i still have it. works for me. It lags a bit sometimes because the storage is nearly full but sill fully useable. Truly one of my best purchases to date!
mine is still serving...although i have replaced the display couple of times...just ordered one plus 11 because i cant run my office profile on my 6T anymore because of no security patches .....i am going to keep 6T as well...
I still have my 6T ever since it appeared on the market. It does everything it needs to except the fingerprint sensor doesn't work anymore. (Fingerprint sensor only worked several times lol)
Literally just got a 6t after having a 5t for ages. Only upgraded as my wifi couldn't connect at home, yeah well after getting the 6t I reset the 5t and fixed, I prefer the feel of the 5t
i must say , amazing phones still even my 5t - 6gb ram was insane back then. best cameras I've ever used too...I still don't understand why ppl buy apple and Samsung, you only pay for the name these days..blackview, Xiaomi, Huawei, google, oppo, OnePlus... I've owned them all and much more enjoyable to use.
Mine is 7 years old had to empty storage but still works great! Might try to get newer samsung a55 or redmin pro note13 not sure yet since the phone is still working fine.
Good video I would add that I bought it as I heard it works better than others when using the hot spot and it did but now I don't need it so much but all in all its been a great phone, I have replaced the battery and it's not as good as the official/original battery. But I'm not outside much do I velcro a battery pack to the back if I am out all day. But for the price I think it's unbeatable. Currently considering replacing it but not sure what with.
I have been using this phone since it launched in 2018 and I gotta say, its been a great journey. However due to the battery I'm gonna swap it for the new OnePlus 12. The only real downside is the lack of security patches, but thats about it. Especially the IP Rating is overrated... like how often ur phone goes swimming?

This phone is a beast. I had my OP6 since 2018. It is running Lineage OS 20 with android 13. I have a S22+ now but gave this away to family bet it is still gonna be good for a couple year of use.
So my dad bought the one plus 6t in 2018 i think and he used it for 2 years and then gave it to me Here are some things i live and some things that has Been happened to the phone while using it for long Pros -good screen - battery is quite good -the slider that cam be used to set phone to vibrate Cons from over the years -burnt picture icons to screen (tiktok home screen and the battery icons and clock) -camera is broken kinda (multiple times a day camera wont work shows an error and same for the flash -touch is begining to not work sometimes -battery when low is to 1 precent reallly fast -the notif slider wont lock on the middle option. To be expered for having the phone so long So yeah fun memories with this phone but now time for a one plus nord 3 5g 🎉
My mobile is OnePlus 6T it's strong since I bought it I didn't use a sticker for the screen, it didn't got broke , and still fast but there's a few lagging comes i think because the software is not updated, the only problem i face is the battery
correction. Lineage os has no security patch but you can get them manually by getting the full pixel gapps on it, for other roms no (atleast the ones I've tried, pixel experiecne is outdated, ricedroid is I belive 2 months outdated)
Osmo pocket? Oh yeah, the downside of Osmo Pocket is, the non removable battery. See I do CZcams videos and the cameras I have should last a long time coz if you love the way your video looks, then you wanna keep it for a long time. Check with DJI if they support battery replacement.

I wanted to add another comment after downgrading my OnePlus 6 to oxygen OS 10. I don't know where OnePlus went wrong or if it's Google who's to blame but I noticed the picture quality is much better on oxygen OS 10... Less oversaturation on web pages especially, fonts are much cleaner and easier to read because of the pristine white balance and obviously the phone is much faster because it also wiped storage... I feel like some of the speed increase is also because it's on software that was made during this phone's Hay day... I get the feeling as time goes on the software becomes less optimized for older devices... I had to share this post because I just wasn't feeling the oneplus 6 every since I got my OnePlus 8 pro and I thought maybe my eye just had more of a liking for the 8 pro. As it turns out it was just on some trash software lol. You can tell OnePlus really cared about the customer back in the day but now they just throw some trash software together and call it an update. Obviously the OnePlus 6 can't compete with the 8 pro even with Superior display calibration but the display calibration makes up for the resolution shortcomings so much that some content I feel looks far superior on the 6 than it does on the 8 pro... By the way you're not stuck on oxygen OS 11 in case that part was missed in my comment. You can search CZcams for a video that has a direct link to the downgrade package for the OnePlus 6. Even on my OnePlus 8 pro which removed the ability to update via local storage still allows you to install an app so that you can update or downgrade via local storage...
OnePlus 6 on Android 10 and there's nothing you need to worry 😌. Thats the last true OnePlus update and I still don't see any need to get a new phone though os is old
@@nirmalkumar7941 upon further review I'm actually going to say the OnePlus 6 is best served running on oxygen OS 9.0.9. they made some kind of next level battery optimization in this ROM. I think there was a battery drain bug in oxygen OS 9.0.8 so I feel like 9.0.9 is the best ROM because this update was written specifically to address battery drain issues. Not saying battery drain is much of an issue in oxygen OS 10 because the battery life is actually pretty good but this is some next level voodoo magic I'm experiencing on a 5 year old phone right now...
The only thing that i can complain about after 5 years ..... Only recently the battery life is deteriorated and I can barely get 5 hours of usage..... About a year ago I would easily get through the day ... Now I am rocking a power bank 😁
I got it free 3 days ago because my friend didn't like it cos cracked battery cover lol ... Now I'm gonna custom transparent battery cover .. love the phone cos it's slim n 8gb ram is good enough

Oneplus 6T is indeed legendary. I'm a programmer and I really couldn't find a phone like oneplus 6T even today. The camera is better than the camera of a Samsung phone that I bought in 2020. And in technical aspects, it's the best phone to root and use as they provide the official stock firmware online for all editions of the oneplus 6T. My oneplus 6T has been hard bricked around 8 times till now and I was still able to recover it without any damage to the hardware. It works as fast as a new phone even after messing with it that many times.
Not to mention that I was even able to get Dolby Atmos working in it . But I had to reset the phone due to some reasons and now I am not able to find the Dolby Atmos app that I installed before
Yeah, I’m about to go sell my 14 pro max cause it’s useless besides social media and the camera that I never use. My one plus 6 runs android 13 lineage OS and Gpay works so I’m GOOD
Apple is so lame they have the same phones throughout history and they make the same repetitive stuff over and over again only iPhone 4s,5s,6s,7 pro really stood out and then the Android has players throughout history like OnePlus 6t,7 pro etc etc
I don't think the OnePlus 6 is a good value in 2023 even if it's still a good phone in 2023. Mainly because resellers jack up the price and triple charge you just because it's a decent phone...
It's really not worth it to buy it at more than 100 bucks today. It was a fantastic phone for its time, even till like 2021 it was pretty good,but in 2023? heck no. Increase your budget a bit to like 300 bucks and get a phone which delivers thrice the battery life and twice the performance.
Correction: It has always on display. There's a setting to use it "all day". 😉

It's been 5.5 years and it is still a beast. Battery health is 77%, I can't decide what to buy after this and I'm praying for it not to break.

Just bought mine for 82$ it has 128gb of memory and the ram is 6gb. It came with a warp charger.

Oneplus is my favorite smartphone brand. At moment my daily Phone is iPhone 12 64gb. Future i go Back to oneplus.

Still worth it in 2024 - Just updated mine with LineageOS 21 (Android 14). An excellent phone and a steal at today's prices - at least with LOS.
The lack of SD card support is why I've never bought a OnePlus phone. In my opinion the best used phone is a LG G8 or v40.

My daughter is using my 6. But i moved on to s21 ultra. The camera is everything
S21 Ultra will have better camera performance, undoubtedly! ❤️
