Indeed, Tina! I think that’s why this resort is so beloved with many veterans… they get to experience almost luxurious accommodations at the fraction of the price on WDW property. Even with surrounding hotels and their veteran discounts, they just don’t compare!

I went here the first 3 times we went to Disney! We will be there in either october or december this year! It's such a nice resort my mother served in the army!
Awesome! Thank your mother for her service!! If you can go in December, you will really get to enjoy the Christmas/holiday season in the parks at a fraction of the price. Any other Disney resort during that time is just super expensive. Thanks for watching!
This was a very nice informative video of The Shades of Green. Looks very relaxing and the grounds are very serene and beautiful. The only way I would get a glimpse of here is to be someone’s guest or go golfing. Thank You for Your Service. Least favorite part of making E-7 is that the rates went up! Great video! We booked for the week after St Patrick’s Day next year!

DoD Civilians who work for the Armed Forces can also stay here. Rates are a little more expensive than active military but still way cheaper than other Disney resorts of this caliber.

Once again a complete and satisfying video that covers everything you want to see. Thank you for serving btw. I had the privilege of staying there before it was changed. We loved it, just a great atmosphere and I am a golfer. I honestly don't recall the fountain area, wondering if that was added later. Reminds me of the sweet yesteryear and betteryear of WDW. Don't recall a buffet either, churros? Oh man. Thats my kind of pool, just a nice kept big pool, nothing too crazy. Amazing place and video dude.
It was my pleasure to show this to you, Dean! I appreciate that! I’ll admit that I still enjoyed the resort before it’s massive renovation, just for its quiet location and atmosphere. I’ve never been a golfer, but I can appreciate the beautiful scenery and ambience around the courses. The fountain might have been a recent addition, because I don’t remember that either. Good observation: I think it still has the quality of the yesteryear of WDW! Again, thank you for the kind words my brotha!

I was a lot of times. The first time i went there for my vacay with my fam because i made a bet with my grandpa. He said if i lost one hundred pounds i get 100 dollars. I used it to buy some toys. The second time i was there was i graduated from high school. the third my sister graduated from high school and my dad retired from the navy.

Thank you for the informative video. I would like to add a couple points. The walkway to the Poly is closed now which is a bummer and also to let people know that Gold Star surviving spouse receive 50% off rate of room for rank of deceased Military member.

Great review. Always wondered about this place. Could have use a flushed toilet however.
Believe it or not, the toilet was flushed! Basically, the bottom of the toilet had a large drain hole with some rust on it. I definitely would’ve made sure there was nothing else in it when I filmed. 😎🤙

Gonna start the year at Hale Koa in February, Shades of Green in June (on our actual Anniversary) and Hopefully Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in October. A year of Celebration:) Are you Military? Great video Dave does this hotel have elevators to get to the rooms?
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, there are elevators on both wings of the hotel. You will find the elevators at the beginning section of those wings after leaving the main lobby and restaurant areas.
Maybe I missed it, was there a mini fridge in the room?
Yes, they have it usually inside the TV stand/drawers. Ours was a little beat up, so keep in mind that some of them maybe a little old.
Good prices but rooms look dated. Are all the standard rooms like this?
Yes, pretty much all of the standard rooms are like the one we stayed in. Because this hotel is run by the Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC), room updates are not as frequent.
Hello, I’m a 4 year Navy vet with honorable and service connected disability. Would I be eligible with my family to stay here for a 5-6 day vacation? Thanks!
Hey there! Thank you for your service! I’m not sure how the disability system works, but if you were honorably discharged, you would be eligible to stay there for whatever time you wanted (if available) on the months of January and September. All of the other months are reserved for active duty and retirees only. Since you are on disability connected with your service, that could be a different situation. I would call them and ask for that specific issue. I hope you’re able to get it for whatever month you want!
Need your help. I’ve always wanted to stay here but so scared that the hotel is not good. Went to eat breakfast here and I didn’t like it at all. Would you stay here again?
Hmmm...what was it about the breakfast that you did not like? I know that there has been a lot of employee turnover throughout the whole WDW resort, so it could be that there were undertrained people at the restaurant. Considering that the room rates are astronomically better than the other Magic Kingdom hotels, and it has all the amenities of any other Disney Deluxe hotel, I would definitely stay here again. Just keep in mind that is not managed by Disney Resorts, so keep your expectations a little lower.
Has a fridge but no microwave?
That seems to be the case, at least for our room. The fridge is large enough to store mostly water bottles and sandwiches with a tiny freezer to keep ice packs for coolers.
How much is the breakfast buffet for adults?
Great questions!! The breakfast buffet is $17.50 for adults.

Yes, you will have to provide your own streaming device. The Wi-Fi service is a little spotty, so you may want to use your cell phone as a hotspot.

Is it a k-cup coffee maker?
Just saw this question…the coffee maker has its own special coffee filter inserts with coffee inside. The packets are right beside the maker. No K-cup, unfortunately!
Awe....I'm just going to take my own keurig coffee maker...lol
