    I’ve used Alesis effects processors for decades, and have always loved how musical the earlier models were. The MIDIVerb 4s allow me to greatly extend the effects of my Tascam hardware multitrack recorders and are simple and easy to use. Best of all they sound very good doing it. I wanted to share this information with anyone on a budget who’s looking to augment their digital multi-track hardware recording setup. I hope this presentation serves useful.

    I still have my Alesis!! It’s a legendary piece of early Mid Futuristic equipment that stands the test of time that does not age!!. It was ahead of its time in technology and competes with the new tech today that does not lose!!

    Wow, this vid is a great intro to the actual usage of this unit! I’m looking at buying one of these, and this video really helped by showing me exactly how to navigate through it and why it’s functional features are good (I already trust the effects and all inside, but on these units, the capabilities in a real setup are always so hard to learn about): I wish more product reviews were like this!

    I used to play a Alesia quadraverb back in the 90”s but I just ordered one of these off reverb to add some fun flair to my home recording rack … good video

    Good clear explanation. I'm excited to dig deeper into controlling (the one I picked up) via midi in realtime (CC control of parameters).
    On thing that I didn't appreciate is the the selection/sequence of the effects are fixed into pre-defined 'algorythms'. You can not randomly/manually select which are used/routed.

    love the video, even an old bloke like me can understand the way you have talk us through the hardware. I do have a question. I have had my midiverb for many years and use it solely for live stage for myself as a solo artist. I was wondering what would be your suggestion for the best effect setting for country and rock n roll music vocals. i also do a lot of Johnny Cash and balad type music. My hearing isn't the best so just looking for some suggestions please

    • @PowercoatMusic
      @PowercoatMusic  Před 2 lety +1

      Well, I would keep it simple with just some reverb and delay with that type of music. Country and Blues were never that complicated when it came to effects. Remember, 3 chords and the Truth, right? Thanks for watching. 👍🏿

    Great video! I too have the Midiverb 4 which I got in 1997. I just ordered a Tascam DP 24SD recorder Workstation and want to use the Alesis with it, but the Tadcam does not have the midi ports. Do you have a video on how to use the two together?

    Bought mine with a flimsy rotary encoder for the equivalent of 30 bucks early in 2020. Once I got that fixed it has been serving me pretty well... Since then I proceeded to add other processors, such as the effectron delays and a mxr flanger. Thinking of getting me a 2nd MV4, or a microverb 3 plus the digitech vocalist you reviewed. What reeeeeeeeeally bothers me is the wall-wart power supply tho...

    buenos días amigo quisiera que me ayudes como conectar ecualizador + compresor a mixer y tengo interface presonus audio box 1818vsl, pero mi consola no tiene insert en el main y por eso no se como hacer esa conexión gracias de antemano

    • @PowercoatMusic
      @PowercoatMusic  Před rokem

      Hay un par de formas en que puedes hacerlo. Puede conectar las unidades en cadena desde un solo canal y volver a conectarlas a la consola. Asegúrese de tener el compresor como la última unidad de la cadena. Si desea afectar toda la mezcla, use las salidas principales del mezclador en el ecualizador y luego el compresor, hasta su unidad de mezcla de 2 pistas. Espero que esto ayude y gracias por mirar.

      @PowercoatMusic  Před rokem

      No, that is not common with this unit. My suggestion is to break down your loop unit by unit to find where the extra noise is coming from. Also, try swapping out cords (using the best you can afford). If you find it's the 4, then I would suggest adjusting the effect parameters or it need be, have it serviced. Thanks for watching.

    • @PowercoatMusic
      @PowercoatMusic  Před 2 lety

      It all depends on the unit. If the device has inputs for effects, then yes. However, we know you can also use it in conjunction with a mixer and an audio interface. Thanks for watching. 👍🏿

    hey man, my m4 just boots up to a home screen that says ALESIS MIDIVERB 4, and it stays there. None of the prog or utility light buttons are illuminated. Worked fine yesterday when i fired it up, but now seems completely locked to the start screen i just mentioned. Thinking i hit a button but and altered it, but i have tried various combinations. Any guesses? Probably bounce to the manual from here. thanks for the vid.
