- Just for you Foresty Forest vanlife fans! Look who dropped by to install a roof fan in his van and also helped me with my MaxxAir MaxxFan Dome roof fan install on the stealthy NV200 camper van.

Forestry is a man of many talents! I mean, come on…a man that carries his own sewing machine and even knows how to use it!! That’s mighty IMPRESSIVE!! Lol
Thank you! And yes, what an inspiration!
Just scrolling and saw our Forsety Forest! Had to come and see what's going on.
Hey thank you! I've got even more FF content coming up in the future!
Wow! You guys are brave in cutting holes like that. I wouldn't have the guts! Nine degrees outside (even if it's in C) means you're also tough! Thanks for the video!
Thanks! And yes, the first hole is always the most nerve wracking. Haha. But once it was done then it was easier after that. I've since cut a window in the side door now. :)
Thanks for the video your install looks nice
Thank you! It fit really well and I didn’t have to cut any cross beams. I like the small footprint.
nice video work and install - thanks for the upload
Thanks so much and I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
i see a Foresty Forest in the title, I click! You sure took your time editing this one ;-)
You know it! Haha. I've got more coming, it just takes me a while to get them through the magic edit machine. ;)
Thanks, I've been thinking about installing one of those in my NV-200.
Hey, thank you! Go for it!! It's been working well for me. If you don't need the larger square one, this is a nice trade off in size.
Nice video!! Hope to see more in the future, hope you’re doing well!
Thanks! You too! I've got lot's more coming, it just takes me a while to edit them.
Nice vid! Like the 80’s synth music at the end. How many times did you hit your head on the bent down factory roof light? That kind of thing is like a magnet to my scalp! 👍🏻
Thanks so much! I bent that light right off and it just snapped away. Didn't even have to drill out the spot welds. Wish I filmed it.
So fun watching you guys put these fans and I love both of them. I camp in the Subaru outback so the smaller one would be probably better for my vehicle. 💜🦋💕 Great video and the money shot was perfect. Lol.
QQQ @geomiga vanlife. Was this fan one of the light also vans?
Could you ask for Forresty Forest what tripod he was using in this video?? It looked very sturdy but small.
This video is powered by..The good stuff..🤔..😂🤣
Good stuff all around!!
Nice work! Thanks for sharing. I wonder if the fan is rain proof like the other Maxxair models? I am debating whether to get a dome or a mini 🤔
You didn't skimp on that sealant did you :D
Oh no, not at all! Haha. I actually put more on after filming!! ;)
@@geomigavanlife I'm sealing up my trailer soon, and I will follow your example. extra caulk = no leak, deficient caulk = leak, water damage, mold, etc.
the algorithm brought me here. FF ye olde town cobbler of roof vent fans.
Pump up that algorithm! :). FF, he's the man!
So you missed the part in the manual stating the button should be facing the front of the coach?
Thank you so much for posting this! By any chance could you let me know how you installed the plywood? Is it just 1 inch ply and is it only fastened with the screws attaching to the fan or did you use some sort of mounting tape?
Hi, thanks for the comment! Yes it is 1/2" marine grade plywood and the screws from the top of the roof go through the vent, through the roof metal and into the plywood. So it then sandwiches the fan and metal and the wood together. There is no tape or glue on the inside, just the butyl tape on the outside you see in the video. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
Dropping names like the Enola Gay.
Gotta pump that algorithm like schilling crypto!
@@geomigavanlife Don't blame you, just bustin balls.I got a NV200 myself. I like it but it is slow as s**t. I put up with it for 27 MPG. I will subscribe. :-)
Thanks for the sub and congrats on the NV200! Yes, the mpg is one reason I went with it too. Today I got 32 mpg highway, in the mountains, 30-34 degrees C outside temp with the a/c on. It is phenomenal!!
Any leaks with the dome fan??...how you like it?
It has survived with no leaks and still going strong!! I like the fan for the size and stealth factor but I do not like how noisy it is. It's loud and either on or off. To mitigate this I bought an attenuator switch that has a rotary knob to dial back the speed. I'm hoping to run it on a very low setting and still get a bit of air flow. Haven't installed it yet, but when I do I'll be posting it on my Instagram account @geomigavanlife
will caulking or silicone set around freezing
I did park it inside the garage overnight where it was above freezing, so it just took a longer time to set.
it looks like it is winter there and it is now summertime. They did this sometime ago, right?
Yes, it was filmed in January. :) Yes, it's a heat wave here now, 34-40c!
Playing with his Caulk 😮
What is the make/model of the fan you installed?
It's called the MaxxFan Dome. There's also a model with an integrated light but I chose the one without. www.airxcel.com/rv/maxxair/products/fans/maxxfan-dome

Pump that algorithm!!!
