    "We could have prevented it."
Me: are you telling me you could have prevented the Chantry explosion, Cass? No. No you couldn't have. Not even Hawke could do that and they worked in close proximity to the man. • @user-yk9kh3xu5s
      @user-yk9kh3xu5s Před 5 lety +12

The flaw in your logic starts with 'not even Hawke'. Hawke is pretty much powerless compared to Cassandra and her 'special Seeker gift', especially if he is a mage. And given Corypheus is covered in lyrium, I dare say Cass could do a lot of damage.
Sadly, it can't be implemented in-game, or she will be too OP.

@@TeriiTeri For one, you need to figure out what it is the person you're replying to wrote, before doing so. I never said Cass will beat Cory, I said Cass will be a dozen times more effective than some random dude people praise for 0 reason.
For two, your assumptions are just that. Assumptions. And in some cases contradict the current lore. Ancient Tevinter's magic was still heavily based on the usage of lyrium (as noted in the story of the Magisters' fall), and Cass 'Seeker gift' revolves around exactly that. Why it would suddenly 'not work' is beyond me. Also, Tevinter's 'most powerful' a fuckton years ago is never confrimed to be 'more powerful than modern'. Progress is a thing.

    • @vermilion6966
      @vermilion6966 Před 4 lety +8

Yes ffs, she as a Seeker of truth could have prevented it.
If she actually bothered to 1 investigate the unrest in Kirkwall 2 help mages and not try to "protect people from the mages"- in general not just in Kirkwall.
But as all chantry followers, Seekers are only "interested" in circles when its time to kill mages there, they dont care about the mages themselves, they only care about 'everyone else' around.
What f*cking great work WAS she doing as a Seeker? She's stupid as a rock, she bought 90% of what Varric said to her anyway. Sniffing around trying to find some blood mages, sitting on her ass, repeating the chant is all she seems good for just like Elthina and her flock.
Yeah if anyone is guilty here, its an organization that should have been wathcing over the templars and the circles. But they completely ignored the templars and were only watching mages "behaving" . Reaping what they sow.
Cassandra might be a "good person", but good person isnt a line of work. And as a Seeker of truth, she's a failure.

Solas: Sometimes the mind buries what it cannot endure
Cassandra: And sometimes the guilty lie *sigh* let us press onwards
Varric: With all these demons why haven't you called for help?
Cassandra: We were delayed in Kirkwall
Varric: By delayed, she means we were interrogating the dwarf
Solas: A fortunate delay, considering it saved your lives
Cassandra: There was nothing fortunate about it! If you've been there we could've...this might all have--
Varric: You really want to torture yourself with what ifs Seeker?
      Cassandra: No, I want justice
Player: why would you ask her that?
Solas: it was a simple question
Cassandra: it is a question Leliana and I will ask ourselves for the rest of our lives, I assure you
Solas: I apologize, I did not mean to cause you pain
Player: So you and Cassandra know each other?
Varric: You could say that...she stabbed my books
Cassandra: I did no such thing!
Varric: She questioned me then dragged me here to give evidence at the Conclave
Cassandra: Which means you are now free to go
Varric: You ever get the feeling you're not wanted?
Player: Why do you call her "Seeker"?
Varric: Because that's what Cassandra is: a Seeker of Truth, a sort of Templar. Didn't she tell you? I bet they didn't even introduce themselves properly or mention who all these soldiers are
Cassandra: the prisoner is accused of a terrible crime
Varric: and yet you want her help unless you just decided to take her out and show her the sights
Player: so who are they then?
Varric: Cassandra and Leliana were the right-hand and left-hand of the Divine respectively, they were the Divine unofficial agents, doing things like gathering these soldiers
      Player: for what purpose?
Solas: the Templar order was once the Chantry's army but it abandoned them to hunt mages, a replacement was needed
Cassandra: it is more than that
Varric: so she claims, clearly the Divine had something in mind for them
      Cassandra: let's move on
Player: what do you know of the dalish?
Solas: I have wondered many roads in my time and crossed paths with your people on more than one occasion
Player answer 1: What do you mean by "crossed paths"?
Solas: I mean that I offered to share knowledge, only to be attacked for no greater reason than their superstitions
Player answer 2: we're both of the same people Solas
Solas: the dalish I met felt differently on the subjects

That's incorrect, he wants to restore the elves before they were enslaved to humans. The land of The das belonged to the Elves. He only wishes to bring down the veil that is a barrier between the world's. The destruction you speak of would be of the leftover Evanuris and the remaining blights, which is inevitable to began with. If anything Solas was giving warning of an impending threat and to be prepared him/her drawing the inquisitor so he could save them and so they would learn what's to come. If he was a monster he would have informed the inquisitor and let him/her simply die from the mark.

I think he's upset about losing his power and for that power to ONLY destroy.
While Solas want to "end the world", it's not because he is A crazy wack job who happenstanced himself into immense old elven god power.
He's a man trying to undo his mistakes. Mistakes that were meant to free his people, only to Dream walk thousands of years and watch helplessly as his people Inevitably find themselves in chains again, but worse off.
As Varric puts it "but I like the stories where the villain was the man beside you the whole time. The best villains don't see themselves as evil. They're fighting for a good cause, willing to get their hands dirty."
