Best Life in Looks/Vogue episode and commentary. Brooke Shields is a phenomena. Not only is she beautiful and tall but highly intelligent and perceptive.
As a life long photographer, I grew up with pictures like these. Avedon was surely one of the best. We studied his lighting techniques and applied them to the model shoots that we did in the Chicago studio. We printed 11x14 b&w prints for the models. We developed and printed them ourselves. Brooke was always a favorite. I certainly watched her film Pretty Baby. Thank you for this video. Brooke is so articulate and I appreciate her commentary.
To me, he is the ultimate fashion photographer. I made a documentary video about him that I think you will enjoy!

The photo of Marilyn gave me actuall chills and goosebumps, even though I have seen it before, this is the first time seeing it after getting a better picture of Marilyn's life and death.

Her documentary “pretty baby” was so eye opening, being so incredibly beautiful at such a young age was clearly a burden in the end- I am glad she was able to get her story out there. Beauty aside she seems like a lovely lovely woman.

I remember a photo of Brooke dressed in a silver outfit sitting on a silver motorcycle. It was beautiful! But I haven't been able to find it. I wish I could see it again. My early career was as an art director, setting up and directing fashion photo shoots, so I fondly remember Brooke and the photos taken of her. And Avedon was the best!
