- The man accused of shooting and killing Blount County Sheriff's Deputy Greg McCowan appeared in court Thursday morning. McCowan was conducting a traffic stop in Maryville on the evening of Feb. 8th when Dehart allegedly shot both him and Deputy Shelby Eggers.

A young dude I saw was so out of it - he just went and fell down on the floor after standing, rocking like
a darn zombie. Probably why some folk may call it such (lyrics-wise).
Now, imagine someone under the influence (varying degrees of) in a tin can going 30+MPH down the road, swerving
in and out of the lane. A crash could prove fatal to others. So no, it wasn't just something over some "flower".
Weed messes with your brain. This is a proven fact and I have seen its effect on other people who
just so happened to light it on fire at some point. Yeah, it's part of a joke and it's hardly comparable to something like
cocaine, heroin or fentanyl. But that does not make it harmless. Same as with alcohol.

@@WeisseDrache People with underlaying mental disorders that they struggle with. If they use drugs of any kind it will worsen that effect, sometimes it will trigger a complete breakdown. To themselves it might feel as if it helps, but any outsider looking in will have differences of opinions on that.

Has anyone seen the bodycam footage? A woman officer called for back-up (like always, unless writing a ticket) & claimed she smelt marijuana to facilitate the request. Women should NOT be patrol cops PERIOD!
Cops go hands on too quickly anymore & that causes people to become defensive. When people become defensive, things get dangerous. Cops base their entire first impression on looks! If this was a different looking person she might NOT have needed to smell the weed or call for back-up.
One of the two back-up officers (or men) was the one deceased now.
To lose the man of the home is an irreplaceable loss. The children indefinitely will pay the price for all our adult behavior.
