    YES! A theme that definitely needs the right kind of love especially now that the English patch for Eternal Punishment PSP is finally out so us fans can finally learn who exactly Shiori is after so freakin long! This theme definitely fits in Eternal Punishment especially with the heavy stuff that ties in with Shiori too. I do like this theme a lot cause it’s also nice driving music to listen to so thanks MRDW!

    Ahh, this track was always a personal favorite of mine. It's relaxing, but it also has that undercurrent of "something's wrong".
    Given the storyline Shiori's heavily involved with, it's pretty fitting.

    One of the most underrated characters. Thank God she's saved by Tatsuo. I like her soundtrack.

    I’m glad you uploaded this one MeRuleDaWorld. It’s a personal favorite of my. From its melancholic feel to Tatsuya in Eternal punishment. This track always hits home for me.

    Shiori wasn't the most compelling character though, her rant at mentally ill criminals post-date the setting of P2 and she is just a jerk to them, an ableist even.
    She does have a few sad moments with Tatsuya, but I hate the idea of him being guilty for.....SPOILERS
    Her brother being dead because of him. That was on Sudou and Nyarlathotep, not Tatsuya.

      @@Tasty_Tango45 Yeah, you can get the feeling that she views him as a sugarcoat little brother after her real one was unceremoniously killed by Sudou.
      Thanks for explaining my viewpoint! You deserve a Cookie 🍪

      personally I completely agree with her view on mentally ill criminals. Getting away scot free with heinous crimes on the basis of "mental illness" is dumb af.

      @semblance6433 Před 7 měsíci +6

      The guy was a literal serial killer who had no remorse for his actions. The fact that you're even trying to imply that Shiori was unjustified in how she felt towards him literally DECAPITATING her little brother's head right in front of her very eyes is delusional. Her rant on mentally ill criminals was simply an offshoot of her hatred towards Sudou, and her frustration over the fact that, no matter what she did, Japan's court of law would not be able to keep him off of the streets long enough to prevent further killing sprees.
      Also, I'm not surprised that you hate the idea of Tatsuya feeling guilt over his innocent sin, considering your track record of poor character analyses. Him feeling guilt over being the person responsible for the conflation of the original world and the new one is the catalyst of his character arc in Eternal Punishment. Tatsuya throughout EP is characterized by his self-hatred and single-minded pursuit of atonement, to rectify his mistake at the end of Innocent Sin. The key difference between his character in IS and in EP is that, in Innocent Sin, he was fighting to prevent the chaos caused by others (the rumors in Sumaru City and Nyarlathotep), whereas in Eternal Punishment, he was fighting to prevent chaos HE had caused. Tatsuya, rightfully so, felt responsible for ruining the peaceful world that he and his friends fought so painstakingly hard to create, and would do anything to stop The Crawling Chaos from re-enacting the destruction from the previous game. This is why he went to such lengths to carry that insurmountable burden, why Tatsuya felt like he, alone, had to fix things. And it's also why the death of Shiori's brother affected him so. He, a person already wracked with guilt over his innocent sin, was being reminded of its weight, of the irreversible effect it had on the lives of people, all over the world. By running from his sins, by erasing the fact that Tatsuya and his friends ever met, that the incident with Sudou ever occured at the shrine on that fateful day, someone else, Shiori's little brother, was forced to take his place and receive a fatal wound the likes of which they would never recover from ever again. And that killed him inside. Knowing that Tatsuya's innocent sin was going to send the new world to its destruction was terrifying in and of itself, but learning about the irreparable damage he'd done to everyone's families, like Shiori's, really made that horrifying reality sink in. It helped to ground the impact of his mistake by reminding him, and the player, of not only its large scale effects, but also its smaller ones too. (This also plays into Persona's thematic through line of facing the truth and/or not running away from reality!)
      TL;DR - Putting aside the fact that you tried to undermine Shiori’s situation by calling her a “jerk” and an “ableist” for wanting serial killers like Sudou to be locked up to prevent any further suffering, and even that you seem incapable of feeling sympathy for victims and would rather defend criminals like Sudou the moment you hear anything about mental illnesses, Shiori IS a compelling character not only in how well she's written and that she shares a lot of the sentiments that real victims would have, which feeds into Tatsuya's guilt, but also in how her trauma grounds the reality of Tatsuya's innocent sin and adds further nuance to the ripple effect it had on the new world. Also, I dislike the idea that you hate how Tatsuya would feel guilt over someone else dying from his innocent sin. He's a kind person trapped by self-hatred, and more than capable of feeling empathy for Shiori's situation. It was perfectly in-character for him to react that way upon learning the truth, and, frankly, I'm a bit appalled that someone could fail to see this.
